Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great stay at Asperion! The hotel was extremely easy to find and very close to the train station so an easy 10 min walk. Check in was easy and reception was very friendly and helpful. We were shown directly to our room which was very spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable and we had a great sleep. Breakfast in the morning is worth the money and again the service was very friendly! Various items to choose from and plenty additional bit available buffet style. All together a fantastic stay and I would definite stay again and recommend to friends. 😊👍

I always enjoy our stay here. The staff are always welcoming and accommodating. The rooms, though some are small, are clean and well lit. The breakfast is fine - though sadly the amount of fresh fruit has diminished a little over the years that I've been visiting and the bread is a little run of the mill. But the chefs do cook everything from fresh. I would recommend it. Plus there are no dogs or children. A quiet joy.

The Asperion Hotel in Farnham Road has genuinely become my temporary home, that felt just like it once I entered the Guildhall room on the ground floor on February 18th 2024, and continues to be my home until I hopefully soon succeed in finding a more permanent address to settle during my job assignment in the UK. The reception team, Daniel, the owner, the property itself with a private parking and not to forget their savory breakfasts - praise the porridge! - are nothing close to fantastic. Mattresses are quite comfortable, and albeit pillows are somewhat flattish they come in pairs :) Rooms are equipped decent-size tables for those who need to work from the hotel. Everything is very clean and tidy. It has a small but well-presented "honesty bar" by the entrance next to the breakfast area. The location within less than a 10-minute walk - I make it in 5 - from the Guildford railways station cannot be beaten, and the walk itself provides a decent sport exercise when one goes uphill from the station. A free-of-charge tip from a 'stayer' - there's a nicely maintained little launderette just down the Agraria road.

The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. Out-of-hours check-in for our late arrival was easily and quickly arranged via email. My room (number six) was a little tired (especially the en-suite) but otherwise the hotel is lovely, good value and convenient for Guildford centre.

Due to late arrival, hotel prepares a guidance on how to get a key. After walk in, the interior design looks gorgeous and stylish. Feel comfortable on the environment like bedroom and shower room. Before check out, staff morning welcome is also friendly. Every minute here is impressive to me. Thank you.

A lovely little hotel. Very welcoming, very clean rooms which even had a small bar with Tea/coffee and snacks. Lovely English breakfast and buffet which included fruit, cereals, jams, juices. All this within walking distance to train station, town centre and Surrey University. Will definitely be staying again if in the area.

Response from Caroline Asperion Hotels, General Manager at Asperion
Responded 2 Mar 2024
Dear Grant, I am sorry you felt that your two night stay wasn't up to expectations and you found The Asperion, Farnham road not as wonderful as we aim to be for our valued guests. We agree that our sister hotel is a gem located 10 minutes car ride from the main town centre however, our regular guests find the executive suites such as the one you stayed in to be perfect for a short stay and are quieter than being in the main house away from the busy road outside. Hopefully next time you visit Guildford you will give our hotel another try and although you missed out on breakfast both mornings this time we can dazzle you with our locally sourced freshly cooked offerings and our fully stocked "Honesty Bar" with a wide range of wines, spirits and beers. Best wishes, Caroline.

Asperion Hotel offers an excellent service and I'm thoroughly satisfied with my stay. Rooms are tiny but comfortable and well supplied. Breakfast is tasty, made to order with a side buffet. The staff is delightful and has been very helpful throughout my short stay. As a side note, know the hotel is well situated near the station and easily accessible by foot, albeit up a moderately steep slope. Also, it borders a main road and, if you're not used to it, you may be bothered by light night traffic. I had an excellent stay overall and may book this hotel if I'm to come back to Guildford on business occasion.

We were looking for two nights stay in Guildford and found Asperion as a reasonably priced option. What a find! Recently refurbished, everything looks extremely neat, tidy and clean, staff is very friendly and you can park your car right outside. An extremely nice cooked breakfast was included in addition to a buffet continental option. Note, there is also an Asperion Hillside. We had booked into the wrong hotel, but were rebooked very efficiently.

Staff were super helpful and friendly. We arrived later than planned (due to a train delay) and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was freshly made and absolutely delicious. A lovely place to stay.
