We had a good 2 night stay. The food in the restaurant was very good and the choice was enough. Our room was spacious and comfortable but it was at the very top of the hotel and we didn't have a telephone in our room. It was only on leaving that they told us to use their WhatsApp account for messaging reception, a shame it wasn't pointed out at the start of our stay. But overall we had a good time and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We were gifted an afternoon tea and chose the Holt as it was a convenient stopping place on the way home. It was an excellent choice - good sandwiches, lovely cakes and excellent scones. While we were only there for a short time it did seem to be a really nice hotel and I expect we will visit again. The staff were very friendly as well

Very much enjoyed our two day stay. Excellent service from the staff. Comfortable, clean and spacious room. Close to many wonderful places to visit in the Cotswolds. We even witnessed probably the best sunrise I have ever seen. Highly recommend.

We had a super stay at the Holt Hotel. We had a gorgeous room, the bed was so comfortable and cosy. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the breakfast the next day. All the staff we met were very polite and friendly. Loved the old historic building, which has been recently refurbished. Ideal for visiting Bicester Village.

We booked this hotel last minute after visiting Bicester village as we wanted to explore the nearby areas. We looked at the family room and it looked pretty so we went ahead with it and booked it. When we arrived, the ladies at the reception were very friendly, the room was spacious and the breakfast was good and it had enough varieties ( it was fresh) overall, it was good and it made our weekend just worth the travel.

We have just returned home from a two night stay at the Holt Hotel. Each member of staff we encountered was friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our room was spotless and comfortable. We had a meal in the bar/restaurant on the first night and starters, mains and deserts were lovely. We attended a murder/mystery function at the hotel on our second night which was great fun and the quality of the three course meals provided was amazing! Breakfasts on both mornings were delicious with everything anyone could want. The Holt hotel is somewhere we would definitely stay again if in the area. Thanks very much for a great stay.

Wonderful hotel. We got married here in 2006 & recently held our renewal of vows here too. Spacious hotel, many lovely areas to sit & relax, to drink & eat. Many different rooms to choose from to stay in. Lovely food. Friendly & knowledgeable staff.

Very pleasant atmosphere. Nice to be greeted with friendly, smiling faces at reception, and all the staff. Comfortable to stay here as a single woman. The Holts is a very conveniently located hotel for getting into Oxford or Banbury, for example. To be recommended.

We stayed here about 18 months ago and had a nice visit so thought we'd have another night away. We won't be coming back. On arrival at 7.10 we were told we would need to be quick if wanted to eat in the restaurant. My partner only wanted a burger so the lady on reception said we could get that in the bar. On arrival at the bar at 7.50 we were told they were full and couldn't serve us. No real apology or explanation, guess the chef had had enough? There were only about 8 tables occupied. Our room was 44 on the ground floor, nice spacious room in need of renovation. It was just about adequate until we got into bed. You could feel every spring in the mattress. We had an awful night's sleep. The bathroom was very old and in need of some serious TLC. Carpets in the corridors were frayed and dirty. Onto breakfast, we arrived at any 8.45. The food is a buffet, plenty of choice, but:- Tomatoes stone cold Mushrooms dry and cold Sausages tasty but luke warm Hash browns like shoe leather and cold Scrambled eggs cold Coffee and tea only luke warm When the waiter came for the plates he asked if it was ok, my partner told him the food was cold. No one bothered to come to our table to chat. On departure we gave our key to the girl on reception who acknowledged it but didn't even ask how we'd enjoyed our stay. It looks like the owners and staff have just lost all interest in the hotel and it's guests. What a shame. …

Hi, Thank you for your review. I am sorry you were disappointed on this occasion and I apologise for any inconvenience your experienced. Our hotel was very busy that evening. We do fill up very quickly and it is recommended to book in advance. We have refurbished over seventy percent of our bedrooms. I am pleased to say, we are refurbishing more bedrooms in January 2024. I have noted all other issues you mentioned. The service you received on this occasion is no way indicative of the level of service we strive to provide our valued customers. This is endorsed by over ninety percent of our reviews on Trip Advisor. Had you complained about your cold food when you received it, we would have rectified it immediately. Despite your negativity, we have a great reputation for our service. It is a shame you did not ask to speak to any of the five management team on duty, before resorting to publishing your review. I can assure you the management has not given up. We are constantly upgrading every area of the hotel.

Very cosy hotel with a great room. The bedroom was comfy and spacious, while the bathroom was modern with a good shower. The food service was great. Dinner was delicious with a nice variety. Breakfast was great with good options and the best sausages and eggs. The staff were accommodating throughout and very friendly.
