Melrose House BB is a georgian house situated at the foot of Glastonbury Tor (a hop over the fence and you are at Chalice Well Spring and Glastonbury Tor). A four star ETB rated property with all ensuite rooms, all of which have fantastic garden views. Its gardens surround the property and lend it to having a tranquil feel. Melrose House is suitable for groups visiting Glastonbury, individual bookings and we delight in welcoming back repeat guests. We are a ten minute walk from Glastonbury High Street, a five minute drive to Street and within ten minutes drive to the city of Wells. Millfield Prep School is within walking distance and Millfield Senior School is in Street (five minutes drive). We are lucky to have private parking to the sides of the main house on our driveway.

We stayed in the Burrow, it was the perfect location for both Wells, Glastonbury and the Tor which can be accessed from the garden. The accommodation was spotless, contemporary and everything you can think of has been thought of and included. We loved our stay especially sat out with a glass of wine watching the rabbits, The 2 bedrooms were ideal with a teenager. The only thing we can say about the location is we couldn't walk to a pub with food in the evening, the one very close by wasn't doing food after 6pm this was definitely not the end of the world though.

The Burrow is named on behalf of the many rabbits which inhabit the garden and foothills of Glastonbury Tor! The local pub, just a few minutes walk may well start doing food again in the evenings . It is sited in fantastic location as many tourist walk by from climbing the Tor. Thank you for taking time to submit your review.

My daughter and I decided on a last minute trip to Glastonbury and found Melrose House in the most perfect location for what we needed. Sarah, the owner was incredibly accommodating and helpful from the first email enquiry and continued to be once we were there.
We stayed in The Burrow and it was the most private, comfortable and peaceful accommodation I’ve stayed in and I’ve been a few times to Glastonbury over the years. Everything we needed for a self catered stay was provided and I particularly loved the bathroom.
The Burrow was perfectly located at the foot of the Tor and was extremely private and quiet, which was what we wanted.
I can’t say enough about how much I loved this accommodation and when we come back to Glastonbury, I won’t want to stay anywhere else.

We are very luck to have a property so close to Glastonbury Tor and indeed Chalice Well and the White Spring. Self catering facilities are very much in demand now and so The Burrow has become popular. Thank you for taking the time to write this review.

First trip away since lockdown. Stayed for 3 nights in The Burrow idyllic quiet location in the garden of the House with immediate access for walking to The Tor. We were welcomed by Sarah who checked daily whether everything was okay. The Burrow is spacious and adequately equipped with all we needed plus more. We were not expecting breakfast due to social distancing but Sarah had thoughtfully left a good selection of cereals, milk, honey, condiments and offered eggs from the free range friendly hens in the garden. I would definitely stay here again.

Just spent a night at Sarah’s lovely home whilst visiting schools with my daughter. It was dark winter, raining and cold, but the hearth at Melrose House was warm and welcoming. From the first moment Sarah showed how good she is at this job. My emailed queries were promptly and fully answered. Sarah offered to arrange taxis, gave helpful guidance about best routes and timings. On arrival and upon introduction by Sarah we felt so relaxed and at home it was easy to have dinner with another guest, and Sarah arranged both the lift to the village and the table. My early morning walk on the tor was met with further help as to best routes. That I got lost was entirely my fault but the heat of the Aga soon dried my sodden shoes and my coat. Breakfast was a treat complete with freshly baked bread. If this all seems idyllic, it was, for me and my daughter. Our trip coincided with a serious and sudden event affecting Sarah’s family. That Sarah calmly dealt with her family’s needs and made guests feel welcome added to the relaxing sense that this lovely lady could handle anything. A warm hearth indeed.

A highly delightful stay at the Burrow, situated just behind Melrose House.
It was such a pleasure to stay here and the attention to detail was unbelievable with everything you would need for your stay ready and waiting.
A luxurious building with space and comfort in every room.
Situated at the base of Glastonbury Tor itself and within easy walking distance of the town and all it has to offer.
Highly recommended in every way and surrounded by lovely gardens with its very own path leading to the Tor summit.

Great weekend stay at the Burrows, what a hidden gem!
I have been visiting Glastonbury for years and thrilled to find it. A super stylish wooden cottage with decking, top quality finish and touches, comfy beds , quality linens, free WiFi, rainfall shower and seating area and kitchenette with all mod cons. Sarah is a superhost friendly and discreet. You also have private access to the Tor through the beautiful gardens. Easy for Millfield down Butleigh Road. I had a great time meeting up with friends and family. 12 minute walk to Glastonbury High Street 5 mins to Chalice Well Gardens. Free parking too! I look forward to staying for longer next time.

My daughter and I stayed in The Burrow for the third year running, on our short break together. We both love Glastonbury and The Burrow is perfectly placed to walk up the Tor, by hopping over the garden stile. Watching the sunset from the top of the Tor is something to remember. Sarah is as always, a wonderful host, who goes out of her way to ensure you have everything you need. Having breakfast sat outside watching the squirrels and rabbits on the lawn is a perfect start to the day. Seeing a badger in the garden on this visit made it even more special. We plan to visit again next year and would not stay anywhere else in Glastonbury. Thoroughly recommended for a luxury self catered break.

Ahh, thank you so much for making this review. Yet again, the rabbits feature along with squirrels and badgers. The sunsets have been wonderful from the Tor this summer - lots of drumming going on at the top.

Great couple of days at The Burrow. Sarah was super friendly and easy going. Really well equipped, great showers and free Wi-Fi. We ate sat on the deck, with a lovely gentle breeze, listening to the birds and watching the bunnies. Fab views and garden, very private. Wonderful place, to sit out and enjoy the sunshine. Can barely hear traffic. Will book again on our next visit.
