The Mercure Sheffield Parkway hotel garners commendation for its exceptional service, with staff members frequently described as welcoming and attentive. A relaxing atmosphere pervades the hotel, thanks to its clean, comfortable rooms and an array of convenient amenities.
Its strategic location near the motorway and central Sheffield, coupled with its suitability for local events, is a highlight for guests. Although the establishment is seen as providing good value, with some minor critiques regarding food pricing, overall, the hotel's cleanliness and room quality receive high marks from travelers, despite occasional noise and maintenance issues noted by some.

Great weekend stay here. Conveniently located close to the M1 and Meadowhall (needed for tram links into the city). Pristine, spacious, relaxing room. Well equipped room and bathroom. No disturbance/noise maybe a benefit of being on the top floor so no heavy feet on the ceiling.
Super breakfast, varied selection. Especially a hit were the WARM pastries. Miss was the fresh fruit; melon and apple in the fruit salad were very vinegary.
Impressed that all items were kept topped up right until end of breakfast service rather than running them down and making people make do. Aside from the fresh fruit, probably best breakfast have had in a long time.
Would return.

Dear Jane, Thank you so much for your fantastic review! We’re thrilled to hear that you had a great weekend stay with us and found our location convenient for your needs. It’s wonderful to know you enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of your room, particularly being on the top floor, as well as the overall comfort and amenities provided. We’re delighted you loved the breakfast, especially the warm pastries and the fact that everything was kept fully stocked throughout the service. However, we sincerely apologize for the issue with the fresh fruit. Your feedback about the fruit salad has been passed along to our kitchen team to ensure this is addressed, as we aim to maintain the highest quality across all offerings. It’s fantastic to hear that aside from that, you found our breakfast one of the best you’ve had in a long time! We hope to welcome you back soon for another relaxing stay, with an even better breakfast experience. Kind Regards Mohammad Tabish Alam

It has been 6 years since I was last here but glad to say it is still a nice and convenient place to stay. Shelby on reception was very welcoming and remembered me after such a long time away. Maddie in the bar and restaurant was very helpful and the food was fairly priced with specials on offer which is always welcome away from the standard menu. I will be returning the week after next based on this weeks experience :)

Arrived to a warm welcome from reception staff, I was swiftly checked in and given directions to my room. When I entered the room it was extremely clean, spacious and bright, the bed is massive and very comfortable, the bathroom was spotless and the shower was powerful and hot. I was in room 306 on the 3rd floor, the room was rear facing over looking the train freight depot - This is a very busy depot so can be noisy at times however, with the windows shut it was fine. At dinner most of the staff where great, there was one lady who seemed to be doing all the work, then now and again you'd see the other guy show up, the lady font of house seemed very happy in what she was doing, please give this lady a pat on the back or even a pay rise. I normally go for a Premier inn however after my stay this week i will start to look for Mercure hotels.
Finally, after a long day at work I'd always comeback to the hotel and my room had been made up with fresh towels and bed made, you don't normally get this at Prem inn. thanks, i look forward to my return.

Based on all the 5* reviews here, I must have been given the absolute worst room in the hotel this stay. I used to enjoy this hotel over the years but this year, sadly, it seemed rather rundown.
Check-in was fairly swift and the staff were very friendly at all hours. The hotel has one lift.
The room was a decent size but everything looked worn; there were stains on the carpet, the curtains header, and on both chairs. Even though the room was dimly lit, the massive cobwebs were quite apparent in several corners. The bed was comfortable enough and had non-feather pillows--great for allergy sufferers. There were nightstands at each bedside, but unfortunately, there were no power outlets at either nightstand--not good in this modern age where two people need to charge devices at bedside. A simple power hub on each nightstand would solve this issue. Nice that there was a mini fridge, electric tea kettle, iron, and ironing board.
Unfortunately, the bathroom reeked of mold. Didn't see any visible mold but the foul smell was overwhelming & spilled into the room when the bathroom door was left open. The shower (only) water pressure was outstanding, and the hot water stayed hot. The towels were large. The magnifying mirror was a nice addition, but the bathroom was dimly lit, rendering it not ideal for shaving or makeup.
The hotel WiFi was poor, kept dropping out, and was not password protected (boo!). The hotel has a large open-air parking lot.
I've liked this hotel in the past, but unless they improve in the areas noted above I'm not sure I'd care to return--at least not for more than a night.

Privilege room (103) was clean and spacious with a large comfortable bed and lovely modern bathroom but it was let down by poor maintenance and service. I specifically booked a Privilege room because it had air conditioning and a fridge but neither worked (I had to have the windows open as the room was very warm despite the air conditioning supposedly being on and the fridge was essentially just a cupboard with a light in it).
The soap dispenser and shower gel dispensers in the bathroom were both empty (the dispensers were also set up very strangely with the shower gel dispenser attached to the wall by the sink rather than in the shower).
On the morning of check out, I requested to check out 1 hour later at midday but was told there would be a flat fee of £10, so I didn’t bother. When I checked out, the Receptionist did not look up from his computer when he spoke to me, and he did not respond when I said goodbye as I was leaving. The blonde lady on Reception when I checked in late on 7 July was, however, lovely and very helpful/apologetic.
This hotel does not represent good value for money in its current condition.

