When we arrived we were hungry so ordered lunch, steak and ale pie and it is one of the best I have had, it was brought out quickly and was Definitely a place we will revisit. The town itself is stunning and we were originally feeling like a trip to Wales but because of Covid restrictions we couldn't. We are so glad we couldn't because we want to explore more of this beautiful area in the future. Well done all it was a lovely experience.

The room had been recently renovated to a very high standard. It was clean, cosy with a very comfortable bed, good facilities, lovely bed linen, towels and toiletries. There was a television in the room with access to Netflix and the internet. The staff also make this a great place to stay, friendly and welcoming, they cannot do enough to help you, really make you feel at home. It is extremely reasonable to stay here especially as it is within easy walking distance of the town centre. It serves lovely food, good value for money with generous portions, especially the Sunday lunch. I have already recommended The Old Bell to family and friends to stay in when they visit Shrewsbury.

A lovely surprise here at how well the hotel side of things are run. Had a lovely room, the staff were very helpful and professional. The pub serves food too on this trip I did not eat but would have had my stay been longer. I would not hesitate to revisit if I am ever in the area again.

We always try to stop here, and have done for many years. What more could you ask for with the extremely reasonable price they charge, parking, breakfast and clean modern rooms including Netflix to watch on a big TV. Fluffy big towels toiletries and a fab shower (finally ha ha). Stopped in room 3..there was only a couple of niggles but I spoke with Simon about needing a dressing table for us ladies. Maybe one side light as I needed to find something in the night and it's full lights or no lights which woke my partner up where as a small bedside light wouldnt of been so bright. But that's no reflection on our stay we was accommodated fabulously. The team all work so hard and it shows, it's a great pub with a lovely atmosphere and even with the new guidelines it works well and still feel safe.
