The Queensberry Hotel garners accolades for its cleanliness and spaciousness, with guests often highlighting the immaculate rooms and bathrooms. Its decor strikes a chord, blending traditional and modern elements that many find stunning. While the service is generally praised for its attentiveness, some guests note the absence of in-room coffee and rigid breakfast timings.
The hotel's location is a hit for exploring Bath, offering a peaceful yet convenient setting. Room comfort is well-regarded, though the lack of certain amenities draws mixed reviews on value.

This hotel should be capable of consistently achieving five star reviews, but despite many very good features (location, rooms, valet parking, cleanliness, lounge) my stay was tarnished by a couple of things which really irritated: - my arrival experience was awful. It should have been so positive, it turned out somebody was going to park my car, help with my luggage and offer me a coffee whilst I checked in and the room was available early. Instead, there was a flurry of staff activity around me (no other guests) as I struggled with my luggage up the reception steps and I was steered to the lounge without any communication of any of the above positives. - rethink your way of handling breakfast bookings. Instead, just say that it’s likely to be busier later. Telling me I can’t have breakfast at 9 and have to choose between 845 or 915 is a ridiculous approach. If you insist on it, at least coach your reception staff into communication with some charm. - the allocation of £25 credit towards breakfast was just strange. Surely there’s a better way of doing this. Again if you’re paying £300+ for a room, either include breakfast or don’t, don’t make people have to price up their options. - lack of kettle or nespresso machine in the room really jars with the rest of the hotel quality. - revisit your Covid era policies: odd pre-departure letter re only leaving when reception’s not too busy. “We might ask you to stay in your room to avoid congestion”. Hotels the world over see a rush of activity around checkout time, but this was a first. - please don’t continue to call me Mrs immediately after I’ve asked you not to.
The room was really very nice and the fruit platter was exceptionally well presented.

Such a beautiful hotel! We have stayed here a few nights recently, all to do with our wedding. Firstly, we had a small legal ceremony at a registry office and wanted to celebrate that so the two of us booked that night at the Queensberry. We booked a superior room and arrived in the stunning room to a lovely handwritten congratulations note, with some bubbles and chocolates, such a lovely gesture! We then had our main wedding in a nearby village a couple of weeks later and the hotel was the base of our activity. I stayed with my bridesmaids the night before, we had the two suites and two superior suites and they were all stunning!! The decor throughout the hotel is perfect, but for me the main hitters are the bathrooms, just absolutely gorgeous. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful, breakfast was delicious and I would stay here every weekend if I could! 100% recommend.

A wonderful experience! We spent 3 nights at The Queensberry Hotel in a deluxe room on a mother/daughter trip to Bath and I cannot say enough good things about our stay! The staff were all incredibly lovely and attentive. The room and bathroom were so spacious (like, so so spacious), clean, and comfortable. The whole hotel was decorated fabulously. It was so fun to just walk around and see the whimsical and quirky design that still paid homage to the historic building. It is exactly what you want in a boutique hotel. The Queensberry is perfectly located on a quiet street just steps to The Circus and the Royal Crescent and a 5-min walk to the center of town. We didn’t get to try the food at The Olive Tree but the menu looked excellent. Thank you, Queensberry, for a wonderful stay! I hope we get to return!

This was a nice boutique hotel within walking distance of the city centre. It’s on the small side and the first thing you notice is the amount of stairs that seem to stretch to every nook and cranny of the building. There is a small lift available that is a god send for anyone that struggles with copious amounts of steps to get to your room. The rooms themselves are tastefully decorated with a mix of traditional and modern decor we had booked a deluxe double for our 2 night stay. We intended to visit the Michelin star restaurant based in the hotel on one of our nights. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful to assist us in our check in process. We paid £714 for the Fri/Sat evening and this did not include a breakfast. I did think it was a bit pricey but we wanted to be able to easily access the restaurant and the city during the stay and at the time I was unable to book a single Sat night stay at the hotel and had to book 2 nights. Now I do have a bit of a gripe with this hotel for the way they hit you for extra costs that people should be aware of. If you try and cancel your booking well in advance of your stay they charge you the cost of the first night stay in my case it would have been over £300. They charge £25 per night for valet parking as there is no parking available at the hotel. Our final bill had a 5% discretionary service charge for hotel staff that I thought was a bit cheeky! We had this removed and do hope that other hotels don’t start going down this route of charging for service as most people are too embarrassed to ask for it to be taken off the bill and just pay it. Add it to your room rates so we can see up front the costs!! Add to this the fact that room had no air conditioning although a fan was provided. No tea and coffee making facilities with stations dotted around the hotel and rooms lacking in shelving storage I did feel that the hotel was lacking in value for money for our £800 final bill for a two night stay so did only mark it with 3 stars.

