Grays Boutique B&B has garnered praise for its decor, with guests finding the rooms not only beautifully adorned but also offering comfort and superb views. While the majority of visitors are delighted by the cleanliness and professional service, a few note the challenge of noise disturbance and navigating stairs. Its proximity to Bath's center is a highlight, although the steep hill approach can be demanding for some. Despite occasional comments on room size and water pressure, the overall value and thoughtful amenities, including a commendable breakfast, have left a positive impression.

This is our fifth stay at this wonderful B & B and we would not hesitate to recommend to others!
The staff are welcoming and friendly, the rooms are all unique and beautifully decorated, the beds are so so comfy, and the breakfasts are all cooked to order with quality ingredients which sets up you for exploring Bath and the surrounding area. There are lots of little extras which makes you feel as if the owners have really gone the extra mile.
Bath itself is a 10 min walk away so whilst we always travel by car it would also be convenient to take the train.

We are already planning our next visit in the Spring!

We arrived to a warm welcome from the host who was very helpful. We had a comfortable room and excellent breakfast here. We spent a perfect 2 days last week in this stylish little hotel within an easy 20 minute walk to the city centre and the hotel also offers free parking - a bonus for Bath !

Very friendly welcome. A great, very clean room with a view over Bath. The B&B is tastefully decorated and is within walking distance of the city. Good restaurant tips. We were able to park easily with our SUV.
Thanks for the interesting conversation when we left! We'll be back

We stayed three nights (room 5) @ £120 per night. Best bits: nice house, stylish decor, comfortable bed, good shower, quiet location, Kit-Kats on the tea tray, and a nice clean room (refreshed daily) if a bit on the poky side for two. Bathroom gripe: the towel-rail was super-hot day & night, with no obvious way to regulate it, consequently the bedroom got very overheated at night - even in October, with the bathroom door closed and the window open. Main source of discontent: the ‘boutique’ label when really It’s a perfectly adequate but ordinary B&B, somehow omitting the small details and personal touches that would take it up a level. For some reason I can’t quite pinpoint, Grays feels more like efficient business accommodation, impersonal and lacking in warmth & atmosphere. The toiletries were bland and odourless, but most disappointing was the breakfast buffet table which felt very ‘Costco-catering-pack’ on a budget. I wonder if anyone taste-tests this stuff before serving it to guests? the “cranberry juice” tasted like over sweet gripe-water, orange juice marginally better, 4 cereals on offer: rice-crispies, cornflakes, weetabix and muesli, no bran to be seen (accounts for the grumpy review perhaps..?). I didn’t eat a cooked breakfast, but husband (who did, and always judges by the eggs) put it at 7 out of 10. (NB: if someone having no other breakfast asks for just brown toast, please bring more than one slice. ) I found the minuscule thimble-sized milk jugs and butter portions on the table (supposedly for two people?) irritating which contributed to the overriding impression of penny-pinching, bordering on the miserly. Yes, we can get up (multiple times) to replenish them ourselves or constantly request additional from staff - but why? Just Seems unnecessary. On the plus side I saw fresh fruit (melon & pineapple) and plain yoghurt available on the buffet table, but it was exactly the same every morning (a little bit boring). IMHO there is little to lift Grays above the ordinary. The staff we saw (mostly at breakfast) were obliging and efficient, and we liked the housekeeper (I assume it was) that we bumped into on our way out one morning who was funny and engaging. In summary it was good, but not as good as it should/could have been, had it lived up to the “boutique” billing. Would say 3.5 out of 5.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for staying with us. As a small family run Guest House we really do appreciate all feedback both positive and constructive. You did select for your stay Room 5 which is normally £155.00 per night so you made a great saving of over £100 and it is one of our smallest rooms but has fantastic views over Bath and if only you had told us about the bathroom radiator during your 3 days with us we would have knocked it off, but unfortunately you did not and we can do nothing after the event. Our bathroom products are from a local company and guests regularly comment how nice they are and the fact we supply large bottles of them for our guests to enjoy and use during their stay. As a small Guest House not a 5 star Hotel or restaurant we are very proud of the breakfast we serve and we very very rarely have any negative comments such as yours regarding it. We serve 4 different cereals, fresh fruit which is served on a platter that you claim is boring yet did not eat any of it, yoghurt and also dried apricots/cranberries/seeds. Also we serve two juices a cranberry juice (from a market leader and orange juice not from concentrate). All of the cooked options are made to order and with the buffet sets our guests up with appetites satisfied and ready for the day ahead. Had you mentioned that you only eat toast and Bran Flakes for breakfast one on us would have gone and got some for you but alas you did not. We do not put large amounts of butter or milk on our breakfast tables for one very good reason...waste. There is nothing more disheartening than pouring unwanted or partly used food items in the waste. So our small happy team are always on hand during breakfast to supply anything you need so you can relax and enjoy your time. Thank you once again.

