As a guest at the wedding this evening the chef could be heard shouting at a young waitress who emerged from the kitchen visibly shaken by the experience. This is not acceptable at such a supposedly distinguished venue, and ruined the rest of mine and my fellows evening!

This is a very very overdue review as we got married at Woodhall Manor in October 2022, but we had the best day. The process leading up to the wedding was fabulous and we were given the best WEM we could have hoped for, Jacqueline. She made the build up to the day stress free and was on hand with any queries we had and she was just as brilliant on the day. It all ran smoothly and we honestly had the best day ever in an incredible venue. We still get compliments on the day and the food from our guests even now and it really was made to be a day to remember. We’d like to say thank you to Woodhall and the rest of the team we had with us on the day who were all excellent, but an extra special thank you to Jaqueline as she really did go the extra mile :)

The venue is beautiful and we had really high hopes for our wedding. However, having booked the venue as dry hire, in order to be able to have our own catering, we unfortunately encountered many issues which was such a shame as we had read so many positive reviews. The wedding planners who we were communicating with were inconsistent and we were getting different responses from different people about things that did and did not come under the price we had paid. It led to a lot of confusion, false promises and disappointment when it came to finalising our plans. The venue were very insistent on honouring the dry hire and as a result, we’re not forthcoming in supporting us on the day as much as we would’ve hoped, and on top of this we were informed on the day that we had to clear the bridal suite by a certain time during the wedding dinner, which we had not planned for considering it was an Asian wedding with a changeover and heavy outfits/jewellery etc. This subsequently led a vital suitcase being misplaced due the rush of packing up everything from the suite. It did not allow me to change my outfit as I had hoped and instead led me on an hour hunt for a suitcase locked up in the bridal suite, which I had hoped would’ve been, as promised, reserved for our use. I was in distress towards the end of my night as a result of this and looking back, it was a such a waste and time I just cannot get back again. We have not received any compensation for the above failings despite being clear with the venue about our concerns and for this reason, I do not recommend the venue for booking especially for dry hire use. It is apparent that the venue would struggle to cope with anything other than what they have planned and executed themselves within their own packages and with their own suppliers.

Held our wedding here. A ‘mature couple’ so have experienced many weddings in all types of venue. Initial visit was to an open day when we not only fell in love with the look of the venue, but was impressed by the can do attitude of everyone we spoke with. At every stage the planning was stress free. The day ran seamlessly thanks to Beth our wedding manager and the rest of the team. There is a lovely well appointed room for the bridal party to get ready in. We were well looked after during the morning. Bacon rolls and Prosecco plus endless pots of tea and coffee. All our guests commented on the friendly and professional service. Canapé on the terrace we’re delicious. Dinner was beautifully presented and tasted fabulous. “ The best wedding food we’ve ever had” was voiced by many of the guests. The ‘street food’ evening menu was equally well received. The room for evening disco has a real nightclub feel. We supplemented this with a casino (supplied by Red & Black- brilliant). Lovely overnight accommodation followed by a hearty high quality breakfast was the perfect finale. With regards to the previous reviewers comments on the venue not taking cash. Don’t blame the venue blame your host. I ensured all our guests were aware it was a cashless venue, so it was not a problem. Woodhall gave us the perfect day. I have no hesitation in recommending this venue. Big thank you to each and every member of the staff.

Had a family wedding at this venue only this week. Lovely old house with nice grounds. Nice ceremony followed but tasty canopies and fizz, then sat down for our main meals etc. BUT …….once again we have a venue who refused to take actual money at the bar area , we arrived and went to the bar where four people were waiting to be served ( very slow) a lady then informed us in front of us there not taking cash , only card. Every body was holding actual money , one lady explained she only had cash and no cards so had to ask around if some one would oblige and use there cards in exchange for money ( in her words ….EMBARRASSING ). I also had to ask a family member for help with payment with there card. When we did get served we ordered one large glass of white wine and one small white wine with a small bottle of peroni …. No mention of price just asked to put our card details in , I asked for a receipt and was told they couldn’t give me one so we had to go on family members on line bank to find out the cost ……… £25.50 ! Don’t you just love getting ripped off. A lot of people were moaning about not taking cash and the disgusting prices of drinks. Later that evening I bumped into a lady that I see earlier in the day and asked why she was without a drink and she explained she was embarrassed to keep asking people to use there CC for payment and was only drinking complementary fizz and wine which we had for dinner. She also said she had came with lots of cash to spend and enjoy her day but will be taking all her cash home. A lot of people I spoke to were in the same mind of thought …… what with not excepting cash and the high prices. If I had been in a restaurant or bar or any other establishment I would have walked out for not taking cash but you are a trapped audience here. When will venues like this and other bars , restaurant etc learn that us the paying public want the choice of payment. This venue lost a lot of money in bar sales I should imagine because of being cashless ……. I myself stopped asking people for help with payment and also decided to just drink complimentary wine. Other than this annoyance I had a lovely day with my nephew and his new wife and my family but won’t be going back to this venue.