Staff is quite polite and helpful, despite a few staff members being less so. Location is suitable for certain people, as this is based in an industrial estate that is being developed and about 15-20 minutes from Sheffield centre. Check in process is quick and wifi is surprisingly good. Rooms are large, with standard decoration but I feel the pieces of furniture are too large for the room or they should be moved around to get a better flow. Unsure why but my room's floor (like others in my team) was a bit wonky and the drawer was constantly opening up on its own (used a wooden spoon to wedge it and keep it closed). This is not as noisy as other hotels, but do try to avoid rooms by the lift. TV set wouldn't recognise a USB.... Bathroom is horrid, the tiles, the shower, the smell... anyhow. Breakfast was standard, powder coffee (you may pay extra if you want good coffee). Dinner was not bad, some yummy dishes like the chickpea curry and the burger.

We arrived to a very easy key collection because of the online checkin.
The hotel is clean when well maintained, the room was nice and the bed comfortable.
We were in town for a show (it seemed most of the guests were going to the same thing) unfortunately the show was on 5-9 and the hotel restaurant only serves food 6-9 so once everyone got back there was nothing to eat. The staff offered us sandwiches, all I can say was they were rubbish, 2 slices of bread and a slice of ham for £7.50ish is crazy even for a hotel, my wife had egg mayo which was the most bland thing ever, not even any seasoning on it.
The main problem with the stay and the reason for the low score was the noise in the room. None of us slept at all, because first of all something kept clicking on every hour for 5 minutes and humming loudly, it was like sleeping down the back of a freezer, then at 6am the sink in the bathroom started gurgling, then at 7am (on a Sunday) someone started using a pile driver outside and the room isn’t remotely sound proofed, it can’t even have double glazing for that to be so loud. Coupled with every noise in the corridor coming through, and Michael flatly practicing upstairs. It was a terrible nights sleep. The humming machine was the worst of them all though, the cluck on and off was loud too, so like clock work you were woken up at 30 minutes past every hour.
Breakfast was great!

Overall and okay stay was a handy location for a show
After a 4 hour journey checking in with reception was okay Went up to the room was disappointed curtains were dirty, black hairs on the bedding and bathroom smelt funny. Reported it to reception and was moved rooms straight away which was great but wasn’t ideal after a long journey and being 11pm at night.
Breakfast the next morning, nice selection of things but cooked breakfast items were all cold despite being under the hot plate.
Very noisy from outside with containers and freight train outside the window

We has a really bad experience and thankfully it was just a 1 night stay.
Parking is fine and check in easy but after that it was downhill.
We got to our room (No. 104) to find the door propped wide open with a towel.
When we went out for the evening we let the guy on reception know and he duly noted this down.
We came back later that night and were unable to get a restful night as the room was so warm and the heat controls weren't working - the dial actually came off in my hand.
This is likely to be why the door was propped open but we didn't figure that out at the time.
The tiled bathroom floor was coming apart and bits of the grout were coming away.
In the morning we had breakfast but wished we hadn't. Cooked breakfast was cold, scrambled egg totally inedible.
The lady on the front desk gave a completely pitiful response in the morning considering our gripes and we left saying we would never return. At least apologise for the hotel failings.

The hotel is in the middle of a business park which unfortunately means there is very little around it with no alternative places to eat. This initially didn’t worry us as we wanted easy access to the motorway. On our first night we decided to eat in the restaurant- big mistake HUGE. We ordered fish and chips and pork steak. The batter on the fish needed a chisel to break into it. The pork steak should have come with hassle back potatoes garlic and chilli broccoli and red cabbage. The pork was so over cooked it was like chewing on old rope, the hassle back potatoes weren’t - they were mash stuffed with cheese and the red cabbage was so acidic it was inedible. The broccoli was plain and not very warm. I sent the pork back and was offered something else. Every thing was unavailable so I opted for buttermilk chicken burger. When this eventually arrived it was so overcooked I could barely cut it. In fairness the restaurant manager dealt with the issue well and we only paid for drinks. However I was left hungry. There was a very large Christmas party that arrived after we had ordered and we were told there was only one chef in the kitchen who was young and not been with them long this is obviously very poor planning. Breakfast was ok on day one but on day 2 the peppers were slimy and starting to rot. Staff here are incredibly friendly and the Tom comfortable but please Mecure sort out staffing issues and get people up to the job in the kitchen.

Dear ne2one, I'm sorry to hear about the challenges you faced during your stay at the hotel - this is extremly disapointing to read. It sounds like the dining experience fell far short of expectations, and the issues with the food quality, unavailability of menu items, and staffing problems in the kitchen were truly disapointing. I understand how frustrating and inconvenient this must have been for you. Your feedback is crucial, and I genuinely apologise for the inconvenience and dissatisfaction caused during your visit. Your comments will be relayed to the Head Chef to address these concerns and work towards a better experience for future guests. Kind regards, Ben H

Hi there, I travel to Sheffield station and get a cab outside the station to the hotel which costs between £11 and £13 dependent on the traffic. Lots of cabs always.
