DONT EVER STAY THERE !!! I can honestly say it was the most disgusting place I have ever been to . The first room was the worst . The curtains were torn and grey the main curtains didn't pull across the window .The carpet was stained and sticky. The mattress was just pulled out of a skip and the bedding was so grey and stained it didn't look as if it had seen a washing machine. The second room was only slightly better. I really don't think that the management team had any hospitality experience because if they had there is no way those rooms would look like they did . Who ever owns this property should be ashamed .
I stayed for one night. The room was small but clean and the shower was good. The room wasn't very soundproof and I was woken up a couple of times. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all, it was decent value for money.
Quiet location=peaceful sleep. The staff were very softly spoken and patient. Variety for breakfast with choice of hot and cold + snacks included. Good supply of hot water. Shame that I went when they decided to do some repair and so it was noisey until 3pm.
Booked last minute. Was given a budget room. Didn’t now how bad this room would be room 306 toilet coming out off the wall soon as you sat on the toilet it was moving. Windows no sash to hold them up holes in the windows dirty bathroom. Broken headboard hit me on the head it just feel apart. Stains all over the carpets please see photos I could not believe the were allowed to rent this room when I contacted the manager I was told the room was up for refurbishment WHY RENT THIS……. I would never go back there wallpaper coming off the walls could not wash in the dirty room I could not wait till I got home to scrub my body.
The staff couldn't have been more helpful when me and my 4 filthy friends turned up on our bikes 1/2 way through the King Alfred Way. They offered us a room for the bikes and told us not to worry about the dirty bikes. A real treat, nice rooms, and great staff. What's not to like? So grateful to be so we'll treated, meant a lot many thanks!
If you want to spend the night in a hotel room that smells like an old ashtray, has an uncomfortable bed and you can hear other guest breathing then this is the place for you. Best Western seem to think that cheap can excuse anything and have allowed this hotel to go many years past the point at which it should have been totally refurbished. We won't be going back and I won't be recommending anyone stay here if they can avoid it.
I'm used to Premier Inn and they are amazing compared to this hotel. Standard rooms booked but we were moved to club for some reason, seperate building to the main hotel, awful room, too hot, noise from other contractor residents leaving for work at 5.45am, heavy footfall past window, noisey gravel carpark right outside window. We were in Reading for a 21st Birthday so this experience let us down.
Bizarre stay at this hotel. The room was unclean with old dust over the curtains. You can hear everything going on in the surrounding rooms. I heard a guy in the room above evacuating his bladder and sadly I could hear every detail and drip. I'm glad he wasn't horny last night. You could hear everything outside the building too. Sleeping wasn't going to be easy as a result, and this was made worse by the horrible bed and pillows. The TV was broken, there wasn't enough towels, and the room was tired. Good news is it was cheap. Sadly, not cheap enough to make up for all the issues.
My wife's birthday trip down south did not start well. Had booked two hotel rooms at Sure hotel which quite frankly were pretty dreadful. Both toilets had copious stains in them from previous occupants, both had numerous noticeable marks on the walls, coffee cups not cleaned properly, general air of lack of cleanliness in both. Worse was a microwave in our daughters room which had the inward side of the glass door broken, should somebody use this it should be considered a severe health hazard. I complained and were shown two separate upgraded rooms, these were better overall though though upon inspection all the toilets were still stained with one having fecal matter in. The nice enough receptionist stated that these were the best rooms shown. He did refund the cost and we have now found a lovely holiday Inn hotel out of town....a complete contrast at a similar price.…
Let me say from the start that I adore this hotel; it is excellent value for money to stay, the employees and management are hugely impressive, and the rooms are excellent for a two-star hotel. I have always received a fantastic welcome here, professional, efficient, and friendly service; always looking to go ‘that extra mile’ to assist you have a great stay. The rooms are particularly good for a two-star hotel; wonderfully comfortable and well-appointed together with being in good decorative order and clean. Most rooms benefit from a small kitchenette with microwave, kettle, refrigerator and sink ideal for preparing a quick snack. The bathrooms are always spotlessly clean and well maintained. The tv’s are large and the Wi-Fi excellent. Located in a suburb of Reading, with ample free parking and close to a bus route into the city centre as well as a range of local shops, pubs, take aways and restaurants.…
