From check in to departure we felt we were staying in a 5 star hotel instead of a Premier Inn for which we'd paid only £52 for the night. Our relations were given a bottle of wine and glasses when their room wasn't quite ready at 2.00pm. All the staff from check in to departure went above and beyond to be welcoming and helpful. Their were 9 of us including small children at breakfast, and although the restaurant was quite busy, tables were moved to accomodate us, the manager and her staff made the children feel special and the cooked food such as poached eggs, cooked specially were beautiful. The hotel is well located in the centre of lovely Lichfield and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

We have just stayed at two Premier inns, ths was the first for two nights. The staff were all so welcoming, and especially made an effort to make sure the children were happy. Rooms were clean and spacious.
The staff had also put on some halloween extras , like colouring pictures, decorations and special Halloween pancakes, which my youngest loved.
It is right in the town, near the park so a great location, and not far from Drayton manor theme park.

Parking is in a pay and display next door , easy once you know where it is ( make sure you park in the Premier inn section - as is closest to the hotel)
Would definitely recommend.

Living locally we have no need to stay at this hotel but my daughter really wanted to have a hotel breakfast to celebrate her 7th birthday. I emailed the hotel a few days before and they went above and beyond. We had a reserved table decorated with balloons and banners, a card and gift, a birthday cupcake with candle and a special rendition of 'happy birthday' sung by the staff. What a surprise! The food was freshly cooked and enjoyed by all family members. Thank you Premier Inn, Lichfield. You've made a little girl very happy 😍

Stayed for work purpose for couple of weeks already, ppl cannot remember what time I`m coming for breakfast and need to remind twice a day.
You can have breakfast in the morning and staff touching your plate and cup of tea in the morning and cutlery it`s nothing wrong with it and no any issues with COVID, BUT when u ask them for plate or fork, they cannot provide due to covid, it`s seems covid works only at evenings but then again you can order dinner into room and it won`t bee issue.
No any room service what so ever, bin need to change urself, nobody clean rooms even when i asked, apparently they forgotten but offer we other room because staff not aloud to come in for some many hours into room after i left (even I1`m out for more than 12h for work a day), which is ok, BUT then again, they swapped me a room for other one, where someone has checked out at 11am and for 14pm my room was ready to check in, how does it works not sure and nobody couldn`t explain me too, and reception were saying we are completely fully booked.
so one day you need to take all ur staff out to recheck if i want room to be cleanned and other day you can leave your staff in the toilet ;locked and staff will walk in and clean it with no problem.
how those rulls are working not sure.
I pay for breakfast which i never get one due to early start, but when i ask for breakfast box i need to pay additional 2.99 pound to get a box, it`s nonsense!!!
Found hairs on my bedding sheets and dirty towels offer me a breakfast which I already had, asked for better wifi, been told they cannot do it, payed for better wifi, and doesn`t work, reception said they cannot refund me because it`s not hotel fault!
ground floor and 1st floor always no network and very wee signal, reception saying it`s some road works, how does it affecting not sure!

Response from Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, Other at Premier Inn Lichfield City Centre Hotel
Responded 11 Nov 2020
Hello there, thanks for taking the time to share your review. Whilst we're happy to hear you stayed with us, we're sorry the restaurant wasn't available for evening meal's and the bedding, towel's and WiFi in your room weren't up to our usual standard. We can imagine this left you feeling let down and this certainly isn't how we want our guest's to feel. Just so you know, we've now shared your feedback with the hotel management team to see what improvement's can be made going forward. We wouldn't want standard's like these to continue so the WiFi will be checked and this will also be raised with the House Keeping team to ensure any necessary retraining is arranged and the best service is being provided. We hope this doesn't make you think twice about returning so please have confidence this isn't our usual standard and your comment's will be picked up. Thanks again for getting in touch and we hope to see you again soon. Ricky

