We had a lovely stay at this hotel after a few problems had been sorted out. Upon arrival, our room had no central heating but when we mentioned this to reception, we were moved to another room that had heating as soon as it was available. Apparently a new pump was required for the heating system in that part of...

Lovely old hotel, well worth a stay. Good quality meals, rooms clean with nice toiletries in bathrooms. All staff friendly and helpful. The hotel is at the top of a very steep hill, but don't despair. There is a bus stop 30 yards away where you can catch the number 31 Bus and Ride into Bath city center. For the...

I thought I'd found a secret floor when the lift opened on the 3rd floor. Felt like noone had been that high for years. The difference between the ground and 3rd floor was major. 3rd was very run down. The rest of the hotel was good, nice bar and restaurant.

This struck me as the sort of hotel favoured by elderly guests on coach tours. We are in our 50s but we're by far the youngest couple at breakfast! This is not a criticism, other than it means the hotel is stuck in a time warp with dated and tired decor. Our room was clean but nothing special. Service was...
