We had a 3 night stay at Cheddar Bridge, our first time there in early July.

The hanging baskets on arrival where beautiful. The wardens onsite where very helpful and informative.

You choose your pitch on arrival so we had a drive around to find one suitable for us. There are mature trees offering some privacy between pitches.

The tent field had numerous bunnies throughout the day which was lovely to see.
By the tent field there is a ladies and gents WC and a washing up area with a microwave and fridge freezer for guests to use .

There is a red telephone box with a bus timetable and information leaflets in.

In the ladies block by the main entrance only had 2 shower cubicles, 3 toilets and 5 wash hand basins. The same in the gents plus there was a separate family/disabled facility. There is a hairdryer to use which was helpful. Not sure that is enough in normal times and everyone on site was using them. Depending on whether you were on an odd or even pitch number you were asked to use the facilities at certain times.

I enjoyed listening to the church bells and they seemed to get louder into the evening but it was still a pleasant back drop. I was surprised there was so little road noise considering who close the site is to the main road.

There are two routes into Cheddar village – the quickest route via the main road is quite scary as no footpath for a few hundred meters, so would recommend going the scenic way alongside the campsite, over the bridge and via the cycle track. You see even more bunnies that way!

We took the 126 Bus to Wells – its £7 for a day bus pass and the trip takes about half an hour. Pretty city. We found a local Italian Cafe called Cafe Nostra and had a nice lunch and home made ice cream – well worth a visit.

The bus from Cheddar takes you to Weston Super Mare in the other direction which takes about an hour. It goes past the Thatchers Cider Factory!

TV and O2 signal were fine onsite.

Its a great site and have recommended it to family to stay in a static soon.

We booked a short break through Booking.com and stayed in a beautiful static caravan, very modern and very clean and it’s situated along with a few other statics at the edge of a shallow river. Perfect spot and enjoyable short walk into cheddar village where there are a few nice places to eat. The caravan itself has two bedrooms and two toilets along with a brilliant power shower. The caravan is equipped with all the appropriate utensils if you wanted to stay in and cook - there are two good places in the village where you’ll find all the groceries you’ll require for your break (Tesco and Sainsbury’s)
The owners of the caravan site were friendly, welcoming and will point you in the right direction should you need anything. There is also other accommodation on site available to rent although did not view any others apart from our own ( Static Caravan number 1) the onsite toilets and showers for the campers were spotless with dishwashing facilities and laundry facilities.
The best recommendation is “would you return” and to answer that - “we most certainly would”
A lovely gesture for our arrival was to find Fresh Scones, Jam and Clotted Cream in the fridge which was welcomed with a nice cup of tea after unpacking our belongings.
Plenty of places to visit within 30 mins drive like Weston Super Mare, Wells, Clark’s Village in Street not forgetting the famous Cheddar Gorge right on your doorstep.

We stayed for a couple of nights in the Mendip annex apartment that we booked on booking.com the apartment was light and airy and most importantly absolutely spotless!! It had a double bedroom with en-suite shower room a lovely bright well equipped kitchen, a lounge with a 2 and 3 seater sofa plus a nice little terrace with patio doors. I think it was £120 a night which I feel was excellent value given the location and just how well presented the property was. If I’m ever in that area again I would definitely return.

Stayed there for 3 nights camping. Site was close to local village, easy access to the Gorge. Facilities for campers clean but dated, reminded me of something from the 1960s. Having spent 3 nights previously at the Wayfayers park in Cornwall where their facilities are outstanding this was a little disappointing. Shower blocks with 2 showers each and only one toilet per gender near the campsite can lead to queuing. Camping field is just pitch where you want but I recommend not pitching next to the public footpath as it can be quite noisy with passerby’s at all hours. Cheddar also appears to have a real problem with drivers using the gorge for racing. On the first night we actually thought we were at Silverstone! This noise did go on each night and till quite late. Although out with the sites control, something to be aware of if you are looking for peace and tranquillity. All in all adequate enough for the expectations of a camping trip but really let down by public footpath proximity and rally drivers.

