Stayed here for 2 nights. Room was filthy. Cigarette smoke smell and lots of cigarette ends on the outside of the window sill. Room carpets had crumbs and crisps all over it. Bathroom ok. The staff cleaned the room while I was there but only made the bed. First days breakfast ok, second days was terrible and looked like it...

Was very disappointed as soon as we arrived. Very run down all over. Couldnt see the TV picture but didn't want to stay in the room anyway. Bed creaked. Took forever to get hot water. On a positive note bedding and towels were very clean. Breakfast was adequate although cutlery and crockery wasn't clean. The hotel is in a good...

The Tontine hotel is very oldie worldie and yes could do with an update however I feel it would spoil the atmosphere of the place ,we were given the top floor (not good if you have disabilities as there is no lift) my word it was well worth walking up 3 flights, the view is wonderful virtually opposite the iron...

This was a return visit for us having stayed here some 10 years ago - maybe even longer. We had the same room - a family room at the top of the hotel and I am not sure it had changed that much in the time. Having said this, the rooms although old fashioned are clean and tidy and the...

Yes the Hotel could do with a refurbishment but what it lacks in terms of being tired decor wise it makes up for with its friendly and helpful staff. I've stayed in many 'corporate' hotels that could do with their staff learning a lesson or two from the Owner / Barman who both checked us in and was on duty...

I had tried to book a hotel in Ironbridge using several online sites and for some reason several of them tried to steer me towards hotels in Telford, which is six miles away. If you're looking to visit the eponymous bridge in Ironbridge there is no place closer than the Tontine Hotel. It sits facing the bridge dead-on. You cannot...

I've been to the Tontine three times between September and October, on each occasion the person serving me appeared as if they couldn't be bothered to get off their bar stool and go to the other side of the bar to serve me. I have never had a full pint (it's always pulled too quickly) and on one occasion I...

I had the misfortune to stay at your establishment last night. As I approached the hotel I thought how charming it looked, one step inside destroyed all the hopes I had for a happy family break. It's filthy and a fire hazard on an epic scale. - For example: Rubbish mounded up at the bottom of the stairs causing a...

We were expecting the pub to be crowded but it was completely empty when we went in Thought that it was closed. Fortunately we were served with good quality real ale. Didn't seem a particularly welcoming place. Very convenient for viewers of the bridge
