I wanted to review this hotel for its excellent service and understanding. We were due to spend a night B&B on 25th March but my elderly Labrador dog has been unwell the week before and had to spend a night in the vets with severe gastrointestinal problems. I rang the reception

Enjoyed a stay over and found the lodge a short walk from the station, just on the edge of town yet the town centre is walkable in 15-20 minutes for most. I expected something a bit more characterless as a franchise but it is an old building with modernised interior and also

Dear Rhandolph, Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review following your stay with us at the Priory Hotel. I am very pleased to hear that your time with us was enjoyable; your kind comments will be shared with the teams. The Priory is indeed a listed building and we are looking forward to the star of our 2nd phase of renovations which includes the refurbishment of our existing guest rooms. This will bring them in line with our newly built Garden Room and Terrace Bar. We do look forward to welcoming you back to the Priory Hotel in the future, and if we can be of any assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us directly. Kindest regards, Giuseppe Carata General Manager

Good location and nice hotel. Food was excellent and the staff were very polite, friendly and approachable. The showers here seem to lack pressure but didn't ruin the overall experience. Was maybe a little too warm, the heat hits you as you enter the building.

Hi I stayed with a group of 25 so we had rooms all around the hotel. My room in main building was room 3, a very large comfortable room with a large bathroom. It was fine for me but the rear window overlooked the conservatory dining room so at Christmas could be noisy. It do I'd not bother me though. All garden rooms are about 30-40 metres from main building, are reasonably sized and again quite comfortable so you'd have a good choice. They numbered from about rooms No.20, I think. If I recall there were also a further 6 or so rooms (numbered around 32- 38 I think, that were in a small courtyard so you might prefer one of these if you don't mind being away from main building in winter. Certainly avoid room 1 if you are light sleepers as it overlooks the main road, although again a comfortable room. I hope this helps.
