The Glove House is a beautiful 17th Century Grade II listed property, nestling on the edge of the Cotswolds, in the very special historic town of Woodstock. This Cotswold stone townhouse, formerly used as a glove workshop, has been renovated and converted into a new small luxury bed and breakfast. Within 500 metres of Blenheim Palace, a few miles from the historic town of Oxford and close to the vibrant shopping facilities of Bicester village, The Glove House has three spacious ensuite rooms: The Bladon, The Woodstock Small Suite and The Charlbury Suite. The bedrooms are charming and quiet, overlooking picturesque Woodstock and the walled garden. All the rooms are furnished with antiques as well as works of art and have been beautifully decorated with fine linens and Cotswold wools; they have been painted in calming neutral colours reflective of the English countryside. Breakfasts include traditional cooked English breakfast, sourced from a local farm as well as homemade produce. In the summer, breakfast can be served in the lovely walled garden; in the winter guests can eat in the elegant dining room or in the panelled sitting room in front of the fire. All rooms have sumptuous divan beds with pocket sprung mattresses, and upholstered headboards and valances, while the bedlinen is of the finest cotton percale. Each room features a 26" LED TV with DVD player, WiFi, clock radio with Ipod docking station, a Nespresso machine, and tea making facilities. The ensuite bathrooms have exclusive bath products and luxurious bathrobes.

We stayed for two nights in the Bladon suite at Glove House in March 2020. The suites as other guests have attested to exuded luxury with antique furniture, boutique high quality finishes, premium bed linen, towels and toiletries. In our suite we also had a wide selection of tea, coffee, hot chocolate as well as still and sparkling water available and a good variety of biscuits. The attention to detail really is first class and there were additional touches to make our stay more comfortable including an array of current magazines with a cosy reading corner and much to my delight bubble bath to use in the roll top bath! Where Glove House really does shine though is through the owner Francesco who made us feel at home from the moment we arrived and continued to be a superb host throughout our stay. On our arrival he brought us a pot of tea with delicious cake and gave us some recommendations for where to eat in the village that night (we dined at the Black Prince which we’d recommend). Francesco also checked each night if we wanted fresh milk to be left in our room so we could make tea/coffee. The breakfast each morning was also wonderful, served in a gracious dining room with beautiful cutlery and crockery and a lovely choice of croissants, home-made bread, yoghurt, muesli, cereal and some delicious locally sourced cooked items, not forgetting Francesco’s famous Italian scrambled egg, which you absolutely must try! Francesco, we can’t thank you enough for making our stay in Oxfordshire one to remember, we’ll be recommending Glove House to our friends and family, and hope to stay with you again when we next visit the area!

Having read the reviews we were not sure the Glove House could be so good, but we were not disappointed. A lovely welcome from our host and an exceptional suite awaited us. The breakfast the next morning was wonderful, served with plenty of locally sourced produce. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend.

I am writing this review on behalf of my parents (who are not registered with Tripadvisor). They stayed at The Glove House for two nights in December - in the Bladon room. This is a truly beautiful bed and breakfast in a gorgeous town house in the centre of Woodstock. The property has been tastefully renovated to an exceptional standard of comfort. The furnishings in the room were lovely, the bathroom spectacular and spotless. The breakfast is served in a gracious dining room with beautiful cutlery and crockery and a lovely choice of croissants, home-made bread, yoghurt, muesli, cereal and some delicious cooked items including the famous Italian scrambled egg. My parents found their whole stay faultless in every way - they loved it!
