We stay at The Maples every year and cannot recommend it highly enough. Nick and Jan are welcoming and kind, the rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean and the breakfasts are wonderful. You really do feel relaxed and happy here.We look forward to staying each year.

I, as well as my girlfriend and two close friends, stayed at The Maples on the weekend of August 7th - August 10th 2014 for the Bloodstock Open Air festival at nearby Catton Hall, when we got there the welcome was - as always - warm and friendly with Nick and Jan helping make us feel welcome with a hand...

We stayed at The Maples July 1-5, 2011. We had just flown from Seattle to Manchester, so we hopped on the train at the airport station, changed trains three times, and eventually got off at Lichfield City station. Because we packed light we could walk the one kilometer to the b&b. We enjoyed our room, our hosts, four fabulous breakfasts,...

A very good old friend's wedding, was in Lichfield and as we had faith in reviews on this site, we booked into The Maples for the weekend, as usual we were not let down. Nick and Jan ensured our stay was relaxed and enjoyable, and ensured that the weekend was as memorable as we could have hoped it would be!...

Didn't think I would ever find myself visiting Lichfield but went their to meet some friends who were visiting from the US and staying at this B&B, so joined them. A bit tricky to find in the middle of housing estate and no en-suite. However, apart from that the hosts (Jan and Nick) were very friendly and accommodating and provided...

Jan and Nick were superb hosts, they were extremely friendly and as a result it felt more like staying with friends and family. The food was marvellous and the accommodation was first rate. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here and intend to return ourselves.

Stayed during the 2nd weekend of August for a local music festival with my Fiancee, and 2 of our good freinds who have also stayed here previously. What can I say? Nick and Jan are as always, kind and gracious hosts, and despite the bad weather they lifted our spirits! We stayed in the twin room, which is spacious with...

Jan and Nick are fantastic hosts! The Maples is a lovely B&B with comfortable rooms and a friendly welcome. A little way out of the centre of Lichfield but they are happy to give you a lift into the centre of town and for walkers on the Heart of England Way, the path is just three minutes walk away.

“Ate at the 1709 Brasserie in town. Very relaxed and good value for money. Went to Duke of York and Horse and Jockey pubs. Both were good and lively selling a range of real ales.”
