Harington's Hotel delights many with its clean, comfortable rooms and modern bathrooms, all wrapped in a charming and quirky atmosphere. Nestled in a central location, it's an ideal base for exploring Bath, earning praise for its proximity to local attractions. The friendly staff and excellent breakfast service are frequently highlighted, contributing to the hotel's reputation for good value. We had a great stay at the Harington hotel. It is in a great location right in the centre with a gin bar opposite (which was great for us) and is in walking distance of all of the restaurants, bars and sights including the river, Bath abbey, Roman baths and Victoria Park.
Hotel itself was very clean, had a nice lobby/ bar area and nice breakfast area. The breakfast was really nice, lots of options and good quality, could have as many things as you wanted including good coffee and loose leaf tea.
We were in the cheapest room which was at the top of the hotel, it was 3 flights of stairs but that didn’t bother us. The room wasn’t massive but big enough for what we needed, and we loved the quality of the toiletries etc. The wifi wasn’t very good and the tv in the bedroom is small but this wasn’t a big deal. You do have to park about a 10 minute walk away and it was £15 for 24 hours but you do expect this with it being a city centre hotel. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend and stay again.

My fiancé and I should have gotten married this weekend but due to COVID we cancelled so took a trip to Bath and booked this hotel. Excellent location and nice hotel. It was well decorated and I loved the butterfly wallpaper. The bathroom was well decorated and had great facilities. However the bathroom was cold as the radiator did not work and the shower head kept slipping down and would not secure itself up so had to kneel down to shower.

I was a little disappointed with the cost of the room not living up to my expectation. The room was a lot smaller than what was portrayed in images on booking.com and on the website. I’m unsure how this room could be classed as a Superior Double. Although the room was suitable, I did expect a lot more space and facilities for paying this extra price. Perhaps offering a fridge, range of soft drinks/biscuits and some sort of included breakfast whether it be continental. We chose not to have breakfast at the hotel costing £14.50 per person per day was overpriced when the cafe next door offered an English breakfast for £9.50.

Additionally, the process to gain the parking permit was not ideal. There is nowhere to park outside the hotel due to the new road closures for social distancing. I had to park up on a high street so my partner could run through Bath to find the hotel to source the permit. I would suggest giving the car park postcode out for those travelling and sending a member of the hotel staff to the car park to give the permit.

Overall, the hotel was good. The staff were friendly and it felt COVID safe. The hotel is in an ideal location for tourists and central to great eateries, attractions and shops.

Dear Stuart Thank you so much for your lovely review and kind words. I was delighted to see you enjoyed your stay overall. Its a shame you didn't book directly with the hotel as we always have the best prices and you also get breakfast included in your stay when booking direct. I'm confused by your comments about not being able to park outside the hotel, all guests can pull up outside the hotel to pop their bags in and we then give them the permit for the car park. There is a road that the council have closed off during the day but you can still get directly to our front door by car. I have also checked your rooms towel rail and it is working it was just turned down on the thermostat. I hope you are able to come back and stay with us again soon Stuart. Best Wishes Peter

Stayed here for one night while visiting on a city break, the location is perfect as it’s close to all the usual tourist attractions so easy to walk everywhere.
The room we had (room 9) was nicely decorated with a lovely shower room, really nice toiletries to use too and there was complementary drinking water. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely with plenty to choose from.
There is an honesty bar which we didn’t use but is a nice thing to have available.
If we were to return to Bath would definitely consider staying here again.

When we arrived at the hotel all the staff were very helpful and the room was beautifully decorated and looked reasonably well kept. The duvet had quite a few dog hairs on it and the fitted sheet did not actually fit the bed however I didn’t realise this till later on in the evening so I did not call reception to sort this as it was late at night.

At breakfast the food was lovely however our toast came in a purple plastic bowl which I have never experienced before and hope I wouldn’t experience again! This seems like it was normal as every other table had the same however this is a very bizarre concept.

There doesn’t seem to be any changes in regards to coronavirus. The staff did not wear any sort of PPE. This became more of an issue at breakfast as the staff were leaning over ,which obviously they had to serve the food, however it felt rather unsafe and we weren’t asked whether that was okay. Maybe a serving table would be more appropriate or wearing suitable PPE. On the website they were promoting that they were doing everything they could to show they were making changes however I did not see any of these changes implemented especially when it comes to staff and breakfast.

I work within the hospitality sector and I realise that each company can do what they need to do to feel safe however it didn’t even seem like coronavirus existed in this hotel or that they were doing anything in particular to enforce any changes to prevent it.

