Lovely old coaching inn with plenty of character. If you are tall like me, you will need to watch your head throughout the place. The staff were really friendly and the breakfast was really nice. Room was clean. Location is great, just a few minutes walk from the town centre. The road outside is quite busy so can be noisy...

We did have a problem when we showed up early, hoping to leave our luggage there while we went around town, because it was locked and there was nobody there. However, when we showed up at the normal check-in time there was someone there who was very nice. The ground floor is a tavern which is a mix of quaint...

We arrived a little early and were unable to get into the car park or speak to anyone by telephone (the pub was locked and closed) so parked elsewhere and returned later. In its favour is convenience for Oxford City Centre, about 10 minutes walk, free parking and it being an attractive, quirky old building. It was also clean and...

Situated at the town end of St Clements . Quite a small pub but with many televisions means a great atmosphere is achieve easily . Good range of beer although a bit more expensive than others . Food range a bit limited and given the tiny size of the sausage rolls they serve perhaps eating before visiting is the best...

The most advantageous reason to stay here is the proximity to the university and the parking lot in the back. We extended our visit by one day and were obliged to change rooms. The first room we stayed in with two twin beds was directly above the pub, so it was pretty noisy on the weekend until 11 pm. The...

An old coaching inn it was an ok place to stay. Rooms clean and bathroom modern with plenty of clean towels. tThe room came with small kitchenette, containing fridge and micro wave. Sky TV was also available. Would have liked a bedside lamp.

My wife booked this for my weekend birthday treat where we met up with a few friends. Oxford itself was heaving and for some of the prices quoted elsewhere we could have gone to Spain for the weekend. Ok the decor is somewhat dated but there again quaint in a way I suppose. The rooms are spotlessly clean and ample...

The pub / hotel is very old, with the commensurate exposed low wooden beams, uneven floors & walls and such. This can often be charming and interesting. Not the case here. The pub / hotel is just plain old. Many things (including toilet, fire alarm, window shades) just do not work properly. The furnishings are mismatched and tacky. The included...

Excellent location if you are prepared to walk (approx 15 minutes to Carfax Tower in central Oxford). Free parking, friendly staff, nice breakfast, clean but slightly worn decor. Free internet. As it is a pub it could be noisy, but it was fine when I visited.

Good location, the TV didn't work, but the wifi was fine, If any criticism is due then breakfast should have a longer serving time as was only available from 0730 - 0830. Overall not a bad place to stay.
