We stayed in one of the superior rooms. The room was very clean and bed was soooo comfy! The staff were very friendly, made check-in quick and easy. We especially liked the Irish women who was assisting at breakfast time (I apologise we can't remember her name), she was very kind and polite and didn't mind stopping to have a...

Food was very average and I wouldn't rush back. The setting was nice. I had a risotto that tasted like it was defrosted and reheated, bland and watery. However, Don, our waiter was very polite and informative. Malmaison is trying hard to be fine dining....sadly it is not.

This is our first stay in a Malmaison but have heard good things so we decided to try it for a birthday treat. We had a superior double and the room was huge.. the biggest I have ever stayed in! The bed was a super king and very comfy. There was everything you would need in the room - iron,...

Booked Malmaison in Newcastle for one night whilst on business in the area. Maybe the iconic name and brand resulted in heightened expectations but I left feeling it just did not quite " hit the spot" Parking was pretty easy. Multi-storey opposite ( the rear ) of the hotel. You need to park on the top floor and then lug...

Visited recently with my wife. Reception is dark and seedy like something you would find in a night club or casino. The whole place is looking tired and showing its age. Poor decoration done on the cheap. The bedroom was basic and cheaply furnished. A tatty old hotel really, geared up to take the money from those visiting Newcastle for...

Took my Husband here for a surprise night away! The staff on reception were extremely helpful and pleasant. They ordered a taxi for us to go and explore Newcastle. I booked a package that included a 3 course meal and a bottle of champagne. The food was lovely and the waitress again was extremely helpful and friendly. My Husband enjoyed...

We stayed for 2 nights, Our room was an L shape with a sofa pointing towards the TV and a small chair towards the lovely view out of the window (we changed it round!!!). On booking, weeks earlier, I had asked for Gluten free to be catered for and had provided a list of what and where to buy them...

We went there after a recommendation and didn't get disappointed. The food was great and Service exellent. It was busy but the Staff ( Justin and Tessie )couldn't have been more accomodating.Especially Tessie, as I assume the Shift manager, couldn't have done more as we had special dietary needs. We definately will be back, Thank you.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Fog on the Tyne? Let's hope not. Otherwise you'll miss the great view of the Tyne Bridge you get from our hotel in Newcastle city centre. But then, when you're staying at Malmaison Newcastle, it's the views on the inside that tell you your boat's come in. While you're right at the heart of Newcastle's great shops and exciting nightlife, the lure of MALBAR's legendary cocktails and the Mal Brasserie's classic dishes with a twist is pretty strong. And who wants to spend all night out on the town when one hotel in Newcastle has a whole floor with a shipbuilding theme and bathtubs you could sink a battleship in? It could only be the Newcastle Mal. ... more   less
