We do not often write reviews but the experience was so different to another B&B (in Knowstone, Devon) that we felt compelled to write and thank our host. From the excellent homemade cake (she said it was the best she had eaten!) and tea on arrival to the excellent breakfast the next morning . I particularly liked the sausage which was full of flavour and was a class sausage unlike a lot we have had at various establishments. The bedroom was clean and tidy with good quality linen and a nice shower. If I was being exceptionally picky I would suggest changing a couple of double sockets to ones with USB ports. ( I mention this as a suggestion to Louise.) Overall it was an excellent place to stay and we would have no hesitation in booking again. Alan & Colleen
The two stand out attractions of the Anton house B&B is the warm and friendly welcome from the owner, Louise and the wonderful breakfast. Great location, just a ten minute walk from the beautiful town of Shrewsbury and Shrewsbury abbey, which is well worth a visit. All very clean, lovely comfy bed and bedding and all the facilities you could ask for. Well recommend by us if your looking for a well run and friendly b&b.
We rang up as I made a mistake booking somewhere outside Shrewsbury Louise was very accommodating and waited for us to arrive Louise was very welcoming and understanding The room was at the top of the property and very cosy and lovely Everything was great. There was toiletries to use, biscuits with the tea and coffee making facilities, also chocolates included and theses were replenished every day we stayed Breakfast was superb, well cooked and presented Louise was very knowledgeable about the area and even suggested places we may enjoy and we did Nothing was too much trouble If your reading this review then don't book you will have missed out on staying in an excellent bed and breakfast David and Tracy Fox
Just had a 2 night break in Shrewsbury. Stayed in the Anton b&b. Lovely little place about 10 minutes walk into the centre. Rooms nice and clean. Lovely shower and bathroom. Comfy beds nice fluffy towels. The host louise was really pleasant and knowledgeable. Free bottled water. And homemade cake. A nice touch. Breakfast was lovely and piping hot. A wide range of breakfast items. Would definitely stay again. 👍
Great place to stay. With breakfast this good you won’t need lunch. Bed comfy and everything has been thought of. Short stroll into the town. Within easy reach of beautiful walking country. Such a friendly and welcoming host.
We stayed at Anton House for one night and had a lovely time. Louise is a friendly, generous host and nothing was too much trouble. I had booked a twin room which was nice but had windows in the eaves so I couldn't look out. Louise had said that we could have a double room if we wanted to. We moved into a lovely room with a king size bed and two easy chairs. The tea tray was excellent with lindt chocolates, nice biscuits and every type of hot drinks you could think of. We could help ourselves to fresh milk, home made coffee cake and bottled water in the breakfast room. The choice of breakfast was incredible. From the full Shropshire breakfast, eggs Benedict, salmon royal and camembert with Gloucestershire old spot bacon and field mushrooms. Delicious, hot and we'll presented. I would stay here again next time we're in Shrewsbury which hopefully will be next year.…
Just spent a long weekend at Anton Guest House...such a beautiful old house, owned by such a lovely friendly lady, Louise. The room was immaculate, with spotlessly clean bedding, and the breakfast was amazing...She even home baked cakes, for guests to help themseves to Louise was a mine of info...and ideas where to go-- depending on the weather. We would recommend Anton Guest House with any hesitation.....
Had an excellent stay at this lovely BB. The host was a gem advising us on the locality and what it had to offer. Hotel was a short walk into the old town. Breakfast which was much anticipated after reading other reviews did not disappoint.
Have just returned from a lovely few days staying at Anton. We had a lovely cosy Attic room with a large comfortable bed and views of the town centre. The Guest House is just 10 minutes or so walk from the town centre and only meters from the nearest bus stop. We felt really welcome and breakfast was brilliant, cannot fault a thing and would definitely recommend a stay here. Even provide bathrobes and slippers. I would note that the stairs are quite steep, so the attic rooms are best for the more sprightly.
Great stay, Friendly welcome, lovely room with everything you need including robes and slippers, super bathroom Fabulous breakfast. The position is fantastic for visiting everything in Shrewsbury, we walked everywhere in the city
