You will be well satisfied unless something goes wrong: on new year's eve my handbag was stolen by someone who walked in from the street while were on the dance floor. Initially the hotel were very helpful, and I was told to write a full report to be submitted to head office, which I did on 5th January. Not having...

We have stayed here a few times when visiting relatives. Its an old fashioned hotel, with creaking wonky floorboards and full of charm. It's very old and comes with quite a history which is in each of the rooms. The staff are very welcoming and although there is no lift, if you needed your cases carrying up to the room...

On our arrival we were a little wary having read some of the negative tripadvisor reports. Our check in was one of the best I have experienced worldwide. Tracy the front desk clerk was very welcoming and genuinely friendly, happy and very helpful. As were most of the other front desk team, especially Amy. Mark, the new manager was on...

Quite good value for money. Good location only 30 minute drive from Stansted Airport and only some 15 miles away from city of Cambridge. Local area quite vibrant for a small town with bags of character very interesting and historically important places around including the Rutland itself. The property in rather quaint with a distinctively quirky character. Encountered one or...

Great place to stay in Newmarket. Old building but has quirky corridors and old beams. Rooms were lovely and warm. Breakfast was very good. Only faults I found were stair carpet needs replacing, bath was on the small side and carpal bit of a squeeze in and out but other than that it's a great place to stay and good...

My partner and I visited this hotel and stayed for 2 nights over the new year weekend. On arrival we were allocated our room which was at the top of the hotel so there were quite a few stairs and twists and turns before we got there due to the fact that this is an old building but very charming....

I spent one night at the Rutland Arms in November 2016 and was not impressed. My room was cold and with the small radiator already turned up to maximum, could do nothing to change this. The TV was tiny and you had to sit no more than a couple of feet a way in order to see anything. The shower...

Arrived at hotel, made very welcome by the receptionist, my room which overlooked the Old Courtyard was spacious and very clean, although the bathroom could do with updating, staff very helpful. The breakfast was very good, plenty to choose from,

Stayed Friday & Saturday night in room 354. Lovely quiet room BUT Wooden bed base nearest the wall has had it, it creaked all night long. Both mattresses are way past there sell by date, i.e. springs sticking out. Washer in shower needs replacing as it dripped all night long, worse than being in a torture chamber & to top...
