Was seriously considering cancelling after reading some TripAdvisor reviews but so glad we didn't. Beautiful room with everything we needed, spotlessly clean, lovely welcoming staff and a gorgeous breakfast. Would happily stay again.

Absolutely fantastic find. From check in to check out and beyond can say nothing negative about this place. Lady who checked us in showed us all around. . Breakfast was so great. When we checked out we asked if we could leave bags, no problems. When we collected them later, had a lovely chat with lady who ran breakfast service....

From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were made to feel so welcome! being a large group of friends the staff were so accommodating and couldn't do enough to make our stay a perfect one. The hotel house was decorated so wonderfully! and the added touches of Christmas decorations made our stay so much more cosy. So clean...

Friendly and helpful staff on the phone. I thought the decor of the main house was quite luxurious. the breakfast was lovely and well presented but the service was slow. The only disappointment were the rooms across the patio/garden, having booked 3 rooms found them all to be very small, a bit claustrophobic, it was a tight squeeze walking around,...

We stayed the 26th October for our wedding anniversary. We stayed in what we believe w a s the biggest room in the hotel. We overlooked the garden and it was lovely and quiet. We arrived a little earlier than we had stated but that was no problem and the staff were very friendly and made us very welcome. Room...

We found this ‘bed and breakfast’ so unsatisfactory it is difficult to know where to begin. I should have been alerted early in my contact with Darwin’s House. The web-site has a tab for enquiries. I enquired about room availability and received no response. A chaser was also ignored. Stupidly, I booked through the web-site using the booking tab without...

I 'ran' away from home having had a family bust up, landed here for the night at short notice. What a superb find. Check in was excellent, really knowledgable young lady helpful and keen to please. Room was absolutely beautiful. Stunning. Amazing bed, lovely facilities, I honestly cannot praise enough without being boring. Loved the honesty bar, pretty cosy little...

We stayed in the main building and had a room at the front overlooking the side street, it was quiet and we didn't notice any noise from the nearby pub. Check-in was efficient with everything explained, wi-fi worked fine, the room was wonderful, clean, well equipped with modern fittings. I couldn't think of anyway to improve on it. Breakfast was...

Had a wonderful night here for our wedding anniversary. Fascinating wallpapers and wonderful light fittings. Public spaces have comfy chairs and astonishing objet d'arts relating to `Charles Darwin. Staff are very pleasant and helpful and the breakfast is also very good. Altogether a great place to stay in Shrewsbury.
