Beautiful four-star luxury hotel and spa offering an ideal base to explore the county of Suffolk - from the local Suffolk coast featuring popular destinations such as Southwold and Aldeburgh to Constable country visiting villages such as Flatford and Dedham. Steeped in history, the magnificent red brick Tudor building is over 500 years old and is complemented by the modern facilities of the newly refurbished Seckford Spa, adjacent to the main hotel building. Perfect for business or pleasure, the hotel is also a wonderful Suffolk wedding venue with acres of beautiful grounds and a lake.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Travelled with a group of friends for a two night stay. This is one of the best short stay breaks we have all had. All staff including reception, bar, dining and housekeeping were excellent. Very attentive meeting everyone’s needs and requests. The food was exceptional. With private dining for a large group all meals were served efficiently. The hotel and grounds are beautiful which is complemented further with excellent pool and spa facilities. All staff went above and beyond everyone’s expectations. Loved it, the proprietors should be proud, thank you all.

Absolutely fantastic. Everything about the place was wonderful. From the cosy lounge / sitting room with it's even cosier wood burning stove, to the restaurant where all the dishes from breakfast to dinner were excellent. The desserts are worth a specific mention - spectacular.... Will be coming again soon. Steve & Catherine

Imagine National Trust Tudor splendour, meets 5 star luxury hotel, meets pampering health spa and I have just described Seckford Hall Hotel. The facilities are lovely, everything looks great, the food in the restaurant is fresh, beautifully prepared and very tasty, the atmosphere as you sit in the Tudor lounge by a roaring log burning fire is extremely memorable and a stroll around the grounds takes you back to the heyday of beautiful private country houses. The staff are attentive to all guests and I couldn't fault the Spa facilities. I enjoyed some great pampering experiences and was very glad I booked in advance as the spaces get filled quickly, again a testament to how popular the Spa facilities are. I was looking for some time to recharge my batteries and I wasn't disappointed. I look forward to my next visit as this has got to be one of my regular go-to destinations for a much needed self-indulgent break.

Turning into the drive, this hotel certainly has the 'wow' factor. The building is simply stunning, set in attractive grounds. Our room was a little cottage -style building near the spa. It was spacious and quiet in the room. Breakfast and dinner were both perfect. The spa was clean and well maintained. There was a small outdoor area at the spa but the weather was awful so we didn't use it.

Loved being at Seckford Hall...my husband and I came on a very good deal and will hopefully stay again...our room was not in the hotel but across near The Spa..breakfast was hot and plentiful all the usual things you would find ...dinner was a different matter...my husband struggled with the menu and I found it a bit pretentious...we stayed for 3 nights ..menu didnt change...would have been good to have some ' specials ' on ... Bed was comfortable and bathroom enormous...all very clean ...staff very polite and helpful....

From the first glimpse of the ancient, ivy clad walls to the warm & welcoming reception it rapidly becomes clear that this is going to be a good stay. The decor, all lush jewel coloured velvets which sit well against the original old oak carved arches, is a perfect mix of ancient & modern. The log fire was very welcome on chilly March nights but also the extensive outdoor seating areas & gardens could be enjoyed on warmer days. The bedrooms are well furnished & comfortable with striking decor & the bathrooms modern & efficient with a good range of toiletries, bath robes, slippers etc. In the dining room the menu offers an excellent range of dishes (so hard to choose) all beautifully cooked to order & delicious. The lemon soufflé is to die for. The staff are, without exception, friendly, helpful & efficient. Throughout the Easter holiday weekend they seemed to be on duty 24 hours a day, always on hand, always happy to chat & always done with warmth & humour. It really felt like visiting lovely old friends. On arrival there was a large Easter Egg waiting for us in our room then complimentary champagne before lunch and Buck’s Fizz at breakfast, plus a visit from the Easter Bunny distributing mini eggs. Fabulous. All in all a memorable visit, one to be repeated.

We love this hotel & spa. So much history and character. The staff are all lovely and extremely helpful. After staying on 2 previous occasions we decided to get married here. OMG the day was amazing. Absolutely everything was perfect. We would not change a thing. All of our guests had an amazing time and some plan to come back and re-visit. We will certainly stay here again.

We usually go as a couple but this time we took the children for a half term treat. On arrival we met Peter lovely man and well run hotel. Staff attentive and Matt the barman is fabulous! We didn’t use the spa as children have times they can swim so we stuck to those. I’ve had previous treatments and they are really good. Evening meal was fabulous and they really looked after the children. Room was clean and tidy and nothing was too much trouble. Lots to see in the area esp with children. We will see you again soon. Thanks

We had a fantastic two-night stay at Seckford Hall Hotel - we were in a Junior Suite in the courtyard next to the main building, which was beautifully decorated and furnished, set across two floors with a huge comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and lounge area. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant during our stay, and the food was always delicious and of top quality - and the staff, as they were all across all areas of the hotel and spa, were so friendly, helpful and attentive. We also used the spa - which is set in beautiful building with exposed brickwork and old wooden rafters. There is a really warm pool, sauna, steam room, a quiet relaxation snug and treatment rooms (my wife really enjoyed her spa treatments). There is also an outdoor spa, with a hot tub, ice bath and sauna, which was really nice. We met the owner, Peter, and he told us that they had recently invested heavily into the hotel and spa and I would say that they have had a stunning result. I would recommend Seckford Hall Hotel & Spa to anyone who is looking for a relaxing stay, in beautiful surroundings and in a great location to explore Ipswich or the Suffolk coast. I can’t wait to visit again the future. Cannot remember if I’ve ever stayed in such a beautiful hotel in the UK.
