Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Modern barn conversion set within beautiful surrounding, very quiet and . The couple running the hotel we really amazing and made our stay comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was second to none and rooms were clean and very homely. Overall, an excellent nights sleep and would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone looking for a short getaway to unwind.

This is such a lovely place, I just wish I could have stayed longer and explored the local area more. The owners don’t live on site but met me there to acquaint me with things, and were very welcoming. I had a clean and well appointed double room on the ground floor. All the usual touches you expect of a B&B were there. I thought they were particularly good at providing lots of useful information about the local area, from potential walks, local pubs and other attractions. It was nice to have a lounge upstairs and delightful patio at guests disposal. The breakfast was excellent. Varied options and great local produce. I would happily stay here again.

It was the beams that clinched it for me. Oak Farm Barn had everything going for it already: it's situated deep in the peace of the countryside, well placed to reach the main attractions of West Suffolk and is obviously fastidiously well run. The bedrooms - and at the moment there are only three - are thoughtfully equipped with things like corkscrews, dvd players and bedside torches, and while I am not a fan of electric showers, I could always have had a bath. But besides all that there are the oak beams. The late 19th century timber-framed barn has been masterfully restored in a way that actually enhances all its old character. The place was built like a man o' war and not only have the gnarled timbers been exposed, with many of their original dowels, but the new bedroom doors are oak too, some with iron cottage-style latches. OK, in the upstairs room, you need to duck to avoid the pitch of the roof, but for all that, it's one of those buildings that are a joy to occupy, a genuine bit of old England as welcoming as the hosts, Tracy and Jack. Oh, and the breakfasts are good as well.

We stayed two nights in this old barn whiich has been converted to a high standard. We had a large comfortable twin bedded room. Our hosts were very welcoming with tea and scones on arrival. We had excellent breakfasts in a large upper story room. Useful information provided on local places to eat and on walks. Probably the best Guest house we have stayed in in the UK

Only 3 rooms to be had here, but with a family that can make the whole place yours. Loverly atmosphere and the barn had been made really comfortable. The upstairs communal area was large, comfortable and spacious. This doubles as the breakfast room for the morning. Service was excellent and the breakfasts cooked especially for you. Great variety considering this was a couple running the whole place.

My mum and I were looking for somewhere to stay near Bury St Edmunds that wasn't your typical chain hotel. After some research, we came across this absolute gem of a find! We received the warmest welcome at the beautiful barn, complete with a view of a field of sheep and chickens in the garden. The place was immaculate with the comfiest bed and felt like home away from home! Tracy was the most wonderful host and breakfast was absolutely delicious! Could not fault this place. If you're looking for a quiet getaway with all your home comforts, this is the place to go!

We have stopped here on 2 separate occasions and would definitely recommend as its location offers both good access to the A14 and a really peaceful place to stop as it is set just in the outskirts of the village of Rougham. The rooms are to an excellent standard and the English cooked breakfast is really more'ish. There are lots of other excellent alternatives and my wife loves the Eggs Benedict.