Just a short drive (easily walkable) from the centre of Bath we were warmly welcomed and immediately comfortable in both the personal and physical senses. The room was very comfortable, clean, newly decorated and fully stocked with everything you would expect with the added bonus of a couple of unexpected Kit Kat bars on the coffee tray.

The bed was supremely comfortable with good quality bedding leading to a solid night's sleep with no disturbances and despite being on the top floor the shower provided a generous stream of hot water into the spacious cubicle.

Breakfast was excellent. Served in the conservatory fresh fruit and yoghurt was available as we waited briefly for a full English breakfast - comprising good quality ingredients and freshly cooked to order I would have happily waited longer for what was unarguably by far the best breakfast of the week we were away.

Was it perfect? The gateway to the drive and parking spaces is very narrow and I had trouble opening the sachet containing the soap (it tasted soapy if you were wondering ...) otherwise hard to fault.

Car parking at the hotel is quite tight. We have an estate car. Great location just a 15 minute walk into Bath.
The hotel was clean and nicely appointed. The hotel was very accommodating as we needed to checkout very early the next morning. They kindly made us a really lovely breakfast in a very pleasant dining room.
Our room (10) was small but adequate. As the ceiling was vaulted we had to be very careful that we did not bang our heads. The bed was comfy and the linen clean. The bathroom was small but the shower size was fine. Disappointingly the water ran out during my shower which was not great. My husband had showered first and the water was plentiful and hot. Overall we had a pleasant stay it was just a shame that we ran out of water for the shower.

We enjoyed our five-night stay at Grays, and would definitely stay at Grays on our next visit to Bath.

Our large first floor room at the front of the house was beautifully decorated and had a great view of the Bath area. The four-poster bed was comfortable but the bathroom sink area was a little tight. Breakfast and service were excellent. We also enjoyed sitting in the back yard enjoying a warm late afternoon. The B&B is ten minutes walking distance of the city center, although the return route is uphill. There is city bus service nearby.

Grays has on-premises parking for everyone, but it is very tight. Be forewarned if you have a big vehicle or are uncomfortable backing in to a parking space.

We enjoyed a most wonderful 3 night stay in the beautiful Gray's Boutique Guest House for Karen my wife's 60th Birthday.

The rooms are beautifully presented & decorated & room 11 had a stunning view across the city of Bath towards the Royal Cresent. We received 2 bottles of water everyday in our room along with a tray of tea & coffee making facilities.

The breakfast was absolutly delicious with several choices of freshly cooked options with hot toast, cereals, fresh fruits & yohgart.

The staff were very friendly & helpful which made for a relaxed stay.

The guest house also has free onsite parking.

It is only a 15 minute walk downhill into the city & a great regular bus service bringing you back up the hill on the no 4 & 8 bus.

We will definitely be back to stay on our next trip to Bath & highly recommend Gray's.

Located a short-ish walk from the city centre, Grays offers comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price. We especially like the super-comfy bed with crisp linens, high standard of cleanliness and the yummy breakfasts. They have proper bread for toast, fresh fruit and freshly cooked hot dishes. Staff are all professional and friendly. This was our second visit and we chose a smaller room for our very short one night stay, but there are options for larger rooms if you want one. This is a beautifully converted house on a hill (with fabulous views) and if you don't fancy walking back up from the centre it is very near to a bus stop.

Charming 2 night stay. Immaculately decorated and has a high end feel. James and the team are fantastic! Room 11 is a King room with stunning views out over Bath, window seats to enjoy the view with a cup of tea before or after breakfast. The breakfast room is bright and airy and the food is locally sourced. Plenty to choose from. Approx a 10 minute walk to the City centre with off road parking. Great stay and would definitely visit again.
