Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our first time back here for a few years but just as good as we remembered. The Royal Gala room was spacious, well furnished and spotlessly clean. Leaving dirty shoes in the hall and wearing the supplied slippers was a nice touch although you may wish to bring your own. Breakfast choice is good and whatever cooked option you go for it will be done to perfection and beautifully presented. Ling was a brilliant host as ever and Apple Tree will always be our first choice accommodation in Bath.

We enjoyed our stay at Apple Tree very much. The host was very welcoming and gave us good suggestions about things to see in Bath. The bed was comfortable and the breakfasts were excellent. Thank you, Ling!

Everything was lovely from such a warm welcome from Ling on arrival and we were able to check in early. Ling gave us clear information on Bath and our stay. The room was clean and great powerful shower and hot water. With amenities etc. breakfast there was a good choice and all cooked freshly to order and good quality of food. We will certainly come back again and stay at the Apple Tree. The mints in the hallway a nice touch as were our own slippers.

Ms Ling is a great host and makes a wonderful breakfast. She is professional and helpful. The rooms are clean and well furnished with fresh bottles of water provided daily. Ms Ling provided helpful recommendations of restaurants and ideas for great walks. My only complaint is there is no where to simply hang out at this BnB. You have your room and the dining room, no lounge area or outside space.

My wife and I stayed at Apple Tree as part of our honeymoon. We were warmly welcomed by our host, Ling, who showed us to our lovely room. The room itself was homely, comfortable, and completed by a powerful shower! I loved Lings collection of antiques and chinese vases. Breakfasts were beautifully cooked, with a good choice of meals. The French toast is fantastic, as were the Omlettes and Eggs Benedict. Breakfasts were taken in the breakfast room with other guests, and Ling was an engaging and chatty host - our breakfast discussions with other guests were great. The location is brilliant, meaning you don't need your car as you are a short walk from the river and the centre. The B&B was wonderfully quiet, and you'd never know you were a 8 minute walk into the main area of Bath. On the whole, the stay was perfect, and we'd definitely stay again if we were to revisit this beautiful city.

Like all the other reviews, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Ling. She has a charming B&B, well located with an easy 10 minute walk into town. The rooms are clean of a decent size, with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was outstanding, cooked to order. Ling is a delightful and very helpful host. We absolutely recommend this B&B and would gladly stay again.

We stayed in the Bramley room at the top of the stairs. It was a very comfortable room. We enjoyed that we could open the windows and let in fresh air. The location of the place was very nice as well. An easy, short walk to the baths and the abbey, restaurants, shopping, etc. We had a rental car and Ling was able to accommodate since she didn’t have any other guests with vehicles when we were there but we walked past one of the car park options and that wouldn’t have been a bad walk to and from if we had to park there. The breakfasts that she cooked were superb! We stayed at 11 different lodging places over the course of our trip, most of which included breakfast and hers was the best! She also had high quality continental items to select from. Highly recommend this b&b! Thank you again, Ling! Side note to Americans - all over Europe the majority of lodging options don’t provide wash / face cloths and don’t use fitted sheets. I wasn’t aware. Planning to bring my own wash cloths next trip. :)

Lovely stay at Apple Tree! Ling was an attentive host, doing her utmost to please her guests. Location is great! Within walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do! No need for the car. The property is lovingly restored and has a unique character thanks to Lings taste in furnishings. The room was clean, lovely comfortable beds, nice bed linen. Breakfast was lovely and a great choice available. I was catered for as a Coeliac which was a bonus. All in all a great stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay again if I returned to beautiful Bath.

Staying with Ling was wonderful. Apple Tree is very close to town but on a quiet street, so the location is pretty perfect. Everything was clean and comfortable and well decorated, but what really made the stay was Ling herself. She is so friendly and thoughtful and is a fantastic cook--the breakfast is wonderful! She took the time to talk to us each morning and give ideas on how to spend our day. She is so warm and welcoming and we would highly recommend staying with her. I would return to Bath just to stay with Ling (and see Cocoa the cat again!)

I can see why there are so many wonderful reviews for the Apple Tree & Ling - we have had a fantastic stay and would return in a heartbeat. Rooms are clean and have all you need. Ling is a fantastic, friendly host and the breakfast choice and quality is fab. Close to the centre of Bath and Widcombe (which has a fab pub & Indian!). Highly recommend eating at Opa and The Raven in Bath. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.
