We stayed for just one night, as we live locally and had family visiting for Christmas. A very comfortable and spacious room, looking out onto the garden - it was quiet and peaceful, and we had a good night’s sleep. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. We shall visit again, and we look forward to it. Highly recommended.

Lovely visit. Very clean and lovely large airy room . Nice to have a fridge and microwave. Interesting literature and beautiful African book with quotes. Only problem was that we booked in and went straight out to see our daughter. On returning at 10:00pm, after reception was closed, we found no toiletries in our room. Luckily I had packed some hand soap and shampoo or we wouldnt have been able to wash our hands. No toiletries were supplied the rest of the stay. There were advertisements of toiletries at reception, the implication being that we would have to purchase these. Even if we had wished to, reception would have been closed. I do feel that minimum of some hand soap should have been provided free of charge.

We received a very warm welcome, and were allowed to check in several hours early. Room was big, well furnished, and comfortable. We particularly liked having a small table and kitchenette for our breakfast! Lovely toiletries provided in the bathroom. There is a small car park, and also on road parking. Couldn't have asked for friendlier, more welcoming hosts. Would definitely stay again.

This was a nice stay in Oxford. We traveled with a family of 5, two adults and three kids (14, 13, and 7 y/o). The rooms were both spacious (Rooms 5 &6), clean, and comfortable with a sitting table, chairs, microwave, and refrigerator. There was a modest continental breakfast included with our room price when we booked direct through them rather than through a hotel booking web site. I’m a light sleeper, so Room 5 was a little loud for my liking because it was right on a busy Main Street. However, once the windows were closed, it became much more quiet. So really, this is really only an issue on warmer days, because you have to choose between having a really warm or louder room. Room 6, however, was much quieter according to our kids. They said the room was very comfortable. The location encouraged some healthy walking and opportunities to take public transport, which I thought was great for us. It was a quick 15 min walk to Summertown, which had some great restaurants (highly recommend Mama Mia’s), and a quick bus ride into city center Oxford. The bus rides are quick, frequent, and affordable from the B&B location, so I would recommend that as the main form of transportation over paying the high price for a taxi. The receptionist at Marlborough House was truly lovely and very pleasant to interact with. I would give her 5 stars. The reason for my holding back on any higher review was really the sound, breakfast, and finally the price of the stay seemed a bit high. We did have a nice stay though.

Very comfortable stay, cheerful greeting on arrival, large quiet room, very clean bathroom, kitchenette a useful addition. Recommend booking direct for the free breakfast served in your room. In walking distance of shops and restaurants in Summertown, and easy bus trip to Central Oxford. Free parking outside. Would definitely stay again.

Really enjoyed our two night stay a couple of weeks ago. Staff very attentive and helpful. GreT location for visiting the City especially as the bus stop is opposite the hotel Two things I’d comment on that would turn this review 5* 1. Invest in better quality pillows and 2. Provide fresh better quality croissants and pastries. I’ll be coming back for sure and will bring my own for now. Thanks 🙏

Booked this hotel months ago for my sisters Hen weekend in July 2023. 14 ladies all aged between 30 and 50 booked this guest house due to the close location of the restaurant we had booked for dinner and river punting activity. After paying the full amount and having communication with the guest house up until last week with no problems mentioned, today (8th May 2023) they contact us out of the blue to state that a company is coming in to help staff the hotel and their policy is to not allow stag and hen parties, so the booking is cancelled! I explained that we are a group of middle aged ladies with varying careers (paramedics, teachers etc) who are not a concern at all, but they will not budge! Apparently if we booked saying we were a birthday party then no problem, but because we are celebrating a wedding, then we are no longer welcome! Absolutely disgusted that this hotel has tarred all hen parties with one brush and left out plans completely ruined so last minute. Definitely would not recommend.

What a terrible hotel and awful awful service. Happily took our booking, our money months ago, let us add 2 more people to stay only last week then decided a few weeks before our stay they “don’t like large bookings” anymore leaving us with no where to stay. No help, no options. Tarnishing every large group that books with the same brush. Disgusting. Well, well done for totally ruining my hen do 👏🏻👏🏻🤬

This place was truly wonderful! We found the peace and quiet, tranquility, and charm that we were looking for. We felt as if it were our home away from home so to speak. Marlborough House Hotel is for people who don't want the hustle and bustle of a large urban hotel, but the warmth and privacy of a small town haven. It is situated right outside Oxford, about five minutes by bus. A great choice for families, friends, or just for yourself. A 'Thank you' to Annita and Kavita who were so friendly and polite, and to kind drivers Shefi and Fatri. Stella S.

We were greeted by two lovely young ladies, Adrian and Anyella ( I may have their names slightly wrong) so I’ll call them Darlings 🥰🥰 and Alastair I think who was the Boss. A welcoming log fire and Prosecco with a cream tea 😋 out room No 2 was very nice overlooking the High Street, and so close to Blenham Palace and lots of pubs and restaurants. Breakfast was delicious and all this was including in our booking price. We booked with Secret Escapes but next time we will book direct with Alastair. All in all a very nice overnight stay in Oxford snd we will be going back. Truly recommend. 🤩
