I loved the history to this hotel and the charm of the building - it was a very memorable experience. The room was comfortable and the staff were very friendly. My only problem was my wifi worked for five minutes and then did not work at all for the rest of my stay - I tried phoning reception but my...

We stayed here for the night while picking family up. Pleasantly surprised as the our rooms were spotlessly clean and freshly painted which carried on throughout the hotel. Staff were really friendly. Breakfast was very impressive ,although one down point was that we were asked at the dining room door before being seated what hot food we would like. By...

First time at this hotel and I was not dissapointed at all.. The level of proessional care is outstanding by all the staff and managment. Lovely room with all you need for an enjoyable stay. The breakfast choice made my experience even better. If I could see one aspect of improvment it would be a lift installed

Helpful staff lovely clean hotel. No lift was the only problem. Stayed 3 nights would definitely revisit. Was supposed to be staying at the quality hotel but on the last minute they rang to say the hotel was shut but had moved us to the george a bonus for us .

This is the second time we stayed here. The first time was great but this time poor. We checked in on but when we arrived back at the hotel at 11 pm and wanted a drink, we were told the bar had just closed and to use the mini bar in our room. When we got to the room the...

A reasonably prized hotel. On the upside: you're about a 5 minute walk to everything there is to see or do in Reading centre. The breakfast was ok, and the inhouse pub cozy enough. The rooms (and the hotel itself) is quiet old. That goes for furnishing, TV, bathroom etc. But given the price you pay, it's still very much...

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel on the 9th December 2016. It does look very old from the outside, but it was quite nice within. The rooms are fine, no problem. The bathroom is very small. But unfortunately the beds were something else. Extremely uncomfortable, sagged in the middle, I haven't slept on something like this for many...

The receptionist was exceptionally helpful and friendly, and provided a disabled room so I didn't have to climb the stairs. It was a shame the barman was not so welcoming in his manner. The hotel is a marvellous old converted pub in the town centre, and the bedroom was up to standard.
