Just returned from our first stay at Old Oaks . It was a very clean, quiet and modern site, with excellent facilities. We stayed in the shepherds hut with the jacuzzi. It was very clean , and had everything you need, including bin bags, washing up liquid, tea towel and even ice cubes already for use in the freezer for your first drink of the stay . The hottub was very warm and is serviced / maintained by the staff twice a day. The view of the mendips from the hut was beautiful too. The staff are very helpful and friendly . We used the food delivery service in the evenings which was also very good service. We shall definitely be returning ( probably every year now) . Amazing site and well deserved award winners for the top 100 touring sites . Well done old oaks , see you again .…
We spent the weekend at The Old Oaks campsite where we met up with some friends. The booking process was good, they called back as requested and answered a few questions. Arriving at the campsite, we stopped at the barrier and a very helpful staff member came along and welcomed us and showed us to our pitch. We had booked a hardstanding, which was spacious and in a great location. It was difficult to get some pegs into the hardstanding. The campsite itself was excellent, well laid out, very peaceful, clean and the facilities were the poshest I’ve ever seen and very clean. The even had private rooms with shower, wash basin and toilets in all one. All the staff we interacted with were very polite and friendly, very willing to help. We ordered food from the onsite sellers. Friday evening was Gourmet burger and Saturday was Hog Roast. Both very well priced and very tasty. They are very dog friendly, offering a dog shower facility and an excellent enclosed and safe dog run. From the centre of the campsite, there is a path to the Tor and options to Glastonbury town. All very hilly, so be warned. Close by is the Glastonbury Brewery, which is about 1.5 miles (30 minute walk) away. Lovely place to visit and sip a beer or two.…
Having read so many good reviews and recommendations we booked a week here, normally we only stay anywhere for 2 or 3 days in the motorhome but wanted to relax. This site is beautifully kept, very peaceful, the shop is brilliant and not expensive. We sampled all the food available each evening and were not disappointed. The staff are all lovely and extremely helpful. The dog run is a great addition but a stroll around the fishing lake and small meadow area are lovely too. There is a footpath directly from the site to the Tor and Glastonbury, we also walked to the Glastonbury brewery across some fields. It is very hilly so not for the faint hearted but the site is so lovely you don't really need to go anywhere...
Stayed for two nights in a glamping cabin. An amazing experience on a fantastic site - can't find enough superlatives to say about it. Great accommodation, beautiful site in wonderful countryside and 5 star shower and toilet facilities. Would recommend without hesitation
After we had booked the Old Oaks we saw it had been awarded no 1 top site in the country, well we would not dispute that award it is superb, the best we have ever stayed on, we have booked again for next year. Our dog loved the fantastic dog run, the site is immaculate, the staff really friendly, the pitch we had was the best and biggest we have ever stayed on.
