Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Room was very quiet and comfortable. Full English breakfast was enormous and delicious. Easy walking distance to downtown. Highly suggest the Courtyard restaurant down a little alley off Sadler street. Car left safely at site during the day. Overall a great experience.

Stayed three nights. Very comfortable accommodation and good safe parking within a short walk of the centre. Room at back so no traffic noise from main road. Very friendly landlady (Julie) and a beautiful breakfast each morning. Nice garden outlook from both dining room and bedroom..

We arrived with 'enthusiasm' for a couple of girlie nights away, and were not disappointed. Julie looked after us very well. She was warm and welcoming and her rooms were nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was all cooked fresh using top quality locally sourced ingredients along with fresh fruit each morning, it was a joy. She was very happy to give advice on places to visit in the area with her good local knowledge. The B & B was on the outskirts of Wells and a nice walk into town to the shops, restaurants and Cathedral which is is must visit. My friends and I would not hesitate to return one day and would recommend. Thank you.

We stayed for a whole week and found No.26 a very pleasant place. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfasts were huge including full English, fruit and cereals. Julie made us feel very welcome and at ease. Wells - and No.26 - makes for an ideal touring centre for discovering the delights of Somerset and surrounding counties . We would love to stay here again.

I have just finished 10 weeks working as a student nurse at the local hospital and needed somewhere to stay Monday to Fridays. No 26 turned out to be not only convenient but clean, comfortable and a warm friendly environment with fresh milk in your room and a good breakfast including a pot of fresh coffee. Very good value for money.

We were looking for somewhere to stay overnight after a get-together with friends and managed to get a room at this lovely little B&B. The room was large with plenty of cupboard space and the en-suite was a perfect size. We had a great selection of tea's & coffee's plus nibbles in the room. Breakfast was vast and well cooked and again with a decent selection on offer. I would love to stay there again.

This is the kind of Bed & Breakfast (B&B) that you always hope you'll find. It is ideally situated within walking distance of Wells Cathedral, shops, pubs (we recommend the Globe) & restaurants. No 26 is in a quiet raised crescent alongside the main road, next to the police station, and so must have the safest parking in Wells. Julie the owner is kind, helpful & knowledgeable on local matters. It is within walking distance of the Bus station. Wells has no railway station, so Bath is the nearest mainline, with a bus from there to Wells, along a very picturesque route. I have been staying in B&Bs all over England for 30 years, and this place is in my top 10. A quiet location & a comfortable bed with good linen ensures a peaceful sleep. The en-suite bedrooms are tastefully decorated, with delightful views of the Mendip Hills. Breakfast, taken whilst watching sparrows play amongst the flowers in the garden, is just great. As well as the usual fare, there is a bowl of fresh berries (raspberries, loganberries, strawberries & blackberries according to season), and some first class Italian coffee. Then there is the cooked breakfast – Wow! It has quality, taste and Julie's expert cooking could easily rival that in the Swan. There aren't many rooms here, but if you can get in, it really is worth it, and like us I'm sure that you'll return.