We stayed on a Tuesday evening as we were due to go to Thomas Land early the following day. Arrived half an hour before check in and said we'd be back in a couple of hours after we had eaten. When we returned we were told we needed to book breakfast and there was only 7.15 or 9.30 available. It would have been nice to be told this earlier as neither were ideal.
As the hotel offers a "bar and restaurant" I decided to order a glass of wine for the room. I was told all the wines were in mini bottles or a can. They would not provide ice nor a glass as they couldn't touch them due to corona. A can of wine in a plastic glass for over £6 is a joke. I asked how pubs/bars managed as they obviously touch glasses?? What a ridiculous situation. They obviously touch plates/mugs etc at breakfast so why not in the bar. You were also prevented from walking into the bar area and sitting down or even looking at what options were available.
The room was fine, standard premier inn. Nice big bed and we all slept well.
As we were limited with choice for breakfast we chose 9.30 with the hope we'd be done by 10 so could leave. We arrived on time and were sat down. There were around 3 other tables so it was relatively quiet. We were brought a tray of mugs and a menu and advised to self serve hot drinks and toast and your order would be taken shortly. Another 3 tables arrived....all of which got served before us. It appeared that one lady was serving both the food and taking the orders whilst another cleared the tables. I eventually managed to get served as she seemed to forget us. It is ridiculous that one person is running round like a headless chicken as obviously things will be forgotten. We asked the other staff member if we could order and she shrugged and said sorry she couldn't take it. So rather than asking her colleague she just carried on talking to us. As we had a toddler he was becoming impatient so maybe a grab bag of cereal/yoghurt etc could be provided for children so they served quicker. I appreciate that things are difficult and many businesses have had to adapt but this just seems to make everything so difficult. Breakfast took an hour at least and was lovely but should not have taken so long.
Make sure pre-booked breakfast on Monday-Weds is refunded due to the Eat Out to Help Out scheme as we had to ask about 4 times for the refund as this was not automatically applied.

We picked this hotel as its easy to find and separate pay parking is just over the road, its only £1 per 24hrs. The staff were friendly, and the room a good size and had the usual comforts we now expect. They do a very good breakfast, not cheap but worth it if you can eat a lot. Quiet and the bed was comfortable.

The room we stayed in was spacious and clean. We didn’t experience any noise whether it be in the corridor or road traffic which I was pleased about as we had 2 young children. The staff were attentive and when I asked for an iron they had one put in our room immediately.

The food however was awful. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was not good! We had booked bed and breakfast however the options at breakfast were awful, when asked if we could have some items re stocked (my daughter wanted a yogurt but they had all gone from the buffet) we were told no. They would not re stock and if they were gone then tough! Disappointing when we had paid for this

We have stayed in this hotel many times and have always had excellent service this time was no exception.
The hotel is situated within a few minutes walk of the shops, cathedral and the theatre. The Friary car park is more or less next door and costs £4.30 for 24 hours.
On arrival we were greeted by April and were made to feel that as customers we were valued.
Our room was clean and well maintained, there was also a card welcoming us back and hoping we enjoy the theatre along with a bag of popcorn from the staff.
Our thanks to April, Faye,Janet,Emily a the chef Tracey all of whom were excellent. Thank you x

The double room was clean and spacious, with all the facilities that one would need. We wanted somewhere to stay that was near the Cathedral and with easy access to the city.

Staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was very adequate indeed. Items like power points were situated in ideal locations, and light switches were placed very logically within the room. In many hotels, one struggles to figure out where everything is!

The Premier Inn doesn’t offer luxury items in one’s room like a fridge, microwave, or a safe, but it has adequate storage, and the room was clean, warm and well decorated, which one does not always find at budget hotels. It also provided a hair dryer, kettle, tea/coffee-making facilities, and free wifi, which was easy to connect to.

The last time we stayed overnight in Lichfield was at the Cathedral Hotel, which was OK, but we would definitely use the Premier Inn in the future. For £52 without it was excellent value (although prices vary according to the time of year).

We will definitely return.

Sorry, I've no idea. The fact that there was no in-house free car park alienated me from this property immediately.

Local authority car park next to premier inn. You pay by machine in car park. 2 minutes walk from it to hotel. Car park very popular also close to city centre.

I called the central booking number and then asked them to put me through to the Lichfield reception, which they did. Have a good time in Lichfield. Lovely town. Mark
