So glad we booked this hotel, it was a great find! Really reasonable prices and great facilities. The room was modern and spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had a 3 course meal in the restaurant which was delicious and for £25pp, we were very happy! Breakfast was great, a buffet with plenty of choice (could have had a veggie alternative to sausages & bacon to earn extra points, but even without, I found plenty to eat!) The gym was free to use for hotel guests and was well equipped. 11am checkout was a nice addition for a more leisurely start to our day. Well located for exploring the Cotswolds, we'll definitely book again if we're back in the area.
Spent the night here as a birthday getaway and was slightly nervous after reading some of the negative reviews - however the stay could not have been better. Staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. The room was spotlessly clean, and although it was slightly on the small side it was perfectly adequate and had everything you could have asked for. Bed was comfy and shower was great. The private terrace was a really nice touch too. Had dinner in the restaurant, and the food was amazing! Really recommend the Red Thai curry! Breakfast was really good too. We had other plans so didn’t visit the spa or the golf course this time, but other guests were impressed with these facilities. Will definitely be retuning for another stay soon!
A birthday treat for my partner. We had a wonderful time. Food was excellent and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. There was a wedding on during our stay but this didn’t affect our time there at all Chipping Camden is a beautiful place and we hope to return and explore some more
We were a group of 20 golfers meeting for 2 days golf and an overnight stay. The course was challenging without being too difficult for the high handicappers. The adjacent hotel was very comfortable and the evening meal way above our expectations for the price. Highly recommended.
We booked Cotswold Hotel and Spa in 2019 for our wedding venue (meant to be early 2021). Due to Covid we had to move our wedding to 2022, and it worked out so well for us. The venue has been extended and made very new- it is a STUNNING wedding venue, absolutely beautiful and we had the time of our lives. We visited the venue a total of 3 times (before the wedding) to see the space and discuss specifics, Lauren and Holly were so helpful and answered every question we have (even when we had lots of them!) The hotel was fantastic, I booked an apartment for myself and my bridesmaids with a golf course view, and the apartment was fantastic. The rooms looked good too, there's obviously been a lot of upgrading of the hotel during the pandemic. The food was absolutely incredible, so many guests commented that it was one of the best wedding meals that they have ever had! We partied the night away and it was just wonderful, we are so grateful for such a perfect venue. Unfortunately a few guests were greeted by a very rude and unwelcoming receptionist, who was very unhelpful with questions, but there was a second receptionist working the same day who was absolutely lovely and helped out our elderly relatives who needed rooms tweaking to be downstairs (obviously a lot changes for guests when you book in 2019 for a 2022 stay!) I've seen a few other reviewers comment on a rude receptionist, she really upset some of our guests so it might be worth reconsidering some staff....!…
Stayed 2 nights on way home from France to Scotland. Best part of the holiday! Saffi was brilliant and organised our stay last minute. Food and drinks excellent. Spa lovely. Area lovely. All in all fabulous.
Well situated hotel for visiting the Cotswolds and a game of golf . Our room was excellent with a private area to sit overlooking the golf course . Huge shower and plenty of storage space and room to move about. The staff were friendly , polite and helpful . Food was very good and the menu was varied . The golf course itself was very well maintained . Stunning country side and you could hire clubs We would definitely recommend and stay again.
I have just read some of the reviews and I am really surprised. Every review is personal to the person writing it - but these were not my experiences. We were here for a family wedding. Everything from start to finish was fabulous. I was mother of the bride so wanted everything to be just right. Breakfast was plentiful and hot. Room was bright and airy. It was great to be able to turn the radiators down as the weather was beautiful. It would’ve been nice if all the wedding guests were in the same block but didn’t deter from us having a great time. The wedding food was exceptional. My only slight criticism is that I paid for the room over 2 years ago but recently paid to add an additional adult into the room. On arrival there was no bedding or towels for the third person. This was rectified when we spoke to reception but there was clearly a lack of communication between reception and housekeeping as reception said housekeeping thought it was just 2 adults and no one seemed aware that 3 adults were paid for. But as I said this was rectified quickly. Bar staff were not at all rude to us. We even had some banter with a couple of the bar staff.…
If your wanting somewhere just for a one night stay in a nice, reasonably modern hotel in the Cotswolds then this is a great stay. We had an apartment with golf course view. Apartment was really nice, big and had everything we needed. What massively let it down was the fact we didn’t sleep at all. This was a last minute booking so very aware that we may have got the last room available and we were aware that the apartment had a sofa bed! However if you are advertising a sofa bed, I think you should still have a relatively comfortable sleep, which we didn’t! On departure we did mention this to the reception but was almost made out to be our fault because we got the last room and booked last minute. This is a nice place and I wouldn’t deter anyone from staying, but if you are looking to stay do not book an apartment and go for a room with a proper bed. It would also be worth paying for a golf course view or you are looking out onto the car park.…
Dinner - I had the curry, first there was a long hair in it, second time round the chicken had all the white stringy bits and sinew in it - I could not eat it and sent it back a second time. My husbands meat was grey in colour! The worst quality meat we have ever had at a hotel restuarant. The restaurant is a large room with tables and chairs, nothing on the walls, totally blank canvas and just functional. Breakfast is VERY basic - totally not what you would expect for a 4 star. The bar serves no cocktails (for a 4 start hotel?) and the bartenders are rude. 2 of the couches had no legs and were propped up on bricks ( I have photos). The room had 2 sliding patios door and no window so we have to sleep with the doors open! The spa - well its not a spa, and it costs £20 per person if you want a jacuzzi! Total rip off, no ambiance, its a room at the top of the stairs with a jacuzzi in it! And the worst - wait for it - it is advertised as a 4 star hotel - in the room and on Google. But actually the hotel has confirmed that they have NO STAR RATING! The manager said that then notice in the room that has the hotel name and 4 stars underneath it is purely to underline the name of the hotel. The manager also said they cant control that Google has applied a 4 star rating - they are clearly benefitting from this. Oh and if you are even thinking of having any kind of relationship in this hotel with your partner, think again. We could hear everything walking down the corridor!…
