The positives about the hotel: Comfortable bed and duvet/pillows, Excellent breakfast with pleasant waiting staff. Situated right next to the station and all of the shops/attractions. The negatives: Would not choose to stay at this hotel again. It was extremely noisy, I realise that it is a city centre hotel but effective double glazing would help, the d/g unit in... More

Stayed for a visit to the Christmas Market. This hotel was so pleasant to spend time in...very traditional and well run family hotel.I had a single room which was warm, clean and with plenty of space.Situated only 50 yards from the rail station(but very quiet) it is a short walk from the Pump Room and the Abbey (passing some very nice Shops!)

Royal hotel is situated right by the station. Only downside is no parking but there is a car park nearby if not too busy. Efficient and friendly staff. Small but clean and comfortable room. Food excellent. Really good break.

I am a little late in posting this. I spent two nights at the Royal Hotel. The hotel was conveniently located by the train station and a short walk to the historic center. The staff in the hotel and restaurant were exceptionally friendly and very helpful when I needed assistance. My room was small being only one person, but nicely... More

We stayed in this hotel before and had a good time. This time we had a great time! The big drawback last time was the unreliable wifi, which has now been fixed. Our room was a better room, small but convenient and beautifully furnished with all we could need, including a cafetiere with ground coffee. The hotel is right opposite... More

Just on our way home now! After an absolutely outstanding stay at the Royal! Yet again. Cannot recommend the hotel highly enough, all staff are fantastic, polite, helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The value for money is exceptional!!!! Couldn't be in a better location if arriving by train. We had both evening meals and breakfasts in the Brasserie Brunel... More

Booked hotel as closest to station and as single, female traveller didn't want to have to get taxi. Outside appearance quite drab but once inside was nicely presented. Very pleasant receptionist, booked in easily and ventured in to small lift to room 302. I had requested room on front of hotel with shower and this is what I was given.... More

Have just spent four nights at the Royal Hotel which was a great choice for a visit to Bath. Pretty central - right opposite the railway station and a short walk to the Abbey and Roman Baths. There were no superior rooms available but the room we had - a twin overlooking the station - was very comfortable with great... More

Old hotel with limited facilities including only 6 parking spaces. The room (311) looked tired but was sufficient for one night. Arrived early but wasn't allowed into the room until 1430hrs. The room was draughty from the old window. The bed was comfortable enough. The shower was just about adequate , not much water pressure. Breakfast was good although slightly... More

Thank you for your review following your recent stay with us. I regret that you felt that room 311 “looked tired” as it has only recently been redecorated and refurbished. I appreciate, of course, that the decor may not have been to your liking however we do endeavour to decorate our rooms in keeping with this Grade II listed building... More

The hotel is literally across the road from Bath Spa railway station. I know it's almost Christmas and you'd expect a bit "extra" but there's so much more to this grade II listed building than you would imagine for the price. I've stayed in much costlier hotels and not had a free bottle of mineral water at my bedside for... More
