Out of the action and a taxi ride from the centre but not a problem. Nice, tastefully designed and quiet, a good place for a short stay. We had one night there for a gig and had a nice breakfast included. Rooms vary a great deal (stayed here a few times) and ours this time was compact but not small.... More

We had an excellent Meal in the private dining room with Bucks Fizz on arrival and a 4 course Sunday lunch. Staff were excellent and the surroundings are very tasteful. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice family afternoon out.

Lovely hotel in an non city centre location. Taxi ride to anywhere really. Renovation has been sympathetically carried out and the staff are a delight. Unfortunately it feels a little under-staffed and things are falling down the cracks as a result. A couple of basic items on menu were unavailable; repeated requests to sort the heated towel rail out were... More

Booked for an early Christmas get together for a party of 12. Warm friendly service. Plenty of space to gather in arrival. Variety of dishes available for adults and children. Timely attention and all the family catered for. Excellent wine selecting help. Will definitely be visiting again x

We had a pre Christmas family gathering here on Sunday 6 November 2016. Caught up with family from Newcastle, Dunfermline, Aberdeen and Dundee. Couldn't have asked for better. Lovely Buck's Fizz in the cosy bar before being shown to a lovely private room to seat 12 of us . Service was first class and food excellent. The Market Table is... More

Just a lovely afternoon relaxing with delicious food and family. The Market Table is splendid- try rillette (ask which type) , hot smoked salmon, dressed crab, Serrano ham and lots more. Then, your main course Yorkshire Puds to be amazed at. Puddings are equally wonderful. What a great place. Give it a try - you will like it.

We stayed here back in Sept 2015 for the first night of our honeymoon and loved it. Location was perfect for our needs. We were going to a concert at the Sage in Gateshead on one of evenings we were staying, so we had a nice stroll to the Quayside and over the Millennium Bridge. It was a little out of the way for the city centre, but taxis are in abundance and cost around £5. We... More

We stayed here over a weekend in October. What a beautiful place. The location is fantastic, just a short stroll to the quayside. The room was fabulous, it's hard to pull yourself out of the beautiful roll top bath to actually explore the city. We had a room across the courtyard and my only negative is that we kept getting...
