Hotel is in a great location, very easy to find and access and just across the road from the Westgate shopping centre, high street, ice rink, and other local attractions. Checking in is very simple with self check-in but staff are friendly and welcoming if you'd prefer or need any help.

The room was immaculate and tidy upon entering. With the air heating/conditioning and many lighting options, you can have the room however you like to suit your comfort. The bed was comfortable and came with extra pillows if needed. Iron and board, hairdryer, kettle and coffee machine, TV with good signal.

Bathroom had bright or cosy lighting options and came with the usual necessities for washing, and clean towels. The shower itself was clean, and the overhead was perfect with water was as hot or as cold as needed and good pressure to it, the smaller showerhead was only semi-detachable though so you can't move it very far away from the wall.

Loved how cosy the room was to just lay in and relax with the headboard lighting, and no complaints with the rest of the room. That being said, tried the ultimate wi-fi upgrade for £15 and honestly barely used it but when we did it seemed quite slow so we just stuck with using phone data anyway. Might try a standard room next time to see how it compares to the Premier Plus, as the price difference can be quite a saving but am still very satisfied with my stay.

Overall had a great stay in the Premier Plus and it was in a good location to explore Oxford.

We like the Premier Inn brand but this hotel has an issue with room cleaning.
Room cleaning only happens on request according to the small printed information sheet in the room (which is not mentioned on the website on booking the room). We requested cleaning at the reception every day of our 4 nights stay but nothing happened. The hotel charges the full rate for the room but doen't provide the service!
The breakfast was nice and tasty and value for money, everything fresh and readily available but a second coffee machine would have been a good idea to avoid queues building up in front of it.

The great asset of this Premier Inn is the location, very central to everything. So it's a mixed experience for us and put a slight dent into our confidence in the Premier Inn brand.

We stayed here for 2 nights. We arrived on a Thursday morning , our room was not ready so staff were able to put our luggage in a safe place until we area allowed to check in. Room 214
When checking in later on we booked breakfasts rooms were very clean, welcoming with complimentary tea, coffee etc. We had a walk in shower room, fresh towels.
The location is perfect for anyone who wants to explore the city, the architecture, the shops and the restaurants.
The reception staff were helpful.
Breakfasts were very good and staff explained to us about what to do and if there was anything we needed just to ask.
We will definitely be visiting here again. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here.

This was my first stay at a Premier inn hotel and previously stayed at Travel lodges and Holiday inn hotels have to say this was much better.
The hotel is slap bang in the centre of Oxford city centre with the huge Westgate shopping centre just across the road and all the attractions within easy walking distance or if you don,t fancy walking there is the hop on hop off bus.
The train station is about a ten minute walk from the hotel and i would also recommend not driving as parking is extremely difficult in the centre.
There is a Wetherspoons about a minutes walk from the hotel and just round the corner there is also a Slug and lettuce if you want cheap eats.
We arrived at 11.30am and the staff were very friendly and helpful and let us leave our luggage in the luggage room as check in is not til 4pm which we did know about but once checked in our room was spotless and a decent size.
The bathroom was good size with walk in shower and there was also a hair drier in the room and it had double glazed windows so know road noise.
Wifi was good and the bed was super comfy and had a superb nights sleep.
Breakfast was also excellent with a great choice and mon-sat from 6.00am till 10.00am Sunday 7.00am till 11.00am and again the staff were very good and friendly and always willing to help.
Checkout is 12 noon but again if your train is later in the day after check out you can again leave your luggage with the hotel until you leave.
There is access for disabled guests and they are well catered for not just at the hotel but from what i could see all over the city.
I will certainly recommend this hotel if you are planning a visit to Oxford for me it ticks all the boxes and i will certainly consider staying at other Premier inn hotels after this experience .
Well done to all concerned and thankyou for an enjoyable stay.

Really good location- there's a shopping centre literally across the road, and within 10min walking distance of museums etc.
We were going to be walking around in a heatwave for hours before check in, luckily we could drop off our backpacks for storage, which meant we got to visit more places as a lot close at 5 and walking back just to check in to drop off bags would have taken up a chunk of time.
Staff were also super nice and helpful, opened a wine for us when I accidently bought one with a cork in it and didn't realise until the shops were closed.

Some negatives are the fact you can't open the windows (I think this may be the same for all premier inns but air con is not the same as fresh air), and the scrambled eggs weren't good, had a texture like they'd been out too long.
Also in the standard rooms you get a all in one shampoo+body wash, I bought my own shampoo and conditioner so wasn't an issue, just something to keep in mind.

Costs more than I'd usually spend but I think that's just Oxford prices, considering other hotels in Oxford I think it's really good value, especially for the location.

