Enjoyed a Sunday night break with meal in the Brasserie - gorgeous meal and great service. Room fabulous as before and had a lovely corner room overlooking the Millennium Bridge. Could do with better lighting in the bedroom especially beside the mirrors and next to the wardrobe but no issues that would spoil stay.

This was our third visit to this hotel, so you can tell we like it very much, not least for its dramatic setting on Newcastle's Quayside. The rooms are well designed with lots of storage space, the free wifi was pretty good, and we like the staff too. They are friendly, helpful and efficient. And breakfast is available until 1100...

Every member of staff we encountered was friendly and helpful without exception. Our room was large and modern with a wonderfully comfortable bed. Only grumble is that the lighting in the bathroom is no good for doing your makeup. Breakfast was delicious and we found service in the restaurant and bar to be prompt. An enjoyable stay for a family...

Just not worth the money they charge. At over £200 a night for a suite you expect some basics like a clean room. After the first night they seem to forget to give us clean glasses for water. Double glazing that is way past it's best and full of internal condensation. Breakfast service equally as bad - it's not that...

Meal in restaurant very poor. Meal cold. Staff not interested. Room had very inadequate facilities. Stopped in Malmaison in Liverpool and similar to this and once again staff not interested. Made booking for 6 business colleagues. Will not be booking again

We've just had a wonderful stay (end November 2016) at Malmaison Newcastle. We had a great view of the Millemium Bridge from the 6th floor and at night the lights along the River Tyne were great. We can recommend the food in the brasserie which was lovely and hot, desert fab too. All topped off with a romantic walk along...

This is a great hotel in a great position. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Only comment would be the rooms are just too dark even with all the lights on. in addition the safe was positioned on the floor of the wardrobe and to get into it you had to lie on the floor and to read the instructions was...

I have just spent the night in Malmaison Newcastle. I have stayed there on previous occasions in a standard room which are great. However, this time we stayed in a junior suite, The Vistafjord. It's very roomy with a separate lounge area, dressing robes and slippers, complimentary water and chocolates. Nice view of the River Tyne. Huge comfy bed.Check-in was...

Stayed here again for our 10th Anniversary. Tea was lush and filled us up. room was lovely, stayed in an exec corner suite, dinner was lovely and so were the staff but the fact that there was a wedding reception on and the kids were running around the restaurant at 9.30 didn't make it very romantic. Will visit again, just...

I visited the Malmaison Brasserie with my Fiancee and had a fantastic night. The food was first class and we were looked after in style by Don and Piera. We ate from the festive menu and would highly recommend a visit. We will definitely be back.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Fog on the Tyne? Let's hope not. Otherwise you'll miss the great view of the Tyne Bridge you get from our hotel in Newcastle city centre. But then, when you're staying at Malmaison Newcastle, it's the views on the inside that tell you your boat's come in. While you're right at the heart of Newcastle's great shops and exciting nightlife, the lure of MALBAR's legendary cocktails and the Mal Brasserie's classic dishes with a twist is pretty strong. And who wants to spend all night out on the town when one hotel in Newcastle has a whole floor with a shipbuilding theme and bathtubs you could sink a battleship in? It could only be the Newcastle Mal. ... more   less
