We stayed in the Amherst Guest House for one night and were very happy with it. The rooms are immaculately clean and well equipped. The en suite bathroom was equally as clean. The owners, Doug and Cath, were extremely friendly and accommodating. I would return if in Reading again.

I stayed there for 6 weeks in Feb/March 2012. The room (number 7) was quite big and very nice furnished. They cleaned the room every day and I have nothing to complain. Because my room was to the garden side, it was very quite all the time. There is a large road in front of the house but there is...

I stayed for a night midweek upon recommendation from a friend. Given its proximity to Reading Town Centre (a few minutes walk) and the availability of 'limited' parking (best to call in advance to ensure a space), it constitutes great value for the price. I did not try breakfast as I was eating elsewhere, but it smelled lovely. Maybe another...

Amhurst is a lovely B&b within 10mins walk of Reading town centre. Decent sized bedrooms, good ensuite and room facilities of tea/coffee/biscuits provided. Comfy beds and good breakfast. Might b worth bringing ear plugs as the road traffic is audible although it is not a main street so don't let it deter you in booking.

I booked this guesthouse I was arriving into Reading late and leaving early in the morning Doug and his wife were very accomodating and the room was lovely. It is a large semi-detached house which has been really well done out as a guest house. The sheets were crisp, the towels were fluffy and the room was warm. The internet...

This place was a treat. The full English breakfast was included. The rooms are clean and bright. The staff, Laura and Amanda, were wonderful. The mattresses were excellent. The location was quiet. Beware, the rooms are on the small side. This didn't matter to us as we were out touristing most of every day. We look forward to staying there...
