Had a two night stay here to catch up with some old friends. The staff were very polite and very friendly. Couldn't have been more helpful. The room was absolutely spotless (herself is very attentive to that sort of thing) Breakfast was the standard Premier Inn fayre, but superbly cooked by Ray, the very cheery, friendly and helpful chef and his team. Parking is plentiful and charged a t a very reasonable rate. So all in a very pleasant couple of nights. Its about a 5-10 minute walk from the centre of town (market square) depending on which route you take and how fast you plod along.

Arrived and checked in without issue. Parking is via a phone app which took a bit of time but reasonable for £4 a day. Restaurant open for breakfast-- you have to book however closed for dinner but "limited menu" available to order and eat in room... as we stay in a lot of Premier Inn's and I'm vegetarian and can't eat spicy, sadly over the past several PI visits "at least four" I'm left with a choice of Magurita pizza or eat out which is what we did.
Rooms clean and although they say they will not service your room during your stay if you need extra coffee etc to ask at Reception, lucky we bring our own coffee as you only get an initial two sachets. Room overlooked the car park but was really quiet. Did point out that a staff key had been left in the lift which gave access to staff areas which we were told would be removed and thanked for noticing... two days later on checking out still there. Gererally a good visit, hardly saw anybody but Wells was a lovely place to visit.

Wells Premier Inn is within walking distance of the city centre with lots of parking that costs £4.
It was clean and the staff were pleasant.
Breakfast was well organised and tasty but they do need to invest in 2 toasters that work, I gave up on toast as it took so long to do.
Would definitely return.

I often choose to stay at Premier Inns to attend events around the country as they usually offer a good standard of accommodation and helpful staff.
Wells is an exception to this generalisation.
The positives are that the rooms were clean, the location is excellent as it is within walking distance of the town and central to visiting Somerset attractions.
The problem was with the staff.
Most were friendly but there was much confusion and mis-information given to visitors.
Firstly the staff stated that there had to be a car park charge because it belonged to the council. This is not true as the boards clearly stated that they belonged to Whitbread, the owners of Premier Inn.
We were told to leave used towels outside room doors if we needed replacements. After doing so in the morning, dirty towels were still outside the rooms when returning in the evening.
The meal deal arrangements were a shambles.
Reporting a toaster not working at breakfast lead to an argument with a member of staff. When trying to pay for breakfast for the next day, the same member of staff tried to charge for the breakfast already paid for on a meal deal. When returning in the evening and checking the breakfast bookings we found the details had not been properly recorded.
Our details were not recorded properly at arrival, our names not being taken and at least 3 of our party were recorded as the same person.
This is the first Premier Inn hotel stay that I have had any problems with and found the problems very disappointing.

The hotel was spotless and the Staff wore PPE in the public areas. Each table in the restaurant was screened from the next and we received excellent Table Service - nothing was too much trouble. We paid the very reasonable rate and were totally happy with our stay. Thank you to all the Staff for all your efforts to make our stay memorable.

Within easy walking distance of Wells city centre, this is a friendly and comfortable place to stay and at compettive prices with hotels in the city centre. It's also close to a Morrisons Supermarket . We didn't sample the menu on offer as we prefered to sample the many restraurants in the city centre. Local shops are good and the main attraction of the magnificent Cathedral and Bishops Palace provides much of interest..

You always know what you're getting at a Premier Inn - clean, quiet room, comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, good shower and convenient location - and Wells was no exception. Excellent value at £30 a night! Our only tiny niggle was that the room was a little chilly and it was difficult to get the air con just right.
Breakfast costs extra but it's well worth it. We were greeted by Marian who was friendly and helpful - she recommended a fantastic Greek restaurant in town (within walking distance) for an evening meal. Took a bit of finding (it's down a side street opposite the Fosso Lounge) but was so worth it.

This is a well run Premier Inn, covid security is very good. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The included wifi is very good but irritatingly you have to book back on every few minutes while the system markets an upgrade.

All the staff we spoke to were very friendly and helpful.

There is a large carpark and parking is paid for via a phone call. Something of a rip-off this time of year but understandable in the summer when Wells is rammed.

There is a Morrisons supermarket just across the road, easily accessible via a pedestrian crossing, and the city centre is another couple of minutes walk through the Morrisons carpark.

Spotlessly clean hotel, lovely comfy bed, didn't have breakfast as a little bit pricey but we did order some food in the evening which was tasty. The room was a tad warm even with the air conditioner on the coldest setting and the constant noise from it disturbed my sleep as I'm a very light sleeper. Carpark was good at £4 for 24hrs and it is easy to walk to the centre from there.

I found the information on the web site confusing and couldn't work out whether the restaurant was open or not in the evening. So I rang up in advance and was told it wasn't but they were happy to provide takeaway to eat in the room. When we arrived we decided to walk into Wells which was not far and then we checked the various restaurants. Unfortunately being a Sunday night they weren't all open and those that were basically were fully booked. So we went back to the premier Inn and asked the girl on the desk for takeaway. She looked most disconcerted and immediately said that she was on her own and wasn't planning to do food. I told her I had been assured that it would be available when I phoned and I did push it a bit as we didn't have another alternative. She was initially reluctant but then agreed and I told her I was happy to have it at her convenience. After that, she was cheerful when I went to collect it, even gave me a glass to have with my wine and the food was very good. I thought it was very poor that she was on her own. We asked for a couple of pillows which she brought to the room but not the large towels we had asked for, but by then I was feeling so sorry for her, I didn't push it. The facilities were fine as always and the breakfast arrangements were fine, although there wasn't anything like the usual choice for the continental breakfast (no pancakes) and I would have ordered the full English had I known. Paying for parking was a bit of a pain and I can't understand why you can't do it at the inn if it isn't free. I've given this place 4 stars because I didn't want to mark it as average but it was in between really.
