Stayed here while attending a conference in central Oxford. On the plus side it's super close to the station (mins tops), the staff were very helpful and professional and the room was well provisioned with biscuits, fruit and toiletries. But - the decor was extremely dated beyond the reception area and the traffic noise didn't really cease until well after...

First the positive points. The hotel is well located, near the rail station, and close to the centre of the city. The staff on reception are pleasant and helpful. Now the negatives. The hotel is old and has no elevators. The plumbing is really noisy. The matresses need replacing. So do the lumpy pillows. Try as I might I could...

While a bit expensive, the location and size of the hotel were great. It was close to the train station and provided a good base for exploring Oxford. The traffic noise from the street was bothersome, mostly due to the large truck and bus noise coming up, but something that cannot be helped. The size of the room and bathroom...

This hotel is very conveniently located in Oxford. It's close to the station, and also very close to the restaurants and shops. The reception is small, but the staff are efficient and helpful. They have a policy that you must give in your key before leaving. It's a huge unwieldy thing anyway but does beg the question "why"? Our room...

We booked the Royal Oxford as were visiting for a weekend mainly to see a show at the theatre (which is a 10 min walk) and mainly due to its location. I did initially think £166 for a double room was expensive (free breakfast) but the local hotel chains were charging £120+ and are nowhere near as close to the...

This hotel is fine for an overnight stay - we went for Christmas shopping, Close to shops & lots of restaurants. Room was quite small although the bathroom was larger than the average. Old hotel but had everything you need. Nice soft towels, fruit & water provided free -- no fridge but plenty of tea & coffee. No restaurant in...

Great location in Oxford, cozy setting, great customer service, affordable. My three nieces stayed here while I stayed with local family. The room and bathroom was nice and the staff was helpful. Good location by the train station and many places to eat. There was one night it was noisy from some university students nearby.

Exactly what to expect from a good 3 stars. The best thing about it is the cleanness of the room and the very welcoming staff. Very good location. I personally loved taking my breakfast in a different place. You need to cross the road to reach the "Jam factory " where you are welcomed by a nice guy in a...
