Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a lovely long weekend here in the lodge in the hot tub, had a lovely meal at the bar, the staff were lovely and helpful, the food was lush! Look forward to staying here again, the views in the hot tub were stunning!

We stopped here for 5 nights in October half term. I would never stop there again. -The club was never open. -the grass was 2ft tall. -massive pot holes all round the site. -the pool was disgusting, I don’t think it had any chlorine in it. -the staff were very blunt and couldn’t be bothered to be there. -toilets and showers was not cleaned the entire time we was there. Overall a very dirty site, needs more staff to keep the maintenance/cleaning up to standards. It doesn’t take much for someone to cut the grass and clean the toilet/showers regularly.

Dear Maryann, Thank you for sharing your experience with us however I sincerely apologise for the inconveniences you faced during your stay. We take your feedback seriously and are committed to addressing issues raised by our guests promptly. Rest assured, we will be reviewing our maintenance and cleaning procedures to ensure a more enjoyable experience for our guests in the future. We have just this week undertaken re-tarmacing of much of the driveways around the site with more works scheduled for the new year. Also I'm pleased to say that our new groundskeepers are now settled in after joining last month, admittedly we did have a short gap after the previous groundskeepers left in September. Our new team is working hard to ensure the site is looking great for our guests, we have been unable to track down this 2ft grass you mentioned however! I also note that the bar and restaurant was open every day from 4pm during your stay as advertised, so I'm not sure what the confusion was here. We appreciate your honest feedback and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future, providing a much-improved experience. Kind regards, Sam Warrilow Head of Accommodation Wookey Hole

Worse touring park ever. Customer service very poor in fact couldn’t be bothered very unhelpful in fact rude. don’t go by pictures on website very misleading swimming poor changing area extremely poor . no separate changing areas. broken gully pipe work. had to pay 20p to use old hairdryer. gave that a miss. very dark drab again don’t go by pictures on website, bar food area very dated. noisy of a night with teenagers, only 1 washing machine and 1 dryer. have no seen one maintenance person on the site doing anything cutting grass etc see pictures ladies changing pool area and outside pool plus grass and hardstanding areas toilets showers need updating

Came here during half term halloween week!! Stayed in a deluxe caravan which had a hot tub and was lovely and clean and comfortable. My sister inlaw had a lodge whucj was stunning!!! The site is small but I thought it was perfect, you feel safe, the views picturesque and it caters to caravaners and campers as well. The staff are super lovely and as it was halloween week, the restaurant/lodge/games/pool area was done 'all out' in halloween gettup. Special props for the free halloween carving in the afternoon for the families!! I loved it here and would come again!!!

Solo camping in the wind and cold (what else do you expect for Oct!) so I went low peak - hardly saw anyone! Really pleased with some of the facilities - the heated pool was a lovely addition especially when the weathers not on your side, managed to have two mid day swims with noone else in there! Really happy to see showers that are heated but also stay on without having to press a button, that really made my day! Most camp sites I visit are push buttons for four seconds of water! Would have been nice to have had a lockable door shower in the swim lodge area rather than a shower curtain, especially for those camping, rather than trundling accross to the shower blocks in the cold, but that’s just my fussiness! Only down side for me wasn’t the camp itself but rather the pack of dogs I could hear on arrival but also from 2am to 5am continuously barking, sounded about 7-10 dogs - they weren’t on the camp site but in surrounding area where I presume they live - sadly that’s the only reason for marking down as they were quite loud when you’re camping and not in a caravan etc! But again, just to clarify, these were not on site. One other thing I was gutted by was I was “out of season” for the bar and food place being open mid week - presume it’s a monetary thing which is understandable however be advised a lot of places in the area seemed closed for food on Monday nights! A key tip - they do provide hair dryers and sockets for things like hair straightners for 20p per two minutes. If I had known that I would have taken some money with me - as I’m normally cashless! Once I found that out I went to get some money changed! Not bad price for two minutes considering! Overall it was an okay place - agree that it could do with a revamp but life’s expensive!

Great little campsite. Lovely onsite pub and food with a play area. Caravan was clean and tidy and had the added extra of a hot tub. Site had a small pool which the kids loved. Only down side was mobile signal in the whole area was almost non existent and WiFi was not a strong signal but free. Will definitely stay there again.

Great stay at bucklegrove holiday park! Nice clean caravan, quiet site and friendly staff on arrival! Highly recommended and we will be back! Just a couple of points for improvement: Somewhere to hang coats inside the caravan. Bigger towels. A potato peeler. ☺️ Otherwise just great!

6 if us stayed in platinum 2 Lodge for a week. The lodge is lovely although a bit cramped in the bedrooms for 6 adults. It is equipped with everything you need apart from cleaning equipment, no hoover or dustpan and brush, which we felt was needed especially when staying for a week, also towels provided was 1 per person and these were not very big. Some if the kitchen utensils could do with being upgraded as well. We also felt that the attention to detail had been missed on such things like dust on skirting boards, cobwebs on light fitments. The park is lovely with everyone we met being very friendly, swimming pool lovely and peaceful, can imaging in school holidays it would be very busy as it is quite small. Did not use the bar as it was only open on the weekend at this time of the year. The park is close to both chedder and Wells. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay...

Booked a short break here to try and preserve summer a little. Picked the most perfect w/end weather wise. Park further out than I thought but was a lovely little place. Had a luxury caravan with hot tub. Was right opposite all the motor homes parked up though so not very private for sitting out. Pub/restaurant very good. Hot tub we enjoyed. Very small fridge/freezer and not much in the way of equipment (saucepans etc for 6). Was woken 3 times by dogs in one of the vans on the 1st night. 2nd might woken by dogs but sounded much further away than night before. On speaking to Reception was told there’s a dog rescue right at the top of the park and you only hear it depending which way the winds blowing. Probably wouldn’t return.

Had a lovely stay on your site. Staff accommodated us as we wanted to stay another night and managed to leave us in the same spot. It might be a good idea if there was a few lights at night down to the Grove park so as you can see where you are going. A lovely spot and so central to all the popular places to visit. We are hoping to come back next year with our caravan. Thankyou for having us.
