Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I'm not usually the type to write negative reviews but want to help others and wish I'd known this before booking. The big problem we had was the temperature of the room. It was incredibly hot 29+ degrees when we came in and rising to the high 30s. This sort of heat with nothing to cool you down is unbearable, and also so strange for a winter stay! It's a tiny room, and there is less than a foot of space around the bed, with a small walkway and toilet (with glass walls) so with two people it is quite cramped and stuffy. The rooms either don't have windows, or do but they don't open, so can't be used for temperature control. The thermostat/AC in the room only had the option to heat the room, or a "fan" setting which lightly blew warm air and didn't seem to go off. There was no cool setting at all. I really tried, even looked up the manual, but the system seemed to be preset this way. We went downstairs to ask for help with the room being so hot. The lady was kind, but explained that the thermostat is centrally controlled and that the cold setting had been removed for guests because it was winter. She said there was no way that they could change it at all, and there was no point in reporting it or escalating it because there was nothing the hotel staff could do as they didn't have access to the system. They suggested I contact Easyhotel customer services. She said we were not the only ones with this issue. The following day a staff member did offer us a small fan from their desk which was sweet, but there is no space around the bed or plug sockets to put the fan. (We ended up balancing it on my suitcase wedged down the side of the bed, not ideal but helped a bit) The room was a bit dusty, the bed isn't fab and a very small double, the pillows were very flat and sort of bumpy, and as mentioned, the room is very small. Honestly, these things wouldn't have been an issue if we could have cooled the room down. But, a combination of these things made it absolutely awful. It was so hot that we got dehydrated and ended up with nasty headaches, having to go for walks outside to cool down. We ended up checking out early and booking somewhere else to stay as it was making us poorly and unable to enjoy the things we had planned each day. We're unfussy, and normally get on with things. It really was bad. Staff were sympathetic but again, said nothing they could do, no other rooms available (and wouldn't have solved the issue apparently) and no offer of refund etc. If you're looking at booking I would say definitely bring an extension lead and a big fan if you can. Or, ring in advance to check if this A/C issue is still ongoing. I've heard nothing at all from easy hotel customer services since our stay, so I don't know what is happening with it.

Me and my partner we would like to say thank you for a great service for these hotel workers: Oana and Angelika. They were very professional and helpful, always smiling and great attitude. This is a good location, close to the centre of Reading. Good air conditioning. Close to the local shops and train station.

As expected really! The room was tiny and there was no space to move at all. Location was handy for the train station and there were a few places to eat nearby. There didn’t seem to be a lift so could be difficult with heavy luggage. The room was clean enough and had the basics, although the shower flooded into the bedroom. Hairdryer available to borrow from reception. Fine for a one night stay, especially for such a low price.

Nice, clean and comfortable room for someone to stay. It could provide a table and a chair. The facility has immediate access to Reading station and the town centre. The staff was helpful and especially Angelika was really nice, friendly, caring and eager to help anytime someone needs that. I would recommend easyhotel in Reading to anyone looking for a temporary accommodation in a highly accessible location and enjoys walks along the river Thames.

I have a chemical reaction from who they sublet there bed lining to of as they say could be Bed Mites / My hole face and cheek of face both sides and Neck have been bitten / so the chemical hasn’t been ruled out but bed Mites are 100% true the chemicals of the Blotches all over My face and poker dots are mites the burning sensation is the strong chemical is to hide it . The room was tiny but nice. It makes you laugh how they've fitted everything you need in to one room. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I had my stuff with me and that was not a problem at all. Angelica, I think that's her name, was very friendly and helpful and made my stay very pleasant so I stayed an extra night. Everything you need is just across the road.

Tiny room with no opening window. Lack of fire signs in corridor, so it would be very risky if there was smoke. I don't like the bathroom arrangements as no privacy and just a screen. It is really poor design. The room was very hot in the night. It was ok for one night but I would not repeat my visit. Staff are nice and the vending machine is handy.