We stayed here for 2 nights for a last minute booking. Hosts were very welcoming, pitch was a good size, toilets and showers were very clean! Tumble dryers and washing machines available. Kitchen areas are also very clean and well equipped (fridge/ freezer, kettle, microwave)

Very happy with our stay and will definitely return when we are next in the area.

we booked this site for 2 nights as a last minute reroute of a 14 day trip, boy am i glad we did, helpful staff, spotless amenities, riverside pitch, kingfisher, egret and brown trout spotted while here, and all in a peaceful environment. great for walking and cyclists, the strawberry trail is worth the effort for as far as you like..
no kids allowed, normally it wouldnt bother me, but not having the little bundles of joy running around was particularly nice right now, any other time its lovely to hear kids doing things kids do outdoors
oh, it was so good we booked a 3rd night while we were there :-)

We absolutely loved our stay here at Cheddar Bridge.

We rang up midday on a Saturday for a spontaneous night over in Cheddar after finishing our week holiday in Devon.

The owners were amazing and got us a pitch suitable for our 26ft twin axle.
As you drive in you drive over a small bridge which is plenty wide enough, when we arrived there was a beautiful little bird sat in the river (an Egret I think).

The site was so peaceful and beautiful.

The facilities are great, there is a male shower and toilet room/block ,female toilet and shower room/block as well as a wet room and toilet for disabled guest. Which is a nice touch.
They also have a laundrette on site which has everything you would need for a long stay.
The pitch we stayed on was a gravel pitch next to a little river which was lovely.
The pitch had an electric and water hook up, it didn’t have waste drainage, but they did have a waste disposal point very close to the pitches.

This site is about a 5 minute walk away from the town and shops which is nice walk.

Overall an amazing stay made easy by the welcoming owners and their customer service. Thank you for having us.

In the images attached is the womens bathroom.

A great location for a few nights away in cheddar on our way back from Cornwall. I think it was the site owner from the way he spoke was extremely helpful and informative when we saw him around a few times.
A lovely quiet site with lots of room, we had a tent and you could choose anywhere on the allocated field. You can easily walk into cheddar and up to the gorge and jacob's ladder from the campsite. A well run, clean site. The facilities were immaculate and cleaned regularly, a communal fridge for tents to use was also really helpful as there is no electricity for tents. They also charged our phones in the office one morning whilst having a shower with no issues at all.
An all round great stay in cheddar, will recommend the campsite to friends and family.

Absolutely loved our our stay at “cheddar Bridge” the park is in a lovely setting, a short walk to the village, supermarket, and a fantastic selection of restaurants, Zen Thai and La Rocca were our favourites. The owners of the park deserve the highest of praise, it seemed that they had thought of everything to make staying comfortable. The showers are spotless, a good size, with nice dry bench and hook area. There are separate, private cubicles for washing, teeth cleaning, make up etc. we stayed in a tent, in a beautiful tree lined field. We have one gripe only, we had to leave. Thank you so much for a lovely lovely stay. Ali & Steve Underwood.

Visited site with one tent and 4 adults. Arrive to find an immaculate and beautiful site (I am very fussy!). The camping area was almost too lovely to camp on, we had as much room as we wanted, the staff went the extra mile to charge items, lend us a cable etc. The price wasn’t inflated post lift of restrictions, no one is crammed in. There was a fab hut with kettle, sink, fridge freezer near field kept pristine. The toilets and showers were again spotless and their current cleaning regime is incredible. You can walk straight into Cheddar, it is so close to so many fab things to do and the staff again so keen to offer guidance if needed. I would go back without question. Having no children was a benefit and I know some reviews mention the church bell but as a light sleeper they didn’t disturb be at all. If you are looking for a well cared for, welcoming, super clean and pretty site for caravan, camper, tent then this is a great site. I met lots of campers who go back time and time again and I can see why. Book and enjoy
