I had arranged for a group of eight of us to stay on a Sunday night for a catch up. We stayed in room 101 a small double small being to operative word ! Bed was comfortable and bathroom was good with a good shower. The only problems was the noise as being between two corridor doors a noisy junction and over the front where the cars entered so woken up at 6am by the bin men dragging the bins over the cobbles !! The rest of the party had no problems with their rooms. We ate in the hotel in the restaurant for evening meal and breakfast both of which were excellent food tasty and the staff friendly and efficient. Yes we would definitely stay again but in a different room.

Beautiful hotel and short walk from the town. Very cosy feel to the hotel, restaurant was lovely, food great and hotel staff very friendly. Checkin was easy, there's limited parking at £5 per night but there is another carpark to use not far. Our room was a king suite and huge, plenty of facilities, huge very comfy bed, good size closet with bathrobes and slippers. Tea and coffee making facilities, large TV, safe and mini fridge, comfy sofa and small table and 2 chairs. Room was warm and cosy. Bathroom came equipped with toiletries, large bath and a large walk in shower, water pressure was amazing. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a lovely night or two away..we were very impressed!

Dinner with family, food was good apart from one steak. Main issue, why oh why do you serve hot food on cold plates !!! My meal was cold within seconds of it arriving, it’s such a basic requirement and so easy to implement, the whole dining experience could have been so much better.

Booked Afternoon tea 24 hrs notice. Special Travel Zoo offer £32 for 2 people. Showed to a small ante room and put at table in a dark corner. Finger sandwich selection ? Poor fillings and crusts on the bread. 2 hard little scones ex frozen I would suggest. Patisserie an insult. A Mr Kipling tart cut into 2 halves and few little pieces of patisserie. Only decent thing were the 2 macaroons. Pot of tea ok but no service or follow up. Not a good experience. Left after 45 minutes for the 60 mile round trip

My friend and I met at the Feathers, me from North Wales, she from Somerset. We had booked a cosy double as it was the cheapest option and after seeing how cosy it was the lovely team allowed us to pay a supplement and moved into a twin. The rooms were spotless, the staff really lovely and so helpful, very patient with our 3 phonecalls with some basic questions. Highly recommend the breakfast too, very good value. We thoroughly enjoyed the setting, the cosy ambience and we felt quite spoilt. Cocktails needed several taste tests and I can conclude that they were utterly delicious and contributed to a bit of a headache.

Very old building with bags of character. Located within the old town and a short walk to castle. Parking on site for £5 a day. Stayed on a Travelzoo deal which included breakfast, which was excellent and £30 credit towards dinner. Dinner was very good although we did wait 40 minutes for our starters but that was unfortunate oversight by the staff who fave 2 glasses of presecco on the house

Hotel room was far too hot and had no temperature controls. Opening the sash window was difficult as the window just kept slipping down. This made sleeping at night really uncomfortable. We did complain, but nothing appeared to have been done. The towel rail in the bathroom was so hot you couldn’t touch it. There were no grab rails or slip mat in the bathroom either and nowhere to put your clothes while you showered. The evening menu was far too extreme - there was nothing straightforward on the menu if you just wanted something simple and all the dishes were really expensive although I must say that the waiting staff and reception staff were very good. I don’t know if the housekeeping staff have to do so many rooms in a given time, but one day I noticed that our shower and sink in our bathroom was not cleaned, nor the floor hoovered. Just the bed was made. All in all, a disappointing stay as Ludlow itself was lovely..…

Comfortable room and lots of towels, toiletries and a fan. Useful fridge and lots of in room tea & coffee. Didn't have breakfast but had a very good ( aka huge) afternoon tea. Very central to walking around the town amd within a 10 min walk to the station via the open carpark
