Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights to visit the beautiful city of Bath. We found the accommodation, clean, comfortable, warm, and then a great location to tour the sites. The staff were very accommodating and the price was right. We would stay here again were we ever to return to this beautiful city.

Clayton was especially helpful and went out of his way to show us tour options, places to see, how to get there on train / busses. Room was clean and comfortable. Bath itself is a great walking town full of amazing history, architecture and quality cafes, pubs. River walk, Abbey tour, surrounding hills n architecture and of course, the Roman Bath, all need to see! Again, hats off to Clayton Moon. All in all, terrific time in Bath.

We had a twin private room on the right side of the building (the side nearest Walcot st.) the dorms seem to be on the other side of the building . We were there on carnival night a Saturday and I didn't hear any noise ! Free breakfast on Sunday am was sliced pan bread/toast and cereal , but great strong good coffee. Nice benches outside. Shared toilets/showers basic and old but functional and never busy. Wardrobe in the room, clean white sheets, desk lamps . Only one socket located behind a headboard. Fabulous location for city centre / baths / historical area. Restaurants nearby, Waitrose nearby. Great location.

I stayed here for two nights in a five bedded room with four freinds .sadly it was very noisy mainly due to a flat roof been right outside our window which seemed to be the home to lots of seagulls and pigeons which made a lot of noise . The staff at the hoatel were so helpful we managed to hire a fan because it wS so warm in the room . At the weekend there is a free breakfast and the coffee was fantastic. For the money paid this is a real good choice and so central in Bath

The rooms where clean and tidy and the comunal areas where clean, we were a group of 130 adults and kids on tour to Bath, The showers and toilets where not enough for the amount of people that can be accommodated and where poor, the breakfast was absolutely dreadful, not even warm, most of us had to go McDonald's because it was really inedible

I recently stayed over at the YMCA Bath, while on a solo business trip. It ŵas wonderful, the hotel was clean and comfortable (free WiFi) and the Host, a chap named Clayton was so charming, helpful and friendly. He made my stay really great. I would fully recommend the YMCA Bath to anyone looking for a nice place to stay.

I had an awful stay it was very noisy didn't get to sleep till gone 4am and then woken up by 7am. You could hear everyone coming and going could hear all the pipes creaking and could hear all running water. They sent a message saying breakfast was included in my stay then was disappointed when they said they only do it on Sundays. Shared bathroom was OK but I feel like there should be more privacy in the toilets, I mean do you really want to hear someone taking a number 2 while you're washing. In the men's there was oy one toilet and tissue all over the floor. Would have been nice if they had a kettle in the room.