Dear Guest Thanks for your feedback. Disappointed to see you did not feel we were taking enough measures with the virus but I can assure you we are. Some of the things we are doing. All breakfast staff wear visors, housekeepers also wear PPE and have a enhanced cleaning list for rooms. We are currently awaiting delivery of a fogging machine to help sanitize all guest rooms between stays All guests and staff temperature checked upon arrival Automatic hand sanitizing station at reception We are always looking at improving what we do so I greatly appreciate your feedback and we will endeavor to make the precautions we are taking more visible to customers. Spent three nights in this lovely hotel. We booked directly for the English Breakfast option and were not disappointed. Had Kippers, Full English, Avocado Toasts with smoked salmon and Egg each of the different mornings. All were delicious and all served by Jo, a fantastic waiter/hospitality person who also fixed specialty coffees such as lattes and espresso. We tipped her what little English money we had, but she deserves a raise! The chef, whom we never saw, was also amazing. We wish we could have stayed longer.

The only negative was being right off the stairs. People coming in were occasionally drunk and noisy. We had asked for a "back bedroom", but they were all booked more than a month in advance.

We have stayed here many times over the last 17 years. The location is fantastic and staff are always welcoming and helpful. The standard is still high but we have over the last couple of years noticed a few things where corners seem to be being cut.
This time we noticed the room we stayed in needed some attention. The bathroom unit was peeling and needed a new tap, the shower tray was stained and needed regrouting and the mirror was peeling. The beds were soggy from use.
Breakfast was fine but not as good as it used to be. One day the bread we were served as toast was mouldy - this was replaced quickly and we received an apology but a boutique hotel serving sliced bread toast in a plastic bowl.....
As the title said it is still good and we will return but there’s a few things that would make a difference and return it to excellent

I am sorry that your room was not up to standard - we are currently in the process of refurbishing our rooms little by little, so hopefully this will have been improved when you next stay. I am so sorry to hear about your experience at breakfast. I know it was sorted out straight away, but that never should have happened. We have put measures in place to prevent that from happening again. We hope to welcome you again soon, and provide a much better experience

We loved our one night stay here. The hot tub was such a highlight of the trip, it's on a little private terrace and we enjoyed a bottle of prosecco. The bed was lovely and comfy and the room had everything you needed and the local soaps and shampoos were a lovely touch and smelled divine. I'll be recommending this hotel to everyone I know and would definitely return when next in the area. We were checked in quickly and it felt really "Covid secure". Thank you so much for a fantastic and comfortable stay.

Stayed here on the recommendation of my sister who stayed in the summer and enjoyed so much she wanted to return for her 50th birthday.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, they even put a lovely card and chocolates in my sisters room when they became aware it was her birthday.

The location is very central - yes there are several bars opposite and others in close proximity but we very much enjoyed being able to go for a meal and drinks and a spot of retail therapy within five minutes (or less) of leaving the hotel.

Loved the quirky decoration of the reception and lounge bar area, both our rooms looked lovely. Loved the fig toiletries and powerful shower and comfy bed.

Breakfast was enjoyed by all, particularly the kippers. Nice choice of fresh fruit, cereals, pastries and yoghurts in addition to cooked choices, this was included in the price of the room.

Would love to return for another relaxing visit to Bath

Prior to our visit the staff were great and provided instructions to make our arrival and parking easier. It was possible to stop outside the hotel entrance briefly on the really quiet street (double yellow lines) to drop off my wife and our cases and collect the parking permit. The open air parking is less than 5 minutes walk away with designated slots near to the entrance.
Our room was on the top floor, up 4 flights of stairs but it was not difficult to climb them.
Reception staff were cheerful and always helpful. Room was cosy and clean. Breakfast was served in a light and spotless room. Both cooked and buffet breakfasts were top quality served by the most helpful girls and there are a wide variety of options to choose from. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring Bath. It was our first visit and Bath is a small and compact City and none of the main attractions were more than 15 minutes away. The surrounding streets have some great pubs and cafes with outside seating which we took advantage of in the beautiful weather.
We booked a session in the hot tub (£20 for an hour) and then had to change the time slightly as we booked tickets for the theatre. The staff were so accommodating to our change and prepared the tub so it was at the perfect temperature. We took drinks from the adjoining bar and enjoyed an hour in the sunshine relaxing in the peaceful small patio.
Our departure was easy. I collected the car and parked right outside the hotel entrance (so few cars drive down the street so there is no problem stopping) then put the bags from reception into the car before returning the Parking permit (£14 per night and you pay when you checkout). A great stay in a lovely welcoming small hotel.

Our third visit to this beautiful city and the third time we have used Harrington’s Hotel as our base. Originally recommended to us a few years ago, I can only do likewise for anyone planning a trip to Bath. Superb location - simply drop your car off & forget it, you can walk everywhere you need to, being right in the centre for shops, the Roman Baths, the Spa, pubs & restaurants. This boutique hotel is lovely - the rooms vary in style and are all bespoke; the breakfast is a great start to the day & the hot tub a great end after all that walking. In a word - Perfect.