This is a good hotel with lovely rooms and attentive staff. Our experience was spoiled by a really poor breakfast. This is served in the Michelin-starred restaurant below the hotel which makes it all the more surprising - poor quality coffee and fruit juice as often the tell tale signs. One of us had an ok cooked breakfast but a cold plate of cheese and charcuterie was desperately disappointing. I recognise that, from the management point of view, complaining in a review without having done so in person is irritating: but debating the merits of a meal when leaving a hotel simply makes the experience worse.
One final minor complaint: the bill presented included an optional 5% service charge added on. This forces customers to refuse to pay it, which makes them feel mean - but it isn't the way hotel bills are calculated in the UK. It is common to leave a tip for the room cleaning staff for longer stays, but the room rate is the room rate. We shouldn't be made to feel bad for not paying a service charge.

The hotel itself is beautiful but is lacking in atmosphere and warmth. There are a few key things missing from the room that would have made our stay more comfortable. There is no tea or coffee facilities in your room which in fairness is mentioned on the website. There is a tea coffee station on the second floor but it is an inconvenience climbing stairs with hot drinks and I had to get dressed in the morning to go and get coffee. There is no iron in the room , the staff did bring one up promptly but I would honestly prefer to just have it there There is also no fridge which I would have liked to keep water cold. I would also suggest putting shampoo in the bathroom instead of hair and body wash. The dispensers even though environmentally friendly are difficult to use. Breakfast has to be booked in advance which I really didn't like as I would prefer a more relaxed morning when on holiday and not be held to a schedule. No breakfast buffet is provided and I think the bed and breakfast package should not have a price cap as there is not that much choice on the menu and it is an extra hassle to think about.
Also the free gift which I believe was mentioned when booking did not appear during our stay.
Overall there are alot of positives about the hotel and the staff in the breakfast room were very efficient and professional but the extra level of convenience and comfort you expect from a hotel of this level is just not there.

From check in to check out the service was impeccable. We booked a single night bed and breakfast with parking. No sooner had we pulled up outside than the general manger had come out to greet us, take out lug and car keys.
We sat in the lounge and had a coffee (which is free all day along with tea) while we checked in which was merely to sign our checking in sheet and give our car registration number. By the time we had finished our coffee our baggage was in the room.
Our room was upgraded to a master deluxe and was room 26 which is the newest section of the hotel. The bedroom and bathroom our decorated to the highest standard and the quality of fittings and finishes is top notch. Room service was very quick and nothing was too much bother, whether it was an ice bucket or iron and ironing board. My only niggle would have been with the shower. in what is otherwise a beautifully appoint bathroom, is of the open time with no door and there is no way to avoid flooding the floor even if it was only a 5 minute shower.
The bedroom is spacious with plenty of storage and shelf space and even though as is with standard with Bath the windows are single glazed sash windows thankfully the street is very quiet and we both had a wonderful night’s sleep.
Your breakfast slot is booked the night before so as to avoid everybody turning up at the same time. The selection of cooked, cereal, porridge, fruit, toast, teas and coffee were faultless, great start to the day.
All in all, a wonderful experience and it is obvious that the senior staff are very very good and that their experience on what customers expect has been passed on. We can't wait to return and will make sure our stay longer the next time.

We visited this hotel on a Voyage Privé offer, and we weren’t disappointed! Our room was spacious and decorated in restful colours, I loved the fact that there was a large, walk in cupboard with loads of storage space so that the suitcase and all our bits and pieces could be out of sight! The room had all the essentials for a relaxing stay - comfortable seating, roomy bathroom, good shower, large fluffy towels and the housekeeping was excellent. Breakfasts were served in the Olive Tree restaurant and were really good - all the cooked items we had were beautifully cooked and presented and the fresh, hot sourdough toast was wonderful, so was the home made granola and yoghurt. We received excellent service and the valet parking worked well. Great place to stay for a city break, perfectly situated to see the sights.

Lovely rooms and lovely staff. Valet parking was available (at a price) and it was great to have your luggage already placed in the car when it was returned. No coffee or tea making facilities in the room but both available freely in nearby lounge.

Sorry this is a bit late following a January stay. We originally booked a one-night Gourmet Getaway, but later added an extra night from a ‘Black Friday’ deal - I’m glad we did. It’s always worth booking direct via the hotel website to pick up this sort of thing, and it allows us to do extra visits in addition to significant life events, which we routinely celebrate here, such as anniversaries (we got engaged at the Queensberry). On this occasion, we were lucky enough to be upgraded because a Junior Suite was available. This was particularly good as it was a room we hadn’t stayed in before (we’ve been in most) and it was beautiful.
The staff members, as ever, were brilliant. Perfect balance of formal courtesy and friendliness, and they were always attentive - for example, apart from packing/unpacking we didn’t touch our bags between us opening the car boot on arrival and closing it on departure. A stay in the Queensberry and an evening in the Olive Tree has to be a perfect combination. We look forward to the next time.

yes, my room had a safe so I assume all rooms do since it's a boutique hotel with very few rooms. it's also incredibly private and safe in general. on a street just minutes away from everything and yet very quiet and lovely.
Dear Charlotte,
We offer valet parking at a cost of £14 per night. When you arrive, double park in front of the hotel with you warnings on and we will come to help you with bags and take care of the car.
