We had an overnight stay as my daughter had a uni interview the following morning. We had the twin room at the top of the house which was lovely. There was a bath in the ensuite which was particulary welcome as we had had a freezing cold journey by bus from the rail station (the bus stops opposite the b&b)... More

Decided to take a short break in Oxford & the Gables Guest House was perfect. On arrival we received great advice on potential places to eat dinner which was much appreciated. Even better when our host booked the venue and a taxi. Thanks!!!

Sally looked after us and was welcoming to her B&B. This was a special occasion for my partner Claire who I proposed to on the night at a local pub Bear and Ragged Staff, which was also a lovely place. Sally made sure my roses were looked after and strategically placed them in the room while I did my bit!!... More

We had the king size room which was quite comfortable. Special touches included fresh roses, cognac and chocolate. Breakfast was superb. The neighborhood is quite pleasant and easily accessible by bus though we usually walked into town, a two mile trek.

Stayed here for two nights, had a great stay. Very cosy & comfortable room with an excellent breakfast. We had Richard looking after us, & he was really friendly & helpful. Great bus service with a stop right outside. Would highly recommend this guest house to everyone. Thanks for a great two days.

I stayed here for 1 night. Bit of an odd start as I could not gain entry. No one answered the door or phone. I walked around the back to find the proprietor asleep. No big deal. The room was small but adequate with a comfortable double bed and ensuite. The ensuite could have been cleaner but was adequate. The... More

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. The gentleman looking after the guest house was a relief manager, not the owner. We do pride ourselves on high standards of cleanliness, as you will see from previous reviews. Your comments are noted and will be investigated. A wonderful guest house. My family stayed here for my sons wedding a few weeks ago. The owners were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much bother. They allowed us to use their garden with our 4 year old grand daughter, and even found her some toys to play with. The room was small, but very clean - Spotless... More

We have just returned from an 8 week trip around UK & Ireland using 41 different B&Bs and found Gables Guest House Oxford (our last night) an excellent place to stay. Off street parking is available in front of the house. The owner Sally was absent during our visit but we received a warm welcome from her replacement who did... More

From now on, this is where we will try to stay when visiting Oxford. It is truly an outstanding B&B and boasts the best full monty breakfast we've ever had, and I've been going to England since 1970. The rooms are spotlessly clean, well-appointed, and cosy. The garden is beautiful and extremely well-maintained, and the promixity of the establishment to... More

Stayed here a couple of nights on the way to Winchester. Pleasantly surprised by its clean and cozy rooms. The hostess Sally was friendly and cheerful with a big smile all the time. She even mailed my sunglasses to my hotel in London after she discovered them.
