Very poor quality. Got there and asked to change hotels. Which was agreed. If you want cheap and not cheerful this is the place for you. We moved to the hilton which was 100% better. And if you book in advance cheaper as well. My gf says it should be a 1 star or a hostel.

We came and stayed for the weekend as a family so stayed in the family loft room . It is in need of a complete refurbishment. The blind didn’t work, it was very noisy due to the road and the something making a noise from the roof. The hot tap didn’t always work . The main concern was a big clump of someone’s hair in the corner of the room by the double bed ( not ours) . I felt that the whole room needed a good deep clean , it also had a mattress propped up in the corner . I told Matt and he became defensive and said that the vacuum cleaner was very forceful and that could have come from under the bed and we don’t clean under the bed every clean. He said due to covid he wasn’t allowed to come into the room but I asked we would like him to remove it , which he did. The whole place I felt needed a good deep clean and new carpets. The breakfast was good and Matt was friendly but to be honest the amount we paid , it was not cheap I would definitely not recommend this and we won’t be coming back. Also there is only two parking spaces and they were already used we got the permit but we hunted for 45 minutes and couldn’t find any parking in zone 6, the other ladies staying also had the same problem. We had to pay the car park charge so that cost another £30 in Charlotte street. Overall not a good experience.

B&B was clean, b/fast good and great location. Parking spaces at premises are limited using the permits means vehicles can be some distance from property. Out twin room was tired looked more like student accommodation, at front of building which made it noisy facing onto a busy road. Proprietor debited credit card without me present & over charged me by £191 When I realised mistake was reimbursed - in future feel transactions should be done with customer present aware of Covid restrictions but my card was debited incorrectly at 4am without prior discussion this isn’t an acceptable way to bill customers. Being over charged £191 was upsetting and anxiety provoking in future I’d suggest transactions are made with customers present.

Sadly, after being really excited for the first night of our road trip, we were greeted quite abruptly and swiftly sent away due to our room not being ready (we were told we could arrive at anytime, so did so at 1 1am). We stayed in Room 1, which was small, not even enough space to open our suitcase. Tea, coffee and biscuits were provided in the room. The private bathroom was on the landing and not an en-suite as advertised. The room was very noisy being at the front of the building on a very busy main road. Perhaps the rooms at the back are quieter. We booked our breakfast slot for 8.30am, which again was confirmed to be fine. However, we got half way down the stairs and were asked to return to our room and we would be called when it’s ok for us to come down (30 minutes later). Thankfully we weren’t in a rush, although we were keen to get out and explore Bath so this wasn’t ideal! The dining area and breakfast were pleasant and the location of the Guest House is a short walk from all main attractions. 2 free car parking spaces onsite were also a bonus. If we were to return to Bath we would look for accommodation elsewhere.

Stopover on way home from St Ives. ‘Small’ double room involved a double bed pushed up against the wall and the smallest shower ever seen which had 2 uncontrollable temperatures, freezing and scalding. Instead of a mattress topper an old blanket! (I wasn’t having a microscopic sweep of the room but simply don’t like tucked in bed linen and the sheet came out when we pulled the duvet out from the mattress) It’s all a bit tired and scruffy, breakfast was ok tho. On the plus side it has 2 parking spaces at the rear (and a huge public car park close by) and is close to Royal Crescent and town centre

Great location, great breakfast. BUT the building cannot cope with the number of rooms squeezed in and therefore, at full occupancy, there is no water. The shower & taps in the top room simply ran out of water and during the Covid pandemic not being able to wash hands was a big deal! Sadly, the owner was not prepared to get the issue sorted. We love Bath and loved the location of this B&B but will certainly NOT return to stay here.

We found the Albany Guest House after our previous hotel cancelled due to shutting early for lockdown. Matt & Mary are good hosts, they do not live on site but leave clear instructions and check in was simple. We used the free parking to the rear of the house. It was warm, clean and great location for the price. Breakfast was well cooked and plenty of tea available (also in the room) . We had a twin room, does have a private bathroom but it’s not en-suite, just next door on the landing. For a budget place to stay, you won’t go wrong with the Albany Guest House.
