Just come back today from staying in the studio flat. I would easily stay here again. It was an easy check in. You get emailed with a request of ID requirements they need and once you’ve confirmed this they then send you a link to pay for the stay at the apartment and a deposit which is refundable depending on any damages etc. Clean linen supplied, with also cutlery, plates, mugs, pans and pots etc. Was a lovely spacious clean place to stay. It honestly felt like a home from home. For a couple who just wanted some ‘us’ time without work etc constantly getting in the way. It was relaxing and for a women I felt safe and secure in and around the building when I wasn’t with my partner. Michela from guest services was polite and friendly with a ‘can do attitude’ and helped with queries I had and made me feel at ease. Thank you Michela.
Your central to everything and everything was in a nice walking distance. I can’t wait to book again and this time dependent on work I hope it’s longer than two nights! See you soon!!

This apartment is well maintenance. All electrical machines are well-functioning.
The location is excellent too. It’s close to shopping street, inside city, so you can walk to every attraction. Space of room is large and comfort.

I was really impressed by the standard and facilities of the House of Fisher services apartments. They are in a great location with a wide variety of shops and restaurants close by.
Everything you need is provided and the accommodation is immaculately presented.
I have now stayed there on 5 separate occasions and look forward to my next one!

I needed a place to stay for a conference in Reading and I have chosen House of Fisher. The staff that greeted me at City Wall House were friendly and accommodating. The girl took the time to answer all the questions I had regarding their services- she was pleasant and informative. When I asked for a fan- it was too hot- I realized the room was already equipped with one. It is worth noting that the kitchen is fully equipped with kettle, toaster, oven, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. You can also find a iron and ironing board, hair-dryer- if you ever need one.
I can say that the apartment was modern and stylish.
At arrival there was a complimentary pack that was brilliant.
The apartment was easy to find since the location is amazing- right in the centre- handy and within walking distance of everything! One would expect to be noisy, but actually it wasn't. I was quite impressed.
The cleaning takes place once a week and my apartment was immaculate. The cleaners provided me with clean towels, the linen was also very clean.
As far as I am concerned the staff were helpful, efficient and polite.
I will definitely be back and I would recomment the place to anyone.

The apartment/studio:- Position: Excellent ! Close to railway station and all tha malls around.- Accessibility: Fair, CAB can't enter this pedestrian region.- Information: Excellent, You're sharing all necessary information to use the apartment.- Room: Good, a little bit small for me.- Reception: Bad, I was stuck for 4 hours before accessing the apartment as my company office admin wasn't aware to make a payment to the HOF as all credit credit card details were given to booking.com and confirmation received, with no help to delay the payment to Monday

Response from CraigP2367, Guest Relations Manager at City Wall House Aparthotel
Responded 8 Mar 2019
Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback of your recent stay at City Wall House. Centrally located is something all 13 of our properties have in common so we are glad to hear you appreciated the location. It is also good to see that the information we have provided to help guest during their stay was of help to yourself. In regards to the payment, Booking.com do not take payment from the guest, the card that was provided upon booking is held as guarantee to cover cancellation policies only. The procedure for us to follow means we have to directly take payment from the guest before conforming the booking. I can appreciate that this could have caused some inconvenience, hopefully for any future bookings, this would make the process less tedious with a bit of an explanation. We hope to welcome you back in the future, hoping the confusion is clarified above. Kind regards,

We stayed at HoF for a couple of weeks and generally we were somewhat pleased with the accommodation but would probably not stay there again if we had an alternative.
The rooms were small (as expected) and the bathroom was all full of mold. Communication from the hotel staff over email wasn't always very accurate with many of our questions not answered in their replies forcing us to repeat ourselves.
The wifi was semi okay at times but most of the time unbearably slow or fully down. I mean several seconds of ping responses and anywhere between 1%-20% packet loss with simple google searches lasting 5-15 minutes depending on how many times you had to retry it. Definitely not suitable for remote work at all.
West street seemed noisy with various alarms (burglar etc.) going off at times and teenagers hanging out in the streets shouting offenses to each other.
The location is quite nice for a business trip with Reading station just a short walk away. Also the Oracle shopping centre and Broad Street shops are just a stone throw away.

Response from Cristina L, Guest Relations Manager at City Wall House Aparthotel
Responded 8 Jan 2015
Dear MarkusSOulu, First of all, I would like to thank you for taking the time to express your feedback about your stay with House of Fisher at City Wall House. I am sorry to hear that we haven’t been able to live up to your expectations in this occasion. Please let me assure you that we take our guests’ feedback very seriously, and we are continuously working to improve your experience. As you may have noticed, the building is going through a refurbishment process that will help to improve our apartments. With regards to the communication issues between the Guest Services team and yourself, I am taking serious measures in order to ensure that a high level of service is kept. Should you have a few more minutes to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. My email address is Cristina@stayhof.com Finally, I would like to offer the option to consider staying at a different location next time you need to stop in Reading. We have other properties in the town centre, which may be more suitable for your needs (take 100 Kings Road for example, you will find a choice of Studios or Apartments with up to three bedrooms, with amenities such as Sky TV, AC or 24hr Reception, that offer accommodation in a more quiet area of the city but still just 5 minutes walking distance from the Train Station). I hope you will consider staying with us again in the future, in which case I would be happy to help you with the booking. Thank you for your attention. Best regards, Cristina

Being a customer location, I had to stay in Reading for 6 weeks between Jun and July 2014. I wanted to avoid a regular hotel and our hotel desk booked me into this apartment hotel. It is at the heart of Reading town center and access is one of the best aspects. If you are on your own, cooking your food and on a regular 8-9 hour working weekdays, then look back no further in Reading. All grocers are in 2 mins radius - Sainsbury, Tesco, Morrison local. If you escaping cooking a meal, all junkies and guilty pleasure eateries are within 5 mins walking - mcd, KFC, nando, buffalo grill, gregg's and many others. Station is 6-7 mins walk, and so are malls, vue cinema, Indian shop, forbury megastores area. The rooms have most of the utilities I had ever needed, spacious and overlooking the Main Street. I guess to prune costs, the management has opted for resource light model - evident from self check-ins, no reception, on-call support and elaborate user manuals. The hotel charges 2weeks of stay charges at one go and that too 4-5 days before check-in. That puts great strain on corporate credit card as office reimbursement cycles are slow. Also, while billing they make occasional mistakes and then adjustments follow. Wifi was irregular and sometimes there in as no signal at all.
Overall my long stay was nice. The hotel made up for the mistakes by letting me check-out early without charging any cancellation fee. I would definitely recommend this one.

I intended to spend two nights here but left after the first. There was SO MUCH noise, construction and machines drilling pavements, yes I could shut the windows but you couldn't because the room was so hot! And the only fan provided did not work. 3am some drunk clobbers were screaming on the streets, babies crying, I don't think I slept a minute. So then I asked to have the room changed due to the noise and utter heat where I had to constantly splash water on myself throughout the night. They said none was available but they could provide a really large fan. I said thank you and checked out of the hotel the next day. Just stay in a hotel.

"The rooms facing the street are noisy at night (all night!). These are the higher numbers x05 - x08, where x is the floor number (1 - 4). I expect the lower numbers on the other side would be quieter. After the first (somewhat disturbed) night I bought some cheap earplugs and that solved the problem"Read full review
