I thought about giving a 4 star rating because the location involves a very steep hill from the town centre and buses stop abruptly at 8.30pm. However, this does not do the hotel justice - taxis are inexpensive locally so this becomes a minor problem in the greater scale of things. Instead I have given 5 stars because this is...

We had a wonderful long weekend in The Lansdown Grove again. The staff remembered us and made us extremely welcome. Franck on reception was delightful and very helpful. Our room was very spacious as was the bathroom and both were incredibly clean. The restaurant staff were excellent and Agneta and Ragmond were marvellous. Hats off to the chef who cooked...

Stayed in the hotel during our road-trip across the uk. The hotel is situated perhaps on a hillside that we could actually see the view downwards to the town centre and it's very amusing. I and my brother stayed in a twin room. The room itself is very spacious. Not to mention the bathroom. The bathroom in my room is...

Hotel has very small lift (3 people only at a time), but stairs seem to be everywhere, some up some down, so not particularly suitable for those a little less nimble. In my single room the heating was not working, but they had provided a small oil heater, which by the time I left made the room warm. Wardrobe was...

we had a lovey time at this hotel on a New Year Break with Shearings. I had asked for a front facing room and paid for an upgrade with Shearings and we got a lovely room looking to the front of the hotel. There was also a bowl of fruit, a miniature Bells whisky for the man and a small...

We had a lovely stay at this hotel after a few problems had been sorted out. Upon arrival, our room had no central heating but when we mentioned this to reception, we were moved to another room that had heating as soon as it was available. Apparently a new pump was required for the heating system in that part of...
