We met at this pub as a family of 8. We were seated in a lovely room with table set out so that we all sit round together. The food was excellent. Five of us had Sunday roast, generous portion of meat, roast potatoes, lovely creamy mash and the biggest Yorkshire puddings ever!! Our party also had meat pie of...

We visited this pub with our family today and didn't have a decent lunch between five of us. The 'Ribeye' steak was tough and nowhere near a ribeye and the cut was hard to identify. The fish and chips was served with fish coated in thick soggy batter and the chips were hard, possibly reheated from yesterday. The fish finger...

On a recent trip visiting family we went to The Cross Scythes for drinks and a meal. We had pre-booked a table, but on the night we visited this was not really necessary. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Food was good and we had no complaints, but it wasn't particularly cheap for what was essentially pub grub. There was...

This our second stay here but we forgot to leave a review last time. Second time just as lovely. Beautiful room with beams, very cosy and comfortable. (Last year we even had a balcony/terrace!) The £8 breakfast was delicious. We also ate in the restaurant the night before and the meal was lovely. The service throughout was exceptional - staff...

The food is nothing to shout about, especially when the bill arrives. Went on a Sunday evening for a quick bite to eat, had a couple of starters and mains with two drinks. It's still a pub and you should get change from £50. Far from it. The atmosphere isn't exactly buzzing and with the competition around the location I'm...

Having attended a funeral there we chose this venue for my aunts birthday meal. The quality is excellent however it was a poor show for a plough mans lunch- 2 slithers of tasteless cheese, 1 slither of pulled ham, 3 slithers of apple, 1 slice of crusty bread a scotch egg ( delicious) accompanied by a tablespoon of coleslaw and...

Been 4 times now with the Car Club. Never disappointed. Always welcomed and party of 1, 2 or 8 always treated with courtesy and a smile. The roads around this place are superb if you happen to drive a mid-engined super car, by the way🏁🏎💨🏁🎉🍾

The room and ensuite were clean well supplied with coffee and tea. Bed was comfy and we had the a balcony which was a bonus. Food in the evening and at lunch very good. Staff very helpful and responsive. Breakfast a little disappointing, only standard cereals on offer, I would have preferred some fruit. The cooked breakfast was ample. I...

We stay here on a regular basis while visiting family locally. It has four well-appointed and quiet rooms. It is essentially a pub-restaurant. Food is good, well served by some very lovely people from a bistro style menu with lots of choices. The bar is a well-favoured "local" in a typical Yorkshire style - bright, lively, friendly and inclusive. The...
