We were really comfortable and enjoyed the stay. We could easily walk into central Glastonbury and found this Travelodge clean and it followed good hygiene procedures. With the windows closed we found it very quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although we had access to takeaways and a Tesco right there, as it is located in a retail park we walked into central Glastonbury for meals. We could have got something for breakfast at the Tescos or Esso however preferred to walk to the local Morrisons cafe for a hot breakfast (where we didn't have to order more than we needed). We did have one breakfast at the local Brewer's Fayre (we had to book in advance) however we didn't need such large breakfasts. We had to be careful when we opened the windows to air out one of our rooms - the mornings were best, before the Kentucky Fried Chicken place started cooking. As long as we did this we didn't experience unwanted cooking smells in the room. I would have liked to stay at a Travelodge where there were trees and not in a retail park but in fact it was quiet and we spent a lot of time out walking in nature. So I was pleasantly surprised and would stay there again.
We did arrive 25 minutes before check in and weren't allowed to check in early but fair enough as they do require people to pay. I was worried there'd be a crowd at check in time so we came a bit afterwards, but there wasn't a queue at all.

Stayed here for 2 nights to visit clarks village which is just 1 mile down the road. It is a bit of a weird location to find a Travelodge but never the less it was up to the usual Travelodge standard and a lot cheaper than its competitor up the road!

We booked a double room but were allocated a family room (minus the extra beds) so the room was very large for just 2 of us which was great. The room itself could maybe do with a brighter carpet like there is in other Travelodges as the current carpet did make the room seem a little dark. Also our room backed onto KFC so from 11am you couldn't really have the window open because the room would start to smell of fried chicken. Apart from that the room was fine and quite modern.

The staff that we came into contact with were friendly and helpful.

The soap dispenser would not issue any soap so we thought it was empty. We told a member of staff who said they would resolve the problem after we left the room. Later on our return we found the dispenser was still not working and after checking it ourselves we realised it was full but faulty. In the end we just lived with the problem using soap from the shower area instead. We would have expected the staff member to check the dispenser worked after filling it. The beds were not very comfortable and the accessed areas looked neglected with litter and debris. Car park is a little small and fills up quickly with tight parking spaces especially under the overhang area (difficult to negotiate). It’s about half a mile walk into Glastonbury which has lots of eateries but Tesco and B&Q are situated just over the road and a fish and chip shop next door.

Second stay, great staff, location is perfect and beautifully clean.
It has everything you need.
The location has the added advantage of being near 3 food outlets, a garage and across from the Tesco supermarket.

£30 a night, bargain. Location is ideal, short trip in to town, no problem parking but OMG it was noisy! I knew it was on the main road and I dont mind traffic but this was something else. No aircon so windows open. Delivery drivers coming and going, smoking, chatting. 8.30pm, 9.15pm and 10.15pm the man fro the esso garage was out with a petrol leaf blower, blowing the leaves and rubbish on to the main road. 5 am the fuel delivery turned up and 7am the bin waggon reversed down the car park and emptied 6 bins. Tuesday is bin day BTW!
Room wasnt serviced, which is OK considering Covid restrictions but need to leave more than 2 coffees, never anyone on reception. Unsure if extra measures taken, only saw one housekeeping member who had no PPE on.

This will be the last time I stay at a Travelodge hotel. The paid WiFi was very slow, slower than free WiFi I've had at other hotels. I could not stream video content, only do basic browsing.

There was an excessive amount of noise outside the hotel, both from traffic and people having arguments in the early hours of the morning. Sleep was quite disturbed due to this.

The room was very basic, dated and grubby. The toilet in the bathroom leaked onto the floor, which we reported. Due to our room facing the back of the hotel, we had a waft of KFC fumes into our room, and also sometimes cigarette smoke. Closing the window wasn't an option due to the heat, and there being no aircon in the room.

The hotel staff seemed like they didn't want to work there, when one appeared at the desk. I certainly won't be returning.

We stayed in Glastonbury over the weekend as I was on a training course. The room was very comfortable, clean with excellent hot water and the staff were more than accommodating giving more milks, tea and coffee when asked. We had a small issue with the room (the first since we started to stay there and we've visited a lot) which was sorted out by Joel.

Thank you all the staff at Travelodge, we're looking forward to our next stay with you and can't recommend you enough.

Despite ongoing issues with the hot water, the staff at this hotel were amazing. They kept us fully informed, did everything they could to ensure our stay was good, and showed humour throughout. Mafalda in particular is worthy of a mention for her professionalism. We will stay here again because we found parking easy, we slept well and the hotel was well kept. In a good location for walking into town and exploring the area, this little gem is worthy of a visit.

Travelodge is exactly as you would expect. Its clean, the beds are comfortable, the bathroom is roomy with shower /bath and hot water. The room has tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel is 15 minutes walk from the centre of Glastonbury and on the doorstep is a Subway, Dominos and Fish and Chips. There is also a large Tesco. Glastonbury Tor is 20 minutes walk away

Had a warm welcome from the receptionist, Tamsin, who was excellent. She had already prepared a map to show us how to walk into town ( under 10 mins stroll). The route, restaurants and pubs were already highlighted. The room was simple, but clean and comfortable. We had a good nights sleep!

hi how far is the glastonbury festival site from this travel lodge can you walk taxi bus etc
Answer from Torsteve
Glastonbury, United Kingdom13 contributions11 helpful votes
Remember Glastonbury Festival is in Pilton not Glastonbury! The festival site gate is 7 miles from Glastonbury along main road unsafe for walking, then you'll walk another good mile into the site! Buses run from Glastonbury but absolutely need to book - see festival website when live. Taxis will be booked solid. Staying in town going back and forth really needs careful pre-organisation
