The Oxford Townhouse is a new hotel opened in February 2016. It is designed specifically for those who look for hotel-type facilities, such as air conditioning, but are reluctant to spend money on features they do not need. With only 15 rooms we are small enough to appreciate you as an individual but large enough to provide a reception service from 07:00 to 22:30. Throughout the design our emphasis has been on magnifying natural light using a repetitive colour palette of whites, beige, soft greys and cool blues with the occasional use of darker earthy shades of charcoal, brown, navy and black to create visual interest. We have tried to use natural materials from ceramic, wood and stone to tactile linen, wool and felt. Window treatments are simple and pared back to let in as much light as possible. We have three types of room, with 2 singles, 8 classic double/twin rooms and 5 superior double rooms. All rates include complimentary English breakfast and on-site car parking. Standard Room Facilities En-suite shower rooms Air conditioning Mini bar with complimentary soft drinks Laptop safe Electronic door locks Free Wi-Fi Large-screen LED SmartTV Hair-dryer USB charging points Large full-length mirror Tea & coffee making facilities Superior Room Facilities Our Superior Rooms are larger, offer all the standard facilities and the following additions: Easy chairs Desk and chair King-size bed Nespresso machine Rain showers Although our hotel is new, it is housed in 2 late-Victorian houses without a lift. We have 3 floors of rooms and breakfast is in the semi basement and additionally there are 8 steps to the front door. Although we can offer assistance with luggage we are not a full-service hotel so you need to take into account the potential logistical difficulties when you book.

From it’s smart exterior with the secure gated private car park, to the clean and well presented, welcoming bedrooms, through to the delicious breakfast, this establishment will make you glad you booked. My daughter and I stayed for one night as we were visiting the city. Our stay was fantastic and frankly it would be hard to find fault. Little touches such as fresh milk in the bedroom fridge and a wide choice of hot beverages in the room were great. Not forgetting the personalised chocolate cookies - yum! There’s a bus into town literally right outside the door which really helps as Oxford is not a car friendly city and parking is extremely expensive. If I could add one tiny thing it would be a box of soft tissues in the room. We will definitely return !

My daughter and I stayed here after a day of hiking the Thames Trail. While we were at dinner, the owner of the hotel entered our room without our knowledge. He later admitted that he had done so. I noticed several of my English pound currency was missing from my wallet. Also know that from the minute you enter the hotel, you are being videotaped. The owner is rude and a liar. If he later reads this, he will say it is untrue. That is of course what liars do. Keep yourself safe by NOT STAYING at this hotel.

Recently visited Oxford with friends, 2 night stay at the Pear tree travel lodge excellent value, did a 30 minute boat trip from the Folly which was very nice, used the tour bus very good and included a 30 minute walking tour (optional), had a excellent meal at mogali and drinks on the roof top terrace at west gate shopping centre, fantastic views, breakfast at Browns cafe in the covered market really good. Great weekend spoilt only by dreadful service and food at the Ivy one to avoid .

We visited the Oxford Townhouse and stayed for 2 nights. Beautiful room everywhere spotless. They were operating on a Covid scale so reception limited, this was not a problem. Everything thought of! Only had to ask and things were replaced/renewed towels milk teabags. Breakfast brilliant. The staff were lovely especially helpful was gentleman on reception so sorry didn’t get his name. Can’t recommend this enough as long as you like a short 10/15 minute walk into the town which we enjoyed. Will definitely return here 😁

We had an extremely comfortable stay here in July 2021 - couple of nights city break. Paid for a superior room, and it was lovely and spacious and really well designed, and super-comfy. The air-conditioning was great, and an absolute necessity in the heatwave! The bathroom was also nice and roomy, again very well designed and stylish. Super toiletries too! Breakfast was lovely, really good. We appreciated the secure car park too, an added bonus. Rob the Manager was extremely helpful with recommendations - I emailed him a lot prior to our visit and he was always very accommodating. Good location just a 10 minute walk from the main stuff in Oxford. Definitely highly recommend! Oh - and the homemade biscuits were a really nice touch, and very delicious!
