Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel's Favourite
I'm not normally one to leave a review unless I find the customer service exceptional, in this case, therefore I am very impressed. From checking in with the lovely Naomi I was welcomed like a family member, nothing was a problem and was made to feel very much at home from home! Went through to the adjoining beefeater for my evening meal and all the staff were very attentive, efficient, smiley and knew their job well. Each member worked very well as a team, all sharing each others responsibilities to ensure the customers needs were met. The food was quick and cooked to a high standard. I particular loved the fact that you could see the open kitchen, which also added to the ambiance. Thanks so much to all the staff who have made my stay very enjoyable. I will definitely be booking here again. Well done to all.

Room: The isolator switch for the bathroom was switched off. We did not want to switch it on as we did not know the reason for it being off. Housekeeping should have noticed this as part of their routine that it was switched off. Check in: We were told that there was an outstanding amount of £6.00 to pay and that it needed to be paid to process our booking. At the time of booking in January 2024, the amount was paid in full. The receptionist could not explain to us why an amount of £6.00 was then outstanding at check in. Breakfast: On arrival at the restaurant for breakfast, we were asked if we had any allergies. My husband replied that he had but he knows how to deal with it. The manager insisted that we take the allergies list/sheet with us to the table as it was the law (which it isn't - it is company policy which is a significant difference) that we take the information with us (and my husband's allergy was not even listed on the sheet). The manager was extremely defensive about this and I feel that the manager did not handle this very well. We found out that we had to have the allergies list/sheet as Premier Inn/Beefeater had not included the allergy information on the menus during a recent re-print of the them. In the 3 days that we spent at Premier Inn, the Beefeater was the only restaurant that was so insistent on providing allergy information that is irrelevant to my husbnd's allergy. We ate at 5 other establishments.

We were staying over the night before an event we were going to we had 2 rooms one was better quality than the other for the same price The poorer room also had very poor water pressure to the point if you turned the shower head upside down on max pressure it just trickled out. The beds were decent but it didn't help there was a big car meet there and lots of revving engines and the smell of weed in the halls next to the rooms

We arrived on the 15th and checked in around 3 pm. We were given a room on the ground floor, the room was clean and presentable. We were in Stockton following a close family bereavement and to visit a friend for her birthday, we took the opportunity to see a show at the Globe on the Friday evening planning to stay the Saturday to see our friends and watch the 6 nations locally. We returned to the hotel after the show and went to the Beefeater next door for a nightcap. Staff there were very friendly and welcoming. Walking back to the room, we were a little disturbed to see fire extinguishers removed from their holders and placed as an obstruction to the corridor fire doors. I removed these and placed them to one side, so as not to be an obstruction in case of emergency. We retired to our room and then to bed. Just before 2 am, we were woken by raised voices and shouting from the room next door, exacerbated by the interconnecting door to ours, it calmed but started again just after 2 am. I rang reception but no-one answered, so we both had to get dressed to go to reception to report the incident, as I wasn't leaving a lady on her own in such a situation. Leaving the room, we were greeted by an overwhelming smell of "weed", again not conducive to a pleasant stay. As reception we met Youseff and reported our issues, we requested a room change, and although this was granted, we feel it was a little reluctantly done. On reporting the fire extinguisher situation, we were told, yes we are aware of it, if they were aware of it, why wasn't something actioned, as the fire extinguishers had not been removed to their correct positions by the following morning, this severely impacted on our sense of safety for the remainder of the stay. We returned to our room and were followed by Michael who was on patrol, on arriving at our room, he just put his ear to the door of the room next door and took no further action. After moving all our luggage, without assistance, we eventually got to sleep after 3am, impacting badly on our plans for the following day meaning that rather than watching the 6 nations in a sports bar we had to watch the final game in our room, itself disturbed by a child running up and down the corridor and woken by the same the next morning. Leaving the room in the morning, once again we were greeted by an overall stench of "weed". My friend suffers with ME and Fibromyalgia, with an allergy to smoke, which increases her pain levels. There would seem to be a distinct acceptance of the weed situation by the staff, and that they are not prepared to do anything about it, just as they were aware of the fire extinguishers but chose to do nothing about it Not sure if the weed issue would be classed as being reportable to the authorities, but working in Health and Safety myself, I know I'll be raising an issue with Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council regarding the fire extinguishers and public safety The hotel is now showing signs of age and is in need of improvement, access or egress is a major issue with the best description of the ground floor, being a labyrinth. Overall, what should've been a calming escape from a recent situation resulted in an utterly disappointing experience. Would have added photos, but why would I waste space on my phone? 0 Stars

We stay in this hotel a few times a year to visit family. I haven’t had a bad stay yet. Rooms are clean and comfy beds. Great for myself and two daughters in a family room. Staff are lovely and we had a lovely note left for us on arrival. Really handy having the pub next door which serves a great breakfast with kids eating free with a paying adult. Thank you will be back soon!

We always go for the family room as it is no additional cost for a great upgrade. Premier inn beds are my favourite & the range of lighting from cozy warm lamps to LED strip lights on bed & mirror were a nice addition. TV is central to the bed, good size & with wall sockets that have HDMI Slots hooking up a laptop/firestick is easy. Bathroom is lovely with a deep large enough bath to be comfy & submerged at my 5"10 height. Staff friendly & helpful, great breakfast add on
