It was a mid week business trip and I wanted to be close to the town centre and close to the main roads, and not a big hotel chain. The Old Cannon offers all this and more. The rooms were adjacent to the pub, I could park outside (just) and the rooms were well appointed and clean. Full Sky TV... More

Went here for meal with friends, I say confused as not sure if this is trying to be a pub, upmarket bar, restaurant or inn. I don't think it matters though, drinks were good, food was great (limited menu), only suggestions would be that waiting staff have a good knowledge of specials available as three different staff gave three different... We stayed here for a Saturday night. The room described as a 'small double' was minute, with tired decor; the small table with tea stuff on was sticky; the internet at best intermittent; and the offered complimentary beer not there. We asked when we arrived early afternoon, for breakfast at 8 am, on the Sunday morning, since we had an... More

Having called in on a previous visit to Bury and met the delicious gunners daughter (One of their great beers) we decided on our next visit to stay here. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our room which was not over spacious but very comfortable and a nice welcoming touch was the bottle of beer and snack. Nothing was... More

It really is a brewery. Stayed for 2 nights in a double room with my husband. We ate in the Pub restaurant both nights. Good food but the curry was a little bland and the eggs benedict was a tad over cooked. Rest of our meals were good. Good location. Lovely pub and great staff. The only gripe was poor... More

I have been in every now and then and always enjoyed the experience. The staff are friendly and the choice of home brewed beers is perfect. Plus in winter they roll out the mulled wine :) The food is worth a try but be careful because the kitchen closes at 9pm so its best to order before 8.30pm
