We stayed for 2 nights and must say it was not the most comfortable stay we have had. I prefer not to write a negative review but the Inn was not up to any standard. We were checked in by the bar staff and given a room which smelt like a fish and chip shop. We spoke to the bar...

We have heard many times how good the Sunday lunches are here, but hadn't been as you had to book, we booked for today and I'm happy to confirm that it is truly great. Really well cooked meal, includng stuffing, parsnip, lovely roasties. It comes with a nice bowl of mixed veg. We really enjoyed it and it's excellent value...

My partner and I visited today for lunch, we had visited several months ago for Sunday lunch which as I recall was lovely so decided to call again. Lady behind the bar was very friendly and helpful when I ordered at the bar. We had a burger and chips each with a side of onion rings. When the food arrived...

Went with my girlfriend for a lunch time meal, the food was great and also looked amazing! I had the bucks head burger and she had the portobello mushroom burger, I can honestly say I enjoyed every bite and so did the misses. Will be returning again for another meal soon.

Went for a family meal on a Sunday. I was not able to go, but my family went. It was such a shame as the vegetables were not cooked. When I last had meal there everything was spot on. This was only a couple of months ago. Such a shame. Will not be going again.

Nice big clean and comfy room. Unusually a large en-suite with a bath and shower. Tea, coffee etc provided. Private car park, our room was on the first floor facing the front, but there was no noise from the bar and surprisingly quiet even though we overlooked a main road. Breakfast was served in the bar which was very clean....

We stayed here for two nights. Room was comfortable, warm and quiet once the kitchen extractor fan finished for the evening. We appreciated being near the fire door as we could take the dog out without having yo go through the whole pub. Breakfast addition to the room cost. Plenty to set you up for the morning, especially if you...

When you stay anywhere for the night, the main thing is to sleep comfortably. Unfortunately, this pub's mattresses are in need of replacement. I had a single room which was in dire need of some tlc. The en-suite was pretty dire with a poor shower, mould and water pressure non existent. The corridor has doors that self close loudly which...

Had Sunday lunch here. A nice old pub that was very clean. The staff were nice as well. the beef sunday roast was home cooked and plenty. The gravy was very salty, such a shame. The veg did not need any more salt on them. Taste before you salt.

This Inn, and our room, are perfect for our summer visit to Shrewsbury. We have an ample room with two beds, a bath, and a sitting chair. This hotel has just as many amenities as the Prince Rupert where I stayed a few years ago. I prefer unique hotels over the chains. We have cookies for our tea, there is...
