A fantastic hotel with character. From the moment that I booked my rooms over the phone right up until our departure I couldn't fault it. All the staff we came across were very accomodating and friendly and the hotel itself had a homely feel. Great selection at breakfast

A lovely hotel with character! Lovely location, 2 minutes walk to the city center and main objects of interest in bath - the thermals, along with historical Roman baths. Stayed in the small double for two nights and enjoyed it very much! Room was clean and cosy, with everything

Many thanks for your review and for awarding us 5 stars following your two night stay at The Royal. I am delighted that you and your wife enjoyed the quality of the food and that you found our staff to be “lovely” and “helpful” – as they should be, of course! We are enormously proud of the job all our staff do and it gives me great pleasure to read that this is appreciated by our customers. I am equally pleased to note that your stay with us contributed to a very satisfying visit to Bath. We look forward to seeing you on future occasions. Mike MacDermid General Manager

What a gem. We were a group of 5, meeting up for a nostalgic 3 day visit to Bath. All the hotel staff were fantastic... so helpful and friendly. The rooms were lovely.....quite old fashioned but really comfortable....and such a change from the clinical modern hotel rooms. Lots

There are none attached to the Hotel, but a public car park is not far as I understand it. I have only ever travelled there by train as it is directly opposite Bath Spa Station.

Yes it does but all the time we were there it was not working. They did carry our bags up and back again. A vague offer of a room change was made but we did not push it but that was before we saw the stairs. If offered a room change when there is no lift I would advise a room change if you are on the top floor as these stairs are not like normal stairs more like light house stairs.

There is limited parking but you must call to reserve a spot. Train arrives directly across the street if you can't book the car park.
