We booked quite late as our first Covid-19 overnighter and were delighted with our stay in the Boutique room. Quality is high here. Clean, immaculate, well-appointed rooms are in a delightful converted former carpenter's workshop at the end of a fairy tale garden well back from the road (make sure you follow the directions given which is to turn up a track signed by a large red arrow from the road). I even broke my Fitbit sleep score (91) on the second night. Georgia and Paul are friendly and informative with lots of information about the village and the local area. On arrival in the area we used the Park & Ride in Thornhill and spent some hours in Oxford. We drove down to Abingdon (1st two hours of parking are free) for an evening meal and then went to Blenheim Palace/Woodstock the following day. We also had an interesting peek at the nearby Nuneham House and gardens on our morning of departure (on Paul's recommendation).…
My husband and I booked two nights away as we wanted somewhere really peaceful to relax but still be based close to Oxford city centre. We couldn’t have chosen better, this place is so beautiful and tranquil but much more than that Georgia and Paul are such warm and considerate hosts. From the moment we arrived we were so well looked after and every detail catered for. I mentioned I was on a keto diet and Georgia adapted my breakfast to make sure I could eat it all. We very much enjoyed the morning chats and friendly advice about where to go and what to do in Oxford. The B and B is also extremely convenient for travelling into town - the bus stop is right outside so it was so easy to get about without needing to use our car (meaning we went to lots of the lovely local pubs too :) We loved it so much we extended our stay another night and left on Monday morning. Perfect Perfect Perfect! Thankyou Georgia and Paul.…
The best b&b we have stayed in. On the bus route to Oxford centre, free parking, great room, set in pretty gardens - and very pleasant hosts. The room was very comfortable and cool, despite the heatwave. Fridge was just a great thing to have too. Enjoyed our stay immensely!
We recently stayed at Whispering Cottages, our first trip away this year, and were very impressed with all the Covid measures that were in place, including the serving of the delicious breakfast. Our room was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and came with lots of unexpected extras. We’d mentioned visiting Oxford when booking and Georgia had bus times waiting for us upon arrival which was a nice touch. The gardens are absolutely stunning and we were fortunate with the weather so able to enjoy them.
We’ve just had a two night stay at Whispering Cottages and highly recommend it, a faultless stay. Hosts Georgia & Paul are just the best, so friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and truly great at their job. The little extras that we weren’t expecting were just so lovely and kind, homemade cake and biscuits plus a bottle of wine. Their attention to detail on everything is perfect. The breakfasts are just the best, the homemade compote was just absolutely delicious, Georgia is one talented lady! The room was perfect, so comfortable, all the amenities you need too, real home from home. A perfect location if your visiting Oxford, there is a bus stop literally on the doorstep that takes you straight into the city and runs regularly, currently £3.80pp return. The buses even run until 3am!! A wonderful stay, just a shame it was for longer, but hopefully we will return! Thank you Georgia & Paul! X…