The most amazing wedding venue!!!! Charlotte is the most fantastic wedding planner. She worked tirelessly to create a perfect day. Not just on the day but from the minute the venue was booked Nothing was too much trouble. An absolute star. The food is incredible. From breakfast to dinner to the ‘Mac n cheese’ evening food, everything beautifully presented and more importantly tasted wonderful. Where to start with the venue. Just arriving the house is stunning and in the evening the house is lit with pretty lights., beautiful. From the ceremony room to the Rock bar, complete with a juke box, amazing. But what sets this venue apart from other venues is the fantastic room for the evening. It has a nightclub vibe, which is a wonderful backdrop to the party! The accommodation blew us away. Such spacious rooms all beautifully and tastefully decorated. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this as a venue for a wedding. I honestly couldn’t fault it

Venue. Lovely to look at from the outside. Inside venue, common rooms ok. Wedding ceremony perfect. Now for the bad bits, how long you got.. Bedrooms, Nowhere near up to scratch. Speaking to the guests that stayed over, everyone had issues. The plumbing is diabolical.. Its so noisy. The tap temp is hot cold or no water.. One bathroom was totally flooded and only had cold water. Fixtures and fittings are broken. Quite a few of us couldn't even lock our bedroom doors. If you touched the handles, they felt like they were going to fall off or break as they had so much movement in them. Personally I found a lack of staff to get assistance during the day.. The only person I saw mainly was the wedding planner, who was helpful. The food was good.. The bar was extremely slow.. Everything was done by card and a tablet. What a nightmare. From 20 mins waiting for a glass of water to 45mins for a round of 6 drinks.. Wifi/reception was useless and you can only pay by card. If you want Whisky (a very common drink} don't expect choices.. Outside lighting is poor in the evening. I could go on and on.. So overall. The price of a wedding here is outrageous for the amount of faults and cleanliness issues. Mustn't forget the leaking ceiling pouring water down into the venue corridor, had to watch you didn't trip over the bucket as that was access to the toilets.. As I said at the beginning, Beautiful setting, wedding perfect. So many faults, let's the whole place down.

I attended for an overnight stay for a wedding. The wedding itself was beautiful and seamlessly coordinated. The food was fabulous and staff helpful and attentive. Breakfast was also good and again attentive staff. Unfortunately you’re told to be up and out at 9am for breakfast at 9.30, leave the venue by 10.30am. Not great after a very late night. Now for the downside….. Walking upstairs to my room I noticed the accumulation of dirt and hairs on the stairway, Once in my room I found two dead spiders on the floor ,the shower tray hadn’t been cleaned and still had dirt and hair in it, a couple of light bulbs were missing and some handles on the furniture were missing too. I would say Premier Inns have a higher standard of cleanliness! Perhaps leaving more time between guests leaving and arriving would allow for a better cleaning service. Also management should check the smaller but finer details that would make a stay more pleasant and warrant the prices charged.

Attended my sons wedding here 10-12 August 2021 . Our wedding planner was truly amazing , always on hand, listening , acting on requests and totally in control all the time. However , the building itself had other ideas. From VERY noisy plumbing to an annoying lack of hooks in our bathroom for the towels and lamps lacking bulbs and bedrooms lacking lamps . We also had to request soaps and shampoos for the bathroom. Such a pity as , the location was fantastic and the wedding went like clockwork.

My wife and I had the pleasure of getting married at Woodhall Manor on the 22nd July 2021 and we can both say that the whole wedding was perfect in every way. Laura’s planning was faultless and it made our day special in every way. The manor is a beautiful venue as are the rooms that can be stayed in for the evening. I am not sure on the number of rooms but we had a total of 25 guests stay on the night of the wedding; the rooms are truly wonderful and every guest commented on how nice they were. All food served throughout the day (and there was much of that) was excellent. Not only was it wonderfully presented, but it tasted great and everyone mentioned how full they were! The evening bar staff were so helpful both during the evening and again in the morning serving a continental and cooked buffet breakfast for all guests. All in all I would not hesitate to recommend the venue for a wedding. We are both so happy with our special day and much of this is down to Laura and her team for making it happen the way it did. No request was too much and nothing was a problem for her; it could not have been more perfect. 10/10.