Would definitely stay here again!

One night stay in Oxford and no hot water for a shower in the morning, staff said they were working on it. Avoid this hotel. Premier have offers us a £15 refund on a £138 bill for the delight of no shower. Avoiding Premier going forward if they think this is an acceptable way to behave

Premier Inn is my go to for a reliable, predictable hotel on a budget. I've never been disappointed before - until the Westgate Oxford hotel. After 2 days of our room not being cleaned, despite us raising this, we were told that rooms are not currently being routinely cleaned on a daily basis. This makes sense for reducing contact and the hotel is probably short staffed, but it would have been helpful to have been told. No room cleaning means dirty cups are not replaced, bins not emptied and toilet roll not replenished. I would have had no issue with leaving my rubbish outside our room and having a new bin liner left on the door, instead after 3 days our bin was overflowing. And maybe provide more than one toilet roll? Also we had issues with our key cards which stopped working every day.

Where do I start? I have stayed at Premier Inns all over the country and have always been satisfied with my stay. However, the Premier Inn Westgate Oxford is not in this category.

Cleanliness is sadly neglected by staff shortages, lack of training and unsuitable staffing appointments. All the staff were obviously trying their best but not achieving the standard required or expected by guests. The entrance/reception is a disgrace. Cigarette butts left on paving, which is weedy and unswept. Reception not inviting with out of order check-in machine, cluttered and dead plant pot.

Where is the Manager?!

The bedrooms were only cleaned on request during our stay, only discovered later having missed the small sign in reception. Clean towels collected at reception on request. Bins self-emptied. Thick dust at carpet edges and skirting boards. The shower curtain was well past its best and could have been replaced at minimum cost. Bed and bedding clean and comfortable.

Room card keys constantly needed reprogramming to gain entry. Wi-Fi? Forget it!

Restaurant closed during stay, apart from breakfast. Apparently kitchen staff had been seconded elsewhere in hotel. Coffee machine out of action for 2 breakfast services and fruit salad off the menu one day. Tables often left dirty and chairs neglected.

Positives? Close to inner city but not much else to recommend it.

Brand new hotel let down by poor service.

We arrived early and asked to leave luggage while we shopped. Rather than a friendly welcome the member of staff didn't look happy with my request and asked disapprovingly how many cases we had. Where was the smile? Where was the welcome to Premier Inn Oxford? (Hotel listing has luggage facilities noted as a feature)

The brand new room was well-appointed and fairly spacious for 4 people, but there were issues:

The TV remote was very temperamental.

The bed was not as comfortable as other Premier Inns we've stayed in, so not sure if they've changed supplier?

We had 4 people booked in to the room. They gave us 6 pillows so we had to go and ask for another 2. They gave us 2 glasses, so again had to go and ask for another 2.

The room temperature was hard to regulate. Too warm on arrival, but we managed to get the air con and room went cool ... but it went too cool and then we couldn't get it back up!

Breakfast was a major disappointment:

* No sausages or hash browns (supplier issues, apparently, but that's quite a chunk of the cooked breakfast you pay nearly £10 for!)
* Many items of our stock most times we checked, especially pancakes, pastries and Nutella
* Staff at breakfast not enough to cope with demand and not very customer friendly

At check out, we asked to leave luggage again while we explored Oxford for afternoon. Same woman on desk as check in ... again seemed annoyed with the inconvenience of having to deal with this rather than showing how helpful Premier Inn like to be.

It's brilliantly located in the centre of Oxford, but they need to quickly improve their service.

Finally, the phone number for the hotel on Premier Inn's website comes up as an invalid number when you try to contact them!

The hotel is ideally situated for city centre and station. Breakfast was good. Staff very efficient at evacuation process when fire alarm went off at night. Lovely young lady on our floor doing the rooms and another pleasant young lady on reception in the evenings
However the toilets in reception were dirty with no soap or toilet paper. ( We used these on arrival and when we left 2 days later and nothing had improved) . The corridors needed a good clean and hoover. Our room clearly had only had a basic clean as bits on the carpet, dust in the bathroom and shower screen had marks on it. Spare pillows had no pillow cases on them and no teabags milk etc. These last 2 problems were rectified quickly.
We stay in a lot of premier inns up and down the country and this certainly was not up to their usual standards.

No there isn’t. The nearest one we found was £37 per night. It was about 10 mins walk. Apparently there is a park and ride. The best thing to do is go to the hotel and drop the cases and if you are staying for a few days, park it at park and ride. We went for three nights and could not be bothered to do that.

We dropped our luggage off at the hotel, be careful of bus lanes and drove to Redbridge Park & Ride. Bus stops very near hotel and return bus stop opposite hotel. Very good service.
